Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the f stop be adjusted, or is it fixed wide open?

A: The aperture on the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Cameras can be adjusted as there is an aperture ring on the adapter.

Q: 2. The lens has aperture control. Film lenses are open unless stopped down to shooting aperture. Does this stop the lens down?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera cannot control the aperture of the adapted lens. You would need to set the aperture on the lens yourself and use stop down metering.

Q: 3. is it possible to mount a nikon lens on the nikon camera? with this adapter? i have a full frame d750

A: No it is not. This adapter is only for putting Nikon lenses on Fujifilm cameras.

Q: 4. Does this adapter have the ability to stop the lens down to shooting aperture? Does it move the aperture stopdown lever?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera cannot control the aperture of the adapted lens. You would need to set the aperture on the lens yourself and use stop down metering.

Q: 5. I understand this T/S adapter is not going to electronically control a Nikon lens on a Fuji body. Trying to figure out aperture. If I buy an old Nikkor manual focus lens (say 28mm f/2 AI or even non-AI) will the manual aperture ring still work? I am fine figuring out exposure, but don't want to be stuck with a lens that is either wide open or stopped all the way down.

A: Nikon lenses that have an aperture ring, the ring will work with the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Adapter for Nikon F-Mount, G-Type Lens to FUJIFILM X-Mount Camera.

Q: 6. what is the crop factor?

A: The crop factor would be 0.79x.

Q: 7. Can the adapter be shifted and tilted simultaneously?

A: Yes. The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR can be tilted and shifted simultaneously. The tilt and shift features of them are independent and can be operated individually as well as together.

Q: 8. is this adaptor will fit with fujifilm XT100 camera?

A: Yes, this will fit onto the Fujifilm X-T100. Note it is a manual adapter, so you will not have autfocus and the f/stop is controled from the adapter not the camera.

Q: 9. How do we know equivalent ff focal length? Such as is a mamiya 645 35mm same as GFX 35mm and thereby equivalent to 28mm?

A: The FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera does not change the focal length of the lens. Note the GFX cameras are not the same size as the Mamiya 645. It is a touch smaller. So the factor is 0.621. Making the 654 35mm lens on the GFX more like a 22mm lens.

Q: 10. Does this adapter have the ability to stop the lens aperture down or is the aperture wide open all the time?

A: No, the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 645-Mount Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount GFX Camera has no electronic components, so the electronic lens connected must have the aperture set before mounting, if the lens does not have a manual aperture control.

[Nikon Z] This is a part I bought from Fotodiox to match a lens from B&H. It deserves a review. The adapter is beautifully machined, but with this gear your expectations should be reasonable. There are advantages for architecture and limitations.

You can use varied lenses and the part is light and compact, deciding factors for me. It adjusts four ways including aperture. The screw is for tilt!

The amount of shift you can get away with depends on the lens. For example with my 21mm on f.f. as shown s.o.c.. I get 5mm in landscape mode. (Without shift the tree reaches the top of the frame). That is a useful amount to move the horizon, while keeping perspective. Maximum shift is 10mm, better with longer lenses.

O.t.o.h., you cannot tilt in parallel with shift. That happens at right angles. The part pairs to 35mm sensor optics, not medium format. From weight, precision and price pick any two. Regards, C.

[Nikon Z] With so many similar cameras and lenses out there, this is a great way to create with a tool unique gear setup. I originally just wanted to adapt my Nikkor-S 50mm f1.2 lens to my Fujifilm X-E2, just to use the Fuji a bit more. Once I saw tilt-shift was an option, I went for it, and am having a lot of fun with this creative tool. The adapter is easy to use and well built. I look forward to maybe buying more to create new setups!

[Nikon Z] I use this when I do product photography. A lot of times I have to take advantage of the Scheimpflug principal to maximize depth of field on a flat subject. The adapter allows me to do that. Also all the other view camera move like shift are fully functional, with the use of the a full frame Nikkor lens, because of the larger view circle compared to the aps-c lens

[Nikon Z] I knew that the tilt-shift lens would be a challenge but I found a website called Northlite Images with an enormous amount of information. After several trials, I learned the technique. Which I have to say was well worth the effort. I do product photography for my partner's ETSY website and encounter a myriad of items to photograph I find that the tilt-shift had improved my composition shots right off the bat.

[Nikon Z] I have been wanting to try one of these tilt/shift lens adapters for a while but was hesitant. I have several older Mamiya lenses and I have been using them with a M645 to XID Fotodiox lens adapter on my Hasselblad X1D. I almost purchased (and may still purchase) one of these adapters for my X1D, but I purchased a new Fujifilm GFX 100s and figured now would be a good time to try one, especially with the 100mb sensor. Now that I have one, I can't believe I didn't purchase one earlier. It is solid and built like a tank. It did take a while to figure out how to use it, but once i got it down, I have had no issues. if you are on the fence about purchasing one, I say go for it.

[Nikon Z] I bought it to use with my Canon R5C.
Adapter fits perfectly, and works excellent in every meaning.
Tilt/shift/rotate knobs and movements are smooth and accurate.

I am happy, as I will be able to use my Pentax 645 lenses for all tasks of interior and architectural photography and videography.

[Nikon Z] I am amazed with this TS adapter. It is far better than the other brand that I have been struggling with.
The TLT ROKR has solid lens mounts on both ends and both movements work fine. I will give them an A+

[Nikon Z] I got this adapter to be able to keep Pentax 645 (35mm, 45-85mm, 80-160mm) lenses with their lovely color and film-like rendering working for Tilt and shift applications on Sony 61MP sensor. (Focus stacking isn't the best choice for everything). It works very well: the optical quality of the lenses with the adapter's range of movement is satisfyingly and usefully high. The build quality of the adapter is quite good AFAIK, and the machining of the mount is suitably precise for accurate mounting without wobble. The controls and locks are a bit fiddly: like any and every T/S lens, adapter, or view camera I've ever used, and probably require a careful touch. (I expect an idiot could damage it by over-tightening, like any T/S lens or adapter). The tripod mounting foot is absolutely necessary to carry the weight and balance the up to 1.1 kg weight of some of my lenses. And while it’s a bit of a chore to work with the Sony's focus assist and futzing the adapter to get the kind of precision necessary for accurate focus: that's the nature of the beast. Its probably less difficult than my less sharply remembered days with a 4x5, a loupe on the glass, and a cloth over my head: So, well worth the effort for still-lifes or landscapes that benefit from a large format like tilted plane of focus or for big shifts with architecture. I'm quite pleased that FotodioX has made an adapter that is up to the job.
