[100% DCI-P3] Not sure what the other review was about having problems with the image. Maybe a prior version of firmware? You can easily change gamma and color space D65 2.4, 2.2, P3, etc. Also calibrate it if you need it to be super accurate as it can hold an internal calibration LUT. Factory calibration was good. Image can also go super bright to 1800 nits so a summer day in the desert is no problem even without the sun hood. Touch control works well and it's a nicer form factor than the 703 bright. If you need best image and usability I think this is the best option on the market.

[3.62 lb] I bought this for my RED V-Raptor. Why didn't I just get the RED monitor? They are basically the same price! Let me explain...

The RED monitor is fantastic. One cable, attaches directly to the camera, user buttons, well built, and only slightly more expensive.

BUT...

I can only use the RED monitor version of the Cine 7 on a RED camera. And if you think I am going to spend 3K on a monitor that I can only use on one camera, you have another thing coming.

With this monitor, yes, I need two cables instead of one. That is where the shortcomings stop.

The Cine 7:

1. Can use on any camera. Any camera!
2. Still have complete camera control.
3. 500 more nits of brightness. Yes, 500! And it does make a difference.
4. A little bit cheaper.
5. Want Arri camera control? Yep, for $500 you have Arri camera control too.
6. With the RED monitor on an Arri camera you would have a paperweight.

You get a better monitor that you can use on any camera. I attach the monitor directly to the RED top handle using the SmallRig Swivel and Tilt Monitor Mount with ARRI-Style Accessory Mount. Perfect.

[1000:1] Ive been waiting for someone other than RED to have a monitor with camera menu and control features. Well this year that happened. The announcement earlier this year for the Cine 7 with ARRI and soon to be RED and Sony camera control was enticing. I recently bought and have since used it with my Scarlet W for about a month now. Its not cable free like the RED display with pogo connection but it is less expensive as well. The monitor does get a bit hot when you have the brightness cranked up as expected. There are no fans so its going to do that. Without fans though, you don't have to worry about another thing making noise on set. The SmallHD built in software with the page system and tools is really nice as well. The RED control menu and interface is superb in my opinion. Very happy with this monitor so far.

[1920 x 1200] Super easy to connect and use. Works amazing. Same functionality of a small HD and their menu system with the clean integration of teradek. Definitely nice not having to lug around extra gear. Every little bit counts!

[Yes] This was the best monitor on set by far on my last shoot. It gave me confidence with lighting and framing for an all day out door product promo shoot in direct sunlight without using the sunhood. The RED camera control is great and super easy to use. It took awhile to setup and at first I didn't think it was working on my RED Scarlet-w, but you have to go into the menu on the RED and change the control protocol settings. I will use this monitor for years to come!
