This iStarUSA 2.5" HDD Hot-Swappable Plastic Rackfrom iStarUSA 2.5" HDD Hot-Swappable Plastic Rackis an economic drive cage solution. It takes a custom size of space to give one 2.5" hot swappable and trayless SATA drive bay. The compact structure is ideal for OEM/ODM projects.

Please note this HDD rack will not fit a standard 3.5" bay.

A: This is the retail boxed version of the Seagate 2TB BarraCuda 5400 rpm SATA 2.5" Internal HDD.

Q: 8. Can you use this for surveillance camera

A: No. This Seagate 8TB BarraCuda SATA III 3.5" Internal HDD (Retail Packaging) would not fit in most if any surveillance camera. If you are looking to use it in a surveillance recorder (DVR/NVR), you would really want a surveillance rated drive.

Q: 9. What's the difference between retail and oem?

A: WD will not honor the warranty of OEM drives. I am just learning this the hard way with 5 WD Red drives that I bought from B&H less than 2 years ago. Strangely, the listing and my receipt do not say that they are OEM but WD does. I was only trying to register them online a month ago, not having a problem. B&H ought to be a little more forthcoming about this.

Q: 10. Maximum capacity of hand drives (how many Tb max) ?

A: The highest memory size hard drive this unit would support would be 12TB. As this has 5 bays it would support 5 x12TB.

[1x 2.5"] Sturdy Wallmount rack that doesn't wobble. The adjustable depth is great so there's room for power cords. It even has hinges to swing out patch panels for easy wiring. I've used dozens of these, and haven't found anything else that even comes close. 5

[1x 2.5"] I started out with this before I quickly realized I was going to go all out for a home lab and got a 16U with casters. I currently have this one sitting on top of the 16U and it will go to use at some point. I put rubber feet on it and it's a solid, sturdy unit. 5
