The Dahle 550 Professional Rotary Trimmer 14 Inchfrom Dahle 550 Professional Rotary Trimmer 14 Inchhas a rotary blade that is encased within a plastic housing. The housing protects your hand from being cut while cutting paper. The trimmer can cut up to 20 sheets and to a cut length of 14". As you push or pull the blade, it self sharpens itself, and the trimmer can be used on a tabletop and then stored in an upright position thanks to it's kickstand endcaps.

A: The Dahle 507 Personal Rotary Trimmer is ideal for cutting paper, photos, and cardstock.

Q: 8. Do the guide bars on the left and right sides adjust? Or are they fixed? And can you completely remove the guide with red button? That will be in the way of how I envision working.

A: The left guide bar can be moved and/or removed. The right guide can be removed too but it would not be recommended. The right guide holds the paper down to ensure a straight and clean cut.

Q: 9. how do you replace the blade on this cutter?

A: This has a no touch blade, on the side of the cutter the part that you push up and down to cut paper there is a lever that you turn, the blade comes of in it's cartridge and you replace it with a new cartridge and you never have to touch it. The cartridge # is G-01 for straight blade and G-02 for perforating blade.

Q: 10. Will this cut one or two sheets of copy paper, or it it only intended for thick materials?

A: The Carl Green Machine Professional Rotary Trimmer can cut two sheets of copy paper.

[12 lb] The trimmer now works great. There was a problem with the cutting head being pushed too far over and stuck. I was thinking that I would have to return it for a replacement. Instead I emailed Dahle in the evening and got a reply the next morning with an instruction sheet on how to fix the cutter. Called Dahle that morning since the blade made a clicking noise. The service technician diagnosed over the phone and sent me a new head. The cutter is great, and the service from Dahle is outstanding. In fact, the first call I made was answered by a service technician. I've seen complaints about poor service for another brand of cutters. All can say is that my experience with Dahle was great. By the way, I have two other 35 year old paper cutters from Dahle, one a guillotine cutter and the other a small roller trimmer. Both still work after lots of use. 5

[20] I've recently started selling prints from my own printer and needed something to do a quick, clean, and efficient job of cutting them to final sizes. My printer does up to A2 size so this trimmer has the capacity I need. I've used it a few times now and it works exactly as it should and appears well made. 5

[12 lb] This is a very impressive cutter. Operation of the cutting head is smooth and completely safe. It cuts through 2-ply mat with ease. The moveable guide and the scales on the cutter base (accurate down to 1mm) allow for very precise, repeatable cuts. The build quality is robust and I certainly expect it to give may years of service. 5

[12 lb] I use the trimmer to cut photos and postcards. The edges are clean and sharp, and straight! The back plate make it easy to line everything up and make the work easy. Really happy. The days of using an Olfa utility knife and a steel ruler are over. What a time saver. 5

[20] I've been looking for a good paper trimmer for my 13x19 printer paper. I saw this on sale and I dove right in. I wasn't disappointed when I received the item. It is very well made and it cut the photo paper I'm using easily and with a very clean edge. Seems like it will perform well and for a long time into the future. 5
