Featuring a refined design that is impressively sleek and lightweight, the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical III Lensis a fast, compact, and versatile wide-angle prime for M-mount rangefinder cameras. The reformulated construction renders this lens notably lighter and smaller than previous versions, and a redeveloped optical layout is better suited for accurate color rendering with digital cameras. Two aspherical elements are featured, too, which help to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions for improved clarity and sharpness throughout the aperture range. The lens is defined by its bright f/1.2 maximum aperture, which benefits working with selective focus techniques, and also aids working in low-light conditions. Additionally, a 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality and the lens's manual focus operation permits working with subjects as close as 1.6' away.

Two aspherical elements are used to reduce field curvature, distortion, and spherical aberrations for improved clarity and sharpness.

Manual focus design enables a minimum focusing distance of 1.6', and it is rangefinder coupled for accurate focusing to 2.3'.

A 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Compatible with optional LH-8 lens hood.

[52 mm (Front)] I had my heart set on a Cron 2.0, but I read the reviews and they were spot on.
This is amazingly sharp, bokeh is beautiful, and the color is neutral. At 1.2 it vignettes in a beautiful manner, by 2.0, it's crystal sharp. Note at 1.2 it does purple fringe in high contrast areas when sun is out...not as bad as the older 1.1 version, but it's noticeable.

[61.53°] I like when people upload photographs from lenses so I thought I'd add one for this lens. Photo shot with Leica 240mp iso 200 f1.2 1/125 handheld over my head, center-weighted classic metering, manual focused using live view with the red highlights selected.
I have only had the lens a couple of days and I like it. No complaints so far. I don't go crazy with the technical stuff so I can't help you there. Focusing wheel is smooth, with nice resistance and tactile feel, aperture wheel has firm stops but between those stops there is not much resistance. Lens is beefy, but not too beefy considering it is f1.2. I don't have a hood for it.
The filter ring is 52mm, which is a rare size, however, I have some old color filters from my Canon FD days that I will be able to resurrect for black and white. I like that.
No coded data. I've shot with auto lens detect, manual set to various lens choices on the 240, and lens detect off. I can't notice anything different, but I didn't really bother to examine too deeply. I purchased this lens for it's 1.2 aperture in 35mm focal length because A) Leica doesn't make one; B) If Leica did make one, it would be $15,000; C) I have a 35mm Summicron f/2 and not a Summilux f/1.4; D) The Summilux is $6,000; E) I have a Summicron f/2; F) I figured this Voigtlander lens had to be as good or better than any Canon FD lens that I have ever used when I was much younger (except for the Canon FD 85mm 1.2L which I still own). If you find beautiful light, your photo will be nice.
Also, having taken some black and white test shots, this lens is really going to be nice for low light black and white photography.

[35mm] Using it on my Leica M10 Monochrom and it delivers brilliant results even And especially wide open. Build quality is first rate. Wish it came with a lens hood instead of that being a 110 dollar extra. Ended up purchasing a 52mm Sensei Pro for under 10 bucks and a 58mm snap on cover for under 5 bucks: Perfect solution. Need to use a filter? Add one between lens and hood. Use the hood to rotate a polarizer...
The focus ring is as smooth as they come. Throw is perfect.
Price performance is hard to beat, seriously!!

[12] There is only one issue with this lens - the chromatic aberrations, but they are easily corrected in post. Beside that, everything is to like - small size (for this kind of maximal aperture), lightweight, sufficiently sharp around f/1.2-f/1.4, quite sharp from f/1.8 and really sharp from f/2.8. Smooth bokeh. All in all - excellent lens.

[1.05 lb] If you are like me finding the Summilux not worth the premium for whatever reason, this lens serves well as your last stop of hunting.

It is compact, well balanced, characteristic at wide aperture, sharp when stopped down (like anything else), good coating for flare, all metal and smooth focus ring.

OK you might look for bad things: I never liked the silver rim for the whole product line, and yes it is not as cheap as XArtisans, due to the lineage the resale is not easy.

Comparing to XArtisans, it is sharper, lighter, more flare resistance, more expensive and looks difference than Leica lenses, it is just a good all-arounder.

[61.53°] I had the previous version of this lens, and purchased this one recently. I use it on the Nikon Z7 with the Shoten LM-NZ adapter. Compared to the previous version, this one is definitely lighter, smaller, and seems to give slightly better image quality—sharper, more contrast, and less chromatic aberration. The image is a bit soft at wide open, just like the predecessor, but this one definitely feels sharper. Overall, this makes a perfect street and everyday lens with the extra creative freedom that comes from the super shallow depth of field. Happy with the upgrade.

[f/1.2] I’ve been shooting with this lens for about 6 months now adapted to the Nikon 7 II and it perfectly compliments that camera. This is by far the sharpest Voigtlander lens I own. Exceptional build quality and ease of handling makes a perfect walk around lens or pretty much any purpose really. If I had to pick one lens to stay on my camera all the time, this would be it. I may upgrade my cameras but this is a mainstay.

[1.05 lb] Fantastic color rendition. Option to use f1.2 aperture is great, but the primary reasons to purchase this lens are the color output and compact form factor. The lens is extremely well balanced and you get used to manual focus.
