Q: 1. What Frequency Band is best for karaoke?

A: Actually any frequency for this set of Shure, I own 6 Shure packs and they have a range for about 175 Ft . I have the H10 and the J10 series. I use at our Church.

Q: 2. can i use it in europe , voltage problems maybe?

A: Power requirements aside (other responses given here are correct), available & legal transmission frequencies will vary greatly from country to country. I would recommend contacting Shure's Wireless Application division (1-800-516-2525, ext 4) to ensure your system will function well and operate legally where you need to use it.

Q: 3. whats the difference between this 2 kits Shure BLX24 Handheld Wireless System With Beta 58A Mic (J10: 584 - 608 MHz) and Shure BLX24/SM58 Vocal Wireless System Basic Kit (H9: 512 to 542 MHz)???

A: The Beta 58a is a different microphone. It is also in a different frequency block. The kit with the SM58 also comes with a bag, cable. and windscreen.

Q: 4. Is this microphone brand new?

A: Yes, the Shure BLX24/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System with PG58 Capsule is a brand new item in the original manufacturer's packaging with a full manufacturer's warranty.

Q: 6. Is this just plug and play what else I need to play my instruments do I have to connected to my computer and download software?

A: The Shure BLX24/SM58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System is not an audio interface and cannot connect directly to a computer. To connect this or any other microphone/wireless system to your computer, you would need an audio interface such as BH #FOSCARSOLO3G. The BLX24/SM58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System also does not have any support for connecting instruments. It comes with a handheld transmitter, although beltpack transmitters with an instrument input are available separately.

Q: 7. What type of Digital Wireless Receiver compatible with Shure GLXD2/SM58 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone Transmitter with SM58 Capsule (2.4 GHz)?

Q: 8. How many sets or how many microphones can be used simultaneously without signal interference?

A: The Shure MoveMic Wireless Microphone Receiver for Cameras & Mobile Devices can connect to a maximum of two transmitters at one time. It would not be recommended to use more than four transmitters in close proximity, although your mileage will vary based on the environment and local usage of the 2.4 GHz band.

Q: 9. is the body of mic plastic or metal ?

A: Shure uses a Metal body casing for all of its QLXD receivers and transmitters.

Q: 10. Will the receiver transmit static when the mic is off?

A: The Shure BLX4 receiver in the Shure BLX24/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System with PG58 Capsule should not, in theory, create any noise when not paired with the PG58 transmitter. However, this is not a specification that manufacturers provide for their wireless products. Because this system operates on open frequencies, the receiver could be susceptible to RF activity in the area, which could manifest itself as audible static noise.

[Dynamic] I have not had a chance to use the KSM8 extensively, but I was very impressed with the balanced tone. In the studio, I used it direct-in and almost forgot that I wasn't using EQ. When live, for my voice I needed to drop off some bass, and give the 1khz a bump up, and a smaller bump ahead of it, because I like air. But, yes, it has minimal proximity effect, but just enough to feel like you can eat the mic and get some power without spiking the bass. But be advised at first I was not sure if I would like it, because I was so used to using an SM58, that I kind of missed the proximity effect, which is a valid effect!... but this thing is a different animal, and I am getting used to it now and it makes alot of sense. With an SM58, I always felt like I had to artificially manipulate how I sing in order for the vocal to come out the way I want to hear it. When I first tried the KSM8, I was totally oversinging, and feeling slightly anxious because the mic wouldnt respond to my usual way of singing in an SM58. WIth the KSM8, I feel like I can sing more naturally (as if I were singing unplugged without any mic)... I would say it is definitely not the same as no mic, and I still have to watch my sibilance a bit, but especially plosives when close to the mic, but it's way easier to control that an SM58 which always requires a heightened state of awareness to ensure that you are aligned correctly and twisting your diction enough to come out of the PA cleanly and as desired. The plosive issue seems to disappear when I pull off the mic. When in the studio, the KSM8 reminded me of the EV635A/B which I had recently used to record poetry, as it is also a mic made for the human voice, and requires minimal EQ.... I am not a Microphone master, but to my ear, the EV635 and KSM8 had a similar flat EQ suited for voice, with a little bit of sizzle in the high end. Highly recommend this mic.

[IR] Shure SM58 continues to be a reliable workhorse. Great sound and singers love them. Also, the staff at B&H was EXCELLENT. As they always do, they were very helpful in explaining the products and making recommendations with NO pressure to buy. They are my go to resource for all audio/video products.

[Aluminum] I was reluctant to fork over this much money for a dynamic mic. But I had heard some great things about the KSM8, so I took a chance. I am extremely happy with that decision. Amazing, full sounding mic with a very even and pleasant tone. Plus really good feedback rejection. (i'm not working with blasting monitors as a work in the jazz world, but at the levels I'm performing at, the feedback rejection is superb.) I use it mostly with my wife who has a fairly soft soprano voice and the overall sound is flat and even thoughout the frequency range (though clear and open) with no emphasis or tones that stick out. It's kind of difficult to describe my first impression except to say that it's beefy without being muddy, and still sounding open at the top. It sounds much better than the more expensive Neumann KMS 105 she was using with much better off axis rejection. Best, most even dynamic mic I've ever used.

[-51.5 dBV/Pa] I bought this microphone to replace one that I got about a year ago. While that one cost about half as much as the Sure, what did I really save with it only lasting a year. Even though this microphone is Sure's lowest cost wireless microphone, the quality is outstanding. The setup was simply putting the batteries in the microphone and plugging the receiver in and it was ready to go. I'm using it for speaking only and the sound is excellent. When you turn the microphone on and off there is no audible sound. I haven't had it to loose connection with the receiver once. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Sure has been a leading microphone manufacture for as long as I can remember. It's nice to be able to buy something of this quality today.
