A: 1. This is a hanging fixture. You'd have to find some kind of adapter to change it to a stand mount. A 750W fixture is also possibly a bit too hot for your umbrella. You might consider a diffusion gel instead.2. For the gel, you'd want to use no-drip, fire resistant certified gels (Apollo, Rosco) & a gel frame available many places including B&H I'm sure. Check the diameter of the hole of the frame to be sure it is going to let most of your light thru, but you can use a generic gel frame.

I bought the Arrilite 750 Plus specifically because I was looking for a high output light. I coupled it with the 36x48 Chimera Medium Video Pro Plus 1 Softbox. A powerful, super creamy soft light had been recommended by DPs Alex Buono and Shane Hurlbut for solo filmmakers ( like myself ). Something that would be powerful and easy to set up and break down. I added the Impact D1000 1,000W AC Dimmer Control to give me some flexibility without worrying about changing out lamps.Both the Arrilite 750 Plus and the Chimera Softbox work great together, and do produce a lovely wrap-around light for interview subjects - which was my need.
