$119.85 $177.38

The Sennheiser XS 1 is a handheld vocal microphone that brings Sennheiser sound quality to casual and entry-level users looking for a cost-effective, versatile mic suitable for a wide variety of presentation and performance applications.

This dynamic microphone requires no power to operate and features a standard XLR connector ready to plug into a wide range of audio gear including PA speakers, mixing boards, and recorders. The mic's cardioid pickup pattern focuses audio capture on the vocalist in front of the mic, picking up less unwanted background sound for clearer vocals and reduced feedback on loud stages.

Built to withstand repeated use, the durable metal chassis features a single mute button that silently mutes the mic—and that's it; no additional controls to worry about. A mic clamp and transport bag are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How about feedback? Does it get much feedback?

A: No, the PGA58 is not prone to feedback. Its cardioid polar pattern focuses on the user's voice while rejecting unwanted background noise and delivers a clear and natural tone.

Q: 2. How far away from the receiver is it okay?

A: The Sennheiser e835S Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone is not a wireless microphone/transmitter, it is a standard wired microphone. As an option for a wireless system with the same mic capsule, you may like the Sennheiser EW-D 835-S SET Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System with MMD 835 Capsule - Q1-6: 470 to 526 MHz (B&H # SEEWD835SQ16), or the Sennheiser XSW 1-835-A UHF Vocal Set with e835 Dynamic Microphone - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SESXSW1835A), or the Sennheiser XSW 2-835-A Wireless Handheld Microphone System with e835 Capsule - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEXSW2835A). For a camera-mount system, the Sennheiser EW 135P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Cardioid Handheld Microphone System - A1: 470 to 516 MHz (B&H # SEEW135PG4A1) is a great option. The EW-D and EW series systems have an operating distance of up to 330 feet line of sight, and the XSW system has an operating distance of up to 100 feet line of sight.

Q: 3. I understand it's a dynamic mic, but is the switch quiet even if I need to have phantom power on for other mics?

A: Yes the Sennheiser e835S has a silent switch. It's also a good sounding mic that you would expect to pay a bit more for.

Q: 4. what is the difference with the e 835 except the switch?

A: The only difference between the e835 and e835S is the on/off switch. Other than the switch, the mics are identical.

Q: 5. Does the on/off button have a mute option?

A: The mic does have a separate mute button in the front part of the mic.

Q: 6. Shure says this doesnt require phantom power.. sooo.. what does that mean? can i plug it into an xlr-usb cable and have it work fine on my pc/mac?

A: An XLR to USB cable alone would not be sufficient to convert the analog output of this mic to a digital signal that a computer can read via USB, so if you plugged it in with just the cable, your computer will not be able to detect the attached microphone and would not be able to use it for recordings. Since it is not a USB mic that has a built-in A/D converter, this item would require the use of an XLR to USB Adaptor (such as the Shure X2U) or other interface connected between the mic and computer.

Q: 7. does this need another accessory?

A: This microphone includes a compatible cable. So it is ready to plug directly into an amplifier, etc.

Q: 8. What is the thread size for the included stand clip?

A: The stand clip included with the ND76S is 5/8 . A thread adapter is included for connection to stands with a 3/8 threading.

Q: 9. How long is the XLR Cable that's included in the package?

A: The Mackie EM-89D EleMent Series Dynamic Vocal Microphone includes a 10 foot XLR cable.

Q: 10. hi. the power supply is it for europe? i need it for 240v not 120v

A: The power supply is dual voltage, so it will work in Europe.

[0.975 lb] I prefer the e835 over the Shure sm58 both in sound and value. Especially at $15 less per microphone with this 3 pack. I've even converted two of my local bands over to e835 for their live performances based on audience feedback, specifically the vocals in a male rock bands. I primarily use this microphones for podcasts and panel setups. I'm sure I'm be buying more again soon for more clients.

[Mono] I bought these Mic's for a upgrade with a purchase of a Pyle Pro PT210 120W PA Mixer/Amplifier. I can say they work well with each other, Quality, voice was 100% . This was used in our club house for our meetings which consist of about 100 people. Thanks again B&H for the Great service. Frank W.

[9.3 x 3 x 2.7"] I bought this to replace some ancient mics for poetry readings. Solidly built (as expected from Shure) and sound was good and warmer than the vintage mics it replaced. None of the readers or emcee had any issue with the range of pick-up as another reviewer mentioned.

[0.975 lb] I compared the sound quality of the PGA58 vs the Shure PG48 and the Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Mic capsule by simultaneously recording a baritone singing acapella with the Zoom H5. The PGA58 was clearly superior in the warmth and richness of its sound. Other characteristics were similar. We have used it in church service recordings with good results, including a close-up recording of a piano -- producing more natural sound than the PG48. None of this is surprising and is what you would expect given the product information from Shure and B&H, but its nice to have it confirmed by ear!

[9.3 x 3 x 2.7"] A heavy duty mic that has a familiar feel. The off on switch is very useful and sound quality is great. Will continue to use for our A/V events.

[Mic Mute] I was on a tight budget and needed two additional mics. I would ordinarily buy the standard Shure SM58, but a B&H rep pointed out that the PGA58 Is a similar professional level model, and 60% of the price. I used an SM58 and the two new PGA58s in an outdoor concert, and could not tell the difference. The SM58 may be a bit more sturdy (it's known to be indestructible), but the PGA58 was excellent for the occasion!

[Mic Mute] This is a good option for a quality mic at a great price. Liked one so well we followed up with another. Used for announcing at events.
