A: Red light means you are getting a signal. It does not turn green. I did not need to adjust the impedance. Be sure you have the amplifier on the end close to the projector. Are you using a mac or a pc? One time I hooked one of these cable to a mac and the cable would no longer work, even with a pc. I presume the amplifier was ruined but I am not sure.

A: the switch controls power amplitude, if the signal is coming in too strong you can back it off a little to prevent glitches. The directional portion is simply how the unit works. As long as you plug it in the correct way I've been very pleased with it.

A: Your typical cable can not reach such distances at that resolution. I don't believe this one will work.

A: We had to convert the signal and use hdmi to sdi and back!

The speakers should be placed no less than 8" away from each other and at least 8" away from any walls, each angled at approximately 60 degrees pointed toward the listener in a triangular position. A: The manufacturer, Kanex, refers to it as a signal booster. It has a numbered dial which can be adjusted. I tested it when I connected a DVR with a TV. It did make subtle differences to the image. This cable worked so well, I bought a 50' one to connect an Apple TV to a video projector. That dial made a huge differences between those devices.
