This 44" x 39' roll of Hahnemuhle Hemp FineArt Inkjet Paper 44x39from Hahnemuhle Hemp FineArt Inkjet Paper 44x39comes on a 3" core and offers a new and unique option for fine-art photographers. Featuring a 290 gsm basis weight, 60% of this paper is made from hemp fibers. The base material has a bright white natural tone, and thanks to the bright white color of the hemp fibers, optical brighteners are not needed. A lightly textured surface gives the paper a silky feel, and the paper provides deep blacks with contrast that stands out with eye-catching effect. Compatible with pigment and dye inkjet systems, the acid- and lignin-free paper has a high age resistance, which makes it well-suited for long-lasting prints in galleries, exhibitions, and museums.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will putting prints from this canvas in "Clear Bags' print storage bags (archival acid free, etc.) damage the print and ink?

A: Storing prints on the Hahnemuhle Cézanne Canvas Matte Fine Art Paper in archival storage bags will not damage the ink or the prints.

Q: 2. Are all the sheets in this sample pack the same finish, Matte Smooth Fine Art? If not, what are the other surface finishes in the pack?

A: Two Sheets of Each Paper Type: Rice Paper 100 gsm Photo Rag Book & Album 220 gsm Bamboo 290 gsm Photo Rag Ultra Smooth 305 gsm Photo Rag 308 gsm Photo Rag Bright White 310 gsm

Q: 3. Does this roll paper have much 'curl' to it? Some of the heavier papers are almost unusable when I get near the end of the roll (Epson 4880). Thanks.

A: Yes, the Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin Paper (17" x 39' Roll) BH #HAFABS31017 has "curl".

Q: 4. What is the mil of this fine art paper?

A: It is about 19mil.

Q: 5. Is the Hahnemuhle Paper compatible with Roland Solvent ink printers?

A: It is not compatible with Roland Solvent Ink Printers.

Q: 6. The samples are lumped together without identification. How are you supposed to know which paper is which?

A: Each sheet of paper has a stamp on the back indicating the paper type. I know this is the case by the 8.5 x 11 & I assume the same is by the 13 x 19.

Q: 7. A question regarding the excellent review (Kevin) of Hahnemuhle WT 310 Matte: The review mentions a clay stabilizer being compromised due to the texture of the paper. Does that clay originate in the printer head and become dislodged and then create the clog? If so, which printer is referred to?

A: The clay isn't in the printer head; it's in the paper. ALL inkjet-specific papers have a clay stabilizer as it is vitally important to how the paper works: The clay stabilizer provides a consistently receptive surface to receive the ink droplets so that tones and colours are consistent across the paper. The stabilizer also has the function of dramatically reducing the amount of ink required to create a saturated image. To those who don't understand this concept, two points:1. Print on regular art papers, like watercolour. It will work, but the print quality will be very poor, colour and density will be awful, even with double the amount of ink compared to inkjet-specific papers.2. Use a knife to scrape the printable surface of any inkjet-specific paper. It will produce a fine white powder, or chips that can be broken up to form a powder (depending on how much binder is in use). This is why most papers, including this one, are single-sided -- because the stabilizer is only applied to one side of the paper. Others like Moab Entrada have the stabilizer applied to both surfaces. All such papers have a lignin-free substrate to make them archival, but you are not printing on the substrate; your ink never reaches it. Again, this is trivial to demonstrate by making a print, then gently scraping the stabilizer away to reveal the paper substrate beneath.-- Kevin

Q: 8. Where do I find the ICC Profile for this paper? I have an iMac and an Epson R2880

A: You can find the ICC profiles on Hahnemuhle's website at this link:http://www.hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-fineart/icc-profiles.htmlThere is a drop down menu that allows you to select your printer brand, model and the paper type. Once you have selected your printer and paper, you will be able to download the profiles.

Q: 9. Does this paper have OBAs?

A: Yes. The Hahnemuhle Fineart Pearl Paper has a moderate amount of OBA content.

Q: 10. What's the single sided equivalent of this paper? It has more texture than the ultra smooth but less than the standard photo rag. Just wondering because I love this paper but don't need double sided. Thanks!

A: The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Bright White would be the most similar single sided option: https://bhpho.to/3HYbbGg

[46 x 6.5 x 6.5"] I love the subtle texture of the sugar cane. It doesn't do as well with deep shadow areas as the Photo Rag but it is still a lovely paper. I purchased on box and ordered more afterward.

[89%] Nice sample pack if you're looking for a variety of Photo Rag papers. The rice paper is an interesting addition, but nice to see how it compares to the thicker papers!

[290 gsm] Straight off, I wondered it the profile would be close to those for Agave or Bamboo-Nope! So I downloaded the available Hahnemhle profile and it was fine. I will profile the paper myself to see if I can eke out a tiny improvement over the canned one. It's nice to have one more slightly different paper base to turn to in terms of paper color and texture. Reading the literature, I discovered that I had completely missed another Hahnemhle product based on a fourth alternative fiber source, sugar cane! Seems not to be available any more. I regret not having been able to try it.

[Single] on a recommendation from michael at Tricera in Vancouver i tried this paper for the reproduction of original wet plate images. in my experience it's impossible to reproduce that 3rd dimension in the original plates on glass or aluminum. instead of pursuing what i saw as a dead end, i called michael and he walked me through the options. the hahnemuhle agave has given me another way of seeing the prints as i would like to see them represented in an approximation of the originals. what i love about wet plate is the imperfections. what i love about hahnemuhle agave is that it delivers that imperfection in just the right balance. also, it doesn't come from trees .

[1x Paper Roll] I have a fairly old, Canon inkjet printer. Honestly, I thought it was going to be good for nothing more than printing off standard documents. But oh man, this paper works wonders with this printer. The photos come out bright and have beautiful colors. I recommend this paper 1000%!
