Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do I not shoot wide open all the time?

A: Since the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera cannot control the aperture, the only lenses that can be stopped down would be lenses with a mechanical aperture ring.

Q: 2. will this adapter work with the Mamiya 35mm f3.5 AF (auto focus) lenses?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera will work to physically mount the Mamiya 645AF 35mm F3.5. However, you will not have any aperture control with this setup, and focusing would be done manually.

Q: 3. Will this adaptor work with both Hasselblad CFE and FLE lenses?

A: Yes. The Fotodiox Hasselblad V-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera adapter will work with those lenses.

Q: 4. Can the f stop be adjusted, or is it fixed wide open?

A: The aperture on the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Cameras can be adjusted as there is an aperture ring on the adapter.

Q: 5. Does the blue ring open/close the aperture on the Minolta lens? How to meter without knowing the precise aperture setting?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt/Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Sony A-Mount Lenses to Sony E-Mount Cameras does not provide electronic communication between the Sony/Minolta A-mount lenses and the Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. You cannot control the lens aperture through the blue ring on the adapter because Sony/Minolta A-mount lenses do not have a manual aperture control ring. The lens aperture will revert to its default position, which depends on the lens—it would either be stopped down to its largest f-stop or opened to its smallest f-stop. Even though there is no electronic communication, you can still use the camera metering or a light meter for full exposure information.

Q: 6. What Hasselblad focal length would yield a 30mm Fuji lens equivalent (i.e., 24mm in 35mm terms) when used with this adapter?

A: The crop factor of Fuji G cameras is 0.79 so you would need a 30mm Hasselblad V mount lens to be equivalent to 24mm in 35mm terms. 30 * 0.79 = 23.7mm

Q: 7. Can i use this adapter with a 12mm laowa lens for canon ef?

A: That adapter is for the older Canon FD lenses it will not work with a EF lens. This adapter will let you use a EF lens on a Sony E mount camera. https://bhpho.to/2W5DD1X

Q: 8. I understand this T/S adapter is not going to electronically control a Nikon lens on a Fuji body. Trying to figure out aperture. If I buy an old Nikkor manual focus lens (say 28mm f/2 AI or even non-AI) will the manual aperture ring still work? I am fine figuring out exposure, but don't want to be stuck with a lens that is either wide open or stopped all the way down.

A: Nikon lenses that have an aperture ring, the ring will work with the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Adapter for Nikon F-Mount, G-Type Lens to FUJIFILM X-Mount Camera.

Q: 9. Will this adapter work with the CF lenses?

A: Yes, this will work with Hasselblad CF lenses.

Q: 10. Still not making it clear. I don't want the camera to control the aperture. ???

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera does not control the aperture of the lens.

[Hasselblad X] I am amazed with this TS adapter. It is far better than the other brand that I have been struggling with.
The TLT ROKR has solid lens mounts on both ends and both movements work fine. I will give them an A+

[Hasselblad X] I have been wanting to try one of these tilt/shift lens adapters for a while but was hesitant. I have several older Mamiya lenses and I have been using them with a M645 to XID Fotodiox lens adapter on my Hasselblad X1D. I almost purchased (and may still purchase) one of these adapters for my X1D, but I purchased a new Fujifilm GFX 100s and figured now would be a good time to try one, especially with the 100mb sensor. Now that I have one, I can't believe I didn't purchase one earlier. It is solid and built like a tank. It did take a while to figure out how to use it, but once i got it down, I have had no issues. if you are on the fence about purchasing one, I say go for it.

[Hasselblad X] I love tilt/shift lenses, but they are expensive. A less expensive way to get the same look is a lens made for a larger format combined with a tilt/shift adapter. So I use a FF lens on an APS-C camera and I can use the full range of shift and tilt without getting any vignetting.
The Fotodiox adapter is well-built out of quality aluminum, and I didn't detect and light leaks or loose fitting between adapter and lens or adapter and camera.
This one works very smoothly, the shift function is engaged with the press of a lever, and locks once you release it.
The tilt is locked with a screw, and only moves in one direction, from 0 to 10 but it doesn't tilt in the opposite direction, i.e., no -10 setting.
The entire assembly can be rotated 360 but the tilt and shift cannot be rotated independently. This is a feature found in much more expensive units.
All in all, I'm extremely pleased with this adapter, highly recommended.

[Hasselblad X] I bought it to use with my Canon R5C.
Adapter fits perfectly, and works excellent in every meaning.
Tilt/shift/rotate knobs and movements are smooth and accurate.

I am happy, as I will be able to use my Pentax 645 lenses for all tasks of interior and architectural photography and videography.

