[0.15 lb] Best versatile light,good for photography and videos and it also pairs good with the godox tl60 tube lights and could be paired with the godox remote

[0.15 lb] I love the features, I love the brightness, I love the bluetooth, I am very happy with what it does.


The main thing bugging me is the big handle for the yoke. Big pro lights have those, but I feel like this has it just to look pro, but not to be pro. The long handle is there to give leverage when tightening or loosening, but I feel like this has too much plastic to make that leverage safe in the long term. I'm leaving it at 5 stars and may update it if something actually happens, but that's my first impression.


I also don't prefer the big handle because it sticks out awkwardly in my lighting case eating up valuable space. To be fair, the included case is perfectly decent, but I wouldn't send it through TSA or anything like that.

[Plastic] Super easy to use and navigate. Gives you a good choice of colors. Happy with the purchase

[Circle] I originally purchased these lights with the intention of having a more compact 3-point setup instead of lugging a set of LS600Cs around. For the most part, it has worked out well and the quality and reliability has been proven for me on over ten several hours long shoots.


Pros:


Easy to setup and configure
Feature-rich, especially considering the price point
Workhorse grade build quality
Color accuracy is solid
Has DMX (though you need an RJ45-to-XLR5 adapter)
Works with wireless CRMX receiver and has a USB port that can power them(!)


Cons:


No v-mount or proprietary battery offered by Godox; have to go third party
IMO, output is better than the SZ150R and the Amaran 300c, but still leaves a little to be desired
The zoom feature isn't really all that effective and you'll still need to keep grids on hand
The dimming setup is still fairly bright
When COB is fully retracted, there is a minor hotspot


All in all, a good light that could be great if Godox made a battery kit and adjusted some things with future firmware updates.

[0.15 lb] It's inexpensive and effective. I appreciate it when a company doesn't overcharge, and Astera is showing its appreciation for its customers who invest in their products.

[Circle] I’ve always loved the design of Nanlite fixtures and this is another fresh new look. It’s pretty lightweight for a 500W fixture. And the price is perfect for my budget! I have used this for ton of productions already and now looking to add either additional FC-500B or the FC-300B.

[Plastic] Fast, no-frills access to basic Astera lighting functions. Depending on the setting, the only potential gotcha is that the IR signal can reflect off of nearby surfaces and activate other Astera lights in the vicinity (like any remote control).
