[Single Grip] This is a great add-on to the superclamps! The hex stud attaches the grip head in a very secure way to a superclamp that you can then attach to almost everywhere. I'm using them primarly to attach to my c-stand raisers to add additional lights, gobos, etc. Worth every cent!

[Aluminum] I was debating purchasing a C-stand with a 20 column. Then I saw this. Like many others, I've got super clamps laying around. So, what a solution over buying a dedicated 20 column stand. I can attach this to a steel 40 C-stand and have it perform as well as having to purchase a 5' Kupo for $200+ or (Impact 20 Turtle Base NA in black, unavailable).

[5/8" Stud] How do photographers support and adjust (raise, rotate and position) an arm, pole, and/or boom, and attached something like a light, umbrella, softbox, and/or flag to it? The answer, the Impact Hex Stud Grip Head, which I will call the Hexy The Hexy is made of black colored, non-magnetic metal, with a nice very grippable handle to really tighten the moveable parts. There are 4 slots for different diameters of arms which insert into the slots and then tighten to secure the boom arm from sliding. The largest slot holds a C-stand arm. In conjunction, Hexy's matching opposing discs with teeth are able to rotate 360 degree and are tighten at the same time with the boom arm slots. There is no slippage. Because the teeth engage and lock into place. A teeter totter effect takes place, so when extending the arm out say 3 feet (1 meter) a counter balance weight is used. The Hexy is made for this purpose. But it is useless unless partnered with the Impact Super Clamp (or Manfrotto or equivalent part). The Hexy's hex stud engages with the Super Clamp and locks securely to it. It is a dual setup. And it works great for any booming usage. This combination is much better than the Python Double Clamp for booming purposes which will sag while booming anything of weight. Because the Super Clamp can be clamped practically anywhere on anything, this allow you to boom something anywhere too. For extra boom arms I discovered steel rods at Home Depot that fit perfectly with Hexy. I use light stands or C-stands for support with the dual parts. I give Hexy a Grade A, using the standard school grading system in the U.S. Highly recommended for any booming purpose.

[Aluminum] I was going to buy another C-stand and thought that a shorter 20 column stand was needed, even though I preferred the taller 40 stand. I like black stands and B&H didn't have a black Impact 20 in stock. Only the Kupo for $211. I happened to see this grip head that fits into a super clamp and I knew right away that this would do everything for me that a 20 stand would do when mounted to the taller 40. Plus, I can mount an additional grip arm to hold a reflector, scrim or gobo on the same stand as the one holding the light. The money I saved will go toward another 40 C-stand.
