The Bose T4S ToneMatch Mixer is a compact 4-channel digital mixer featuring a powerful DSP engine, an intuitive user interface, and built-in USB audio functionality, making it well suited for capturing live performances, podcasting, livestreaming, and more. The ToneMatch mixer is designed to interface with the Bose L1 or F1 sound system for full end-to-end tonal control.

The integrated ToneMatch processing and zEQ help you get a great sounding mix quickly and effectively. The Bose ToneMatch processor is natural sounding on vocals and instruments, while the zEQ focuses your tone for effective adjustments on the fly. The illuminated, tactile controls, and indicators offer quick, spontaneous sound adjustment even on dark stages. Additionally, the ToneMatch system offers advanced features such as tap-tempo delay, a built-in chromatic tuner, and recallable scenes to create a professional onstage companion for performing artists.

Each channel offers a trim knob, a channel edit button, an FX mute button, a volume knob, and a dedicated channel mute. The main output features a master volume control, an independent headphone volume control, and phantom power for working with condenser microphones. The Bose T4S ToneMatch Mixer ships with a magnetic cover and a ToneMatch cable, which powers the mixer when connected to an L1 PA system. When using the T4S without an L1 system, a dedicated power supply (available separately) is required. Connection to a host computer requires a separately available USB Type-B to USB Type-A cable.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could the Bose T4S ToneMatch Mixer control two different Bose L1 model 2 at the same time?

A: The Bose T4s does have connection available for two L1 speakers, so you can use them for left and right. Here is the extra cable you can use, for a second speaker: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/744793-REG/Bose_42536_T1_ToneMatch_Audio_Engine.html

Q: 2. Can I connect the balanced aux out of the T4S to a device with an unbalanced input? What cable should I use - TRS or TS?

A: The aux output of the Bose T4S ToneMatch 4-Channel Audio Mixer and USB Interface accepts 1/4" TRS or TS cables. If you are connecting to an unbalanced TS input, you can use a1/4" TS cable.

Q: 3. Is it possible to feed Optical Audio to this mixer and have an output as HDMI or Optical Audio?

A: Hi Nguyen, Thanks for this interesting question. The T4S and T8S can accept analog audio and digital audio via USB A or USB B. There is no optical input or HDMI. If you have more questions please join our Bose Portable PA Community. https://www.bosepro.community/g/portable

Q: 4. What are the pros and cons of using a shielded cat5e/6 for the audio engine connection?

A: Hi Harold! Thank you for your question. Shielded cables are more effective for blocking interference in comparison to unshielded, so installing high-quality shielded cables will help to ensure high speed performance. However, I would recommend contacting Technical Support for your region - they will be more than happy to look further into this query for you. They will be able to advise you on the best option for your particular situation.

Q: 5. What are the power requirements...where I live it’s 230v-60Hz....?

A: The Bose T4S is powered through the included ToneMatch cable which connects to a Bose L1 or F1 system for digital audio and power. It does not use an external power supply.

Q: 6. For "Bose T8S ToneMatch 8-channel audio mixer", can the USB interface send all 8 channels to the computer?

A: Yes. The Bose T8S ToneMatch 8-Channel Audio Mixer and USB Interface has a USB Type-B port which can be used for connection to a computer as a general-purpose USB audio device for recording and playback. It can also be used to download performance scenes to a computer as well as to install system updates.

Q: 7. When connected via USB, is this mixer selectable as an audio source in video software like OBS, Vmix, or Wirecast?

A: When connected to a computer via USB, this device would be selectable as an audio source into OBS.

Q: 8. When recording as an usb interface, does it give use of all channels or just two?

A: This device can function as a 2 channel usb interface to the computer. In the settings you can specify which sound sources you'd like to send to the pc.

Q: 9. Can I send those audio signals over phone line to someone who is in distance?

A: Unfortunately not. The Saramonic SmartRig+ is not a telephone interface. We carry a vast array of products from companies like JK Audio that will allow you to send audio over a telephone line; be it a PBX or POTS line, or even a cellular phone.

Q: 10. Can you use a regular cat5 cable for the audio engine cable? Also, What is the longest length recommended.

A: Hi, Harold. Thank you for your question. You can use a CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable in place of the ToneMatch cable. This is suitable for connecting a T4S to an L1 Model II or L1 Model 1S. Fifty feet is the recommended maximum. If you have more questions like this, please visit our Bose Portable PA Community. https://www.bosepro.community/g/portable Thank you.

[4] Issues with my tone match, and I upgraded to this

[4] I bought this last week to accompany the L1 Model 2 and the B2 Bass Bin and couldn't be happier with it. Simply being able to run guitars direct in with no pre-amps is fantastic; a guitar and a pedal will run straight into this thing and sound fantastic. Not to mention the tone matching for the various types of guitars and mic profiles. Independent fx's across each channel, what more could you ask for. Wouldn't hesitate to snatch this off the shelf if you pondering it.

[4.605 lb] I'm somewhere between a beginner and a novice, when it comes to creating, mixing, and recording music. Even though I'm not ever going on tour, I like upper end equipment, with a pretty simple user interface. That is why I picked the Bose T8S. I have a lot to learn, but I have been able to make great progress in just a couple of weeks. And purchasing from B&H, I know my products will get here in great shape, and on time.

[1x RJ45] This is a great mixer, it makes anything sound better without almost any tweak, I tested it with my two Bose S1 Pro speakers, and it sounds amazing, also I tried it with other "bad sounding" Harbinger speakers that were sounded very bad with the harbinger mixer, and it makes a huge difference, it makes the sound shine impressively, every person in the gig was impressed of the good sound it can produce. Also, it helped me a lot by improving my installation/ setup time using the scenes feature.

Missing features would be:
1) to include a Bluetooth channel as the S1 Pro integrated mixer,
2) to be able to recall volume of every channel when saving the scenes.
3) add the xlr/ plug option for the auxiliary inputs
4) allow the user to specify to what channel phantom power will be applied.

[4.605 lb] I don't like paying $50 for any cable, but in this case it's a pretty nice cable. High quality materials throughout. It'll last forever -- if I don't lose it again.

[48 kHz] I'm liking my new Bose T8S mixer.

I like:
8 channels (with two aux inputs for a possible 10 inputs.

STEREO! Simply pan where you want a channel to be in the stereo field. Of course, this requires a stereo-capable PA.

Compact size

Intuitive layout and operation. In fact, if you are upgrading from a T1 like me, it operates the same so there's little to no learning curve at all, just more channels.

Note: Be sure and upgrade the firmware before use.