[Hasselblad X] I knew that the tilt-shift lens would be a challenge but I found a website called Northlite Images with an enormous amount of information. After several trials, I learned the technique. Which I have to say was well worth the effort. I do product photography for my partner's ETSY website and encounter a myriad of items to photograph I find that the tilt-shift had improved my composition shots right off the bat.

[Hasselblad X] This is a part I bought from Fotodiox to match a lens from B&H. It deserves a review. The adapter is beautifully machined, but with this gear your expectations should be reasonable. There are advantages for architecture and limitations.

You can use varied lenses and the part is light and compact, deciding factors for me. It adjusts four ways including aperture. The screw is for tilt!

The amount of shift you can get away with depends on the lens. For example with my 21mm on f.f. as shown s.o.c.. I get 5mm in landscape mode. (Without shift the tree reaches the top of the frame). That is a useful amount to move the horizon, while keeping perspective. Maximum shift is 10mm, better with longer lenses.

O.t.o.h., you cannot tilt in parallel with shift. That happens at right angles. The part pairs to 35mm sensor optics, not medium format. From weight, precision and price pick any two. Regards, C.

[Hasselblad X] I've had the adapter out for about 4 sessions of testing and getting the hang of using it with my old Canon FD lenses on a Fuji X-T3. It is a bit tricky because the adapter and the lens are fully manual. A key thing for use with Canon FD lenses is the blue ring: turned one way, the lens is wide open, turned the other way, the lens stops down to the f-stop you've selected with the manual lens ring on the lens. Note that you must put the lens on the adapter with the ring set to the wide open position (labelled Install). The adapter is very nicely constructed, with smooth motions. It comes with no front or back caps, and no case, in a very small box (minimal packaging). There is one minor change I would suggest to the designers: there are 4 ticks between the zero and five degree marks, and 4 more between 5 and 10. Maybe when I get the hang of it, I will visually determine the angle setting I need, but right now I am using a chart or table, and it would be nicer to have ticks every 1 degree, instead of every 1.25 degrees. A pretty minor gripe! I have one hypothetical concern: the brass setscrew that you tighten to lock the tilt at a certain angle is rather small. I worry it might break or fail at some point. But this is entirely hypothetical, and there is the reality that there is only so much room to play with on such an adapter -- it all has to fit in the difference between the flange distances of Canon FD and Fuji X mounts. And even the setscrews/knobs on Canon TSE lenses are not very large, so perhaps I shouldn't worry. I am really enjoying the opportunity to work with lens tilt and shift lens for 1/10 the price of a Canon or Nikon TS lens.

[Hasselblad X] Fits my Fuji X-e3 very snugly. Quality metal construction.

Movement in the rotation, tilt, and shift directions is very smooth and precise. The mount will not tilt down if the pin is tightened properly for small lenses. Large telephotos, however, will cause some sag (to be expected).

No light leaks! Great mount adaptor and affords me with 4 tilt-shift lenses now!
Highly recommended!

[Hasselblad X] I got this adapter to be able to keep Pentax 645 (35mm, 45-85mm, 80-160mm) lenses with their lovely color and film-like rendering working for Tilt and shift applications on Sony 61MP sensor. (Focus stacking isn't the best choice for everything). It works very well: the optical quality of the lenses with the adapter's range of movement is satisfyingly and usefully high. The build quality of the adapter is quite good AFAIK, and the machining of the mount is suitably precise for accurate mounting without wobble. The controls and locks are a bit fiddly: like any and every T/S lens, adapter, or view camera I've ever used, and probably require a careful touch. (I expect an idiot could damage it by over-tightening, like any T/S lens or adapter). The tripod mounting foot is absolutely necessary to carry the weight and balance the up to 1.1 kg weight of some of my lenses. And while it’s a bit of a chore to work with the Sony's focus assist and futzing the adapter to get the kind of precision necessary for accurate focus: that's the nature of the beast. Its probably less difficult than my less sharply remembered days with a 4x5, a loupe on the glass, and a cloth over my head: So, well worth the effort for still-lifes or landscapes that benefit from a large format like tilted plane of focus or for big shifts with architecture. I'm quite pleased that FotodioX has made an adapter that is up to the job.

[Hasselblad X] Using this on FF Sony. Bought this to explore some options for a variety of my older Minolta MF lenses. I am still learning the best ways to use the Tilt function to proper effect. The image circle of many of my Minolta MD glass seems to be large enough to cover all but the most extreme shift functions without vignette. APS-C would have little to no problems. If you have some Minolta MD mount glass left from your manual focus days, I would suggest it.
