Ideal for biological students and microscopy enthusiasts, the BRESSER Erudit Basic 40-400x Binocular Microscopeis powered by a three AA batteries that allow you to take it into the field for hours of on-the-ground research and comes with a universal smartphone adapter to capture photos and videos of your specimens through the eyepiece for documentation and sharing. Its binocular head is set at a comfortable 45° angle to the body for a natural viewing position and can rotate a full 360° to make sharing the view among lab partners and colleagues simple and easy. It comes equipped with two 10x wide-field eyepieces that, when combined with the objectives, produce magnifications from 40x to 400x—making it ideal for viewing a wide variety of specimens, including thin sections, pond life, or skin and fur parasites. Employing a binocular head enables you to use the microscope with both eyes open, eliminating the eyestrain that is often associated with having to hold one closed for viewing.

Its dual-speed coaxial focuser features coarse and fine adjustments to ensure views are tack sharp. A large stage has integrated slide holders that can be used with one hand to make changing slides fast and a Vernier scale on the X and Y axes for measuring your specimens. The lower LED illuminator has a rheostat to control the intensity and is directed through a large 1.25 NA Abbe condenser with a simple iris diaphragm that gives you extreme control of the light coming through to the stage. The aperture of the condenser is larger than the highest-power objective, so you can be sure that the appropriate amount of light is transmitted to the specimen at all magnifications. Current LED technology delivers higher light efficiency than a conventional tungsten bulb with a cool operating temperature that prolongs specimen life when viewing live material and extends battery life when working in the field.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I notice it does not have dual lighting (no upper light, only lower). How good is the illumination for opaque objects?

A: The model has a Halogen Light, so pretty powerful.

Q: 2. Hi Not long ago I bought via B&H the BRESSER Researcher ICD LED 20-80x Stereo Microscope, and I'm very pleased with it. I would like to order also the Celestron 5.0MP Digital Microscope Imager (recommended as an accessory), however the spec information mentions that the imager will fit microscope eyepieces with 0.9" (23mm) and 1.18" (30mm) diameters. My microscope eyepieces diameter diameters are 30.5 mm – will the imager still fit?

A: That Imager will not work. My apologies for the confusion. However the BRESSER MikrOkular Full HD Eyepiece USB Camera (Black) will work with this Model. I just double checked Bresser's Site. Link to Item: https://bhpho.to/3bbAYKu

Q: 3. Can I attach a Canon 6D (or other Canon EF mount camera) to this microscope and if yes, which adapter will work with it? Thank you.

A: You would need these 2 parts: https://bhpho.to/30gjiai Plus: https://bhpho.to/33i5VZn

Q: 4. Does this microscope use prisms or mirrors? Are the objectives DIN compatible?

A: The 44132 uses prisms, and the objectives are DIN compatible.

Q: 5. Can you confirm the voltage rating as the Celestron website shows the Can you confirm the voltage for the power as the Celestron website shows it being - AC plug (110-240V)?

A: I am using it with 240V and working properly.

Q: 6. Comes in a nice box so I could safely repackage if I moved?

A: The box that the CELESTRON LABS CB2000C Compound Binocular Microscope with 5.5 x 5.5" Mechanical Stage comes in could be used for storage and transport too.

Q: 7. Does the Trinocular eyepiece tube accept a particular camera that can connect to a mac laptop so we can see the specimen displayed on the computer?

A: The CELESTRON LABS CB2000C Compound Binocular Microscope with 5.5 x 5.5" Mechanical Stage BH #CECB2000C • MFR #44132 does not have a trinocular eyepiece. It is a binocular eyepiece

Q: 8. I notice The Celestron CB2000CF does not have dual lighting (no upper light, only lower). How good is the illumination for opaque objects? Do you find this a limitation?

A: We use it for fecal parasite screens in my veterinary practice, so the lack of an upper light source is not an issue for us, as the samples are suspended in a brine solution and placed on the slide for microscopic examination.

Q: 9. The stage size is the only difference between the cb2000c and cf?

A: The CELESTRON LABS CB2000CF has a 4.3 x 4.7 Mechanical Stage/Slide Holder. The CELESTRON LABS CB2000C has 5.5 x 5.5 Mechanical Stage/Slide Holder.

Q: 10. Is it possible to buy affordable replacement light bulbs for the illumination system?

A: We don't sell them. You would have to contact the manufacturer.

[Aluminum] For anyone who has to home school because of the government public health warnings or does so because they prefer home schooling this microscope camera is an essential if instruction includes the use of a microscope. I'd suggest at least the Celestron microscope sold by B&H. With a PC, and a decent textbook one can cover the science included in school curriculum from elementary thru advanced high school biology.

[Battery] I am a High School teacher. Recently, my children and I were discussing microscopic life, so I decided to look into purchasing a microscope. After a few hours of browsing the web, I found your website, and, at that point, we knew we had found the right store and microscope for us. Some of the features I love about this microscope are as follows:1) Integration of Fine Focus knob in to the Coarse Focus knob.2) Wider Stage3) Two sets of eye pieces 10x and 20x4) Trinocular (which means that there is a third tube at the top to put a camera?) 5) This configuration came with a USB camera to attach to your computer.Overall the microscope works well and my kids are learning! If you want the same for your children, buy them this one, dont buy them a toy microscope.I enjoyed their product so much, I spent an additional $$on a Telescope. Science nights have changed around our house!!! :)

[Battery] I love this microscope! It’s easy to view things from fairly low magnification (good for feathers, insect wings, etc) to ultra-high magnification. It’s very user-friendly, once your slide is on the stage you can move it around with precision by using the knobs to control the mechanical stage. My favorite way to use it is by having both the weaker and stronger eyepieces in at the same time, that way I can quickly view two different magnifications

[40 to 400x] I purchased this microscope for my granddaughter, a grade 5 student. As a retired physician with experience in using a microscope, I would judge this instrument an excellent value for its price. The illumination is of the fixed Koehler type, but there are work-arounds and the achromatic objectives are surprisingly good. Photomicrography can be a problem, not because of the microscope itself, but because of the constraints of available instruments. The Celestrone prepared slides are excellent. Richard Headstrom's Adventures with a Microscope can be highly recommended as manual for activities.
