The Microtech Gefell M 1030 Cardioid Condenser Micis a large-diaphragm, solid-state condenser microphone offering premium performance in a space-saving design. With ultralow self-noise, wide dynamic range, and extremely high SPL handling, the M 1030 is well suited for pristine voice recording and instrument miking in studios and radio stations.

The compact housing, which contains current semiconductor circuit technology including a transistor amplifier, features a standard 3-pin XLR output connector and can be mounted in the supplied mic holder or the EA 92 elastic suspension (available separately). The large-diaphragm capsule utilizes a PE diaphragm and a cardioid polar pattern, making it both sensitive and directional. Since the M 1030 operates on 48V phantom power from your mic preamp, it requires no external power supply unit.

Q: 5. No headphone jack? If recording with a modern iPhone, no way to monitor except maybe high latency bluetooth headphones.

A: The MK4 is a large diaphragm condenser mic which requires 48V phantom power. It can not be connected directly to an iPhone. However, you can connect it to an audio interface that is compatible with the iPhone and one that supplies phantom power such as the IK Multimedia iRig Pro I/O Audio and MIDI Interface for Mac, Windows & iOS (B&H # IKIPIRIGPROI). The MK4 will connect to the input on the interface and then the interface will connect to your iPhone's Lightning port. The interface has a built-in 3.5mm stereo headphone jack with its own level control to monitor the audio.

Q: 6. Does this mic work with Nikon d3300 camera? Dose it mount directly on the shoe or do you need a special mount?

Q: 8. So this comes with a mic and the furry thing to go over it?

A: Yes, this kit comes with the mic, shock mount, furry windscreen, two output cables, and a carrying pouch.

Q: 9. Will this work for the BMPCC4K

A: No, the BOYA BY-MM1 Mini Cardioid Condenser Microphone is not compatible for direct connection to the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The BY-MM1 requires plug-in power which the camera does not provide through its 3.5mm mic input. As another option, you may want to consider the BOYA BY-BM3011 Camera-Mount Cardioid Shotgun Microphone ( B&H # BOBYBM3011) or the Opteka VM-8 Directional Mini-Shotgun Microphone (B&H # OPOPVM8) which both operate using a single AAA battery and are around the same price. Any other battery-powered mic with a 3.5mm TRS connector will also work with the BMPCC4K.

Q: 10. Will this connect directly into my Mac or do I need some sort of converter?

A: You will need an audio interface or audio mixer to provide power to the microphone as well as an XLR cable to connect the mic to one of those devices. The audio interface or audio mixer can then be connected to your computer and be recognized as an audio device.

[Nickel] Purchased two SM81-LC - Cardioid Condenser Mic by Shure to use for drum overheads. The bomb! These mics do not color the sound. What you hear when you play is what you will hear out of the mixer. Fantastic mics. I don't have any other instrument condensers to compare them to, and I will never need to. It couldn't get any better than this. I'm using recorderman setup with two additional mics on bass drum and bottom of snare. This is perfect for recording drums. Sounds fantastic on conga too!

[Nickel] I bought this to complete a stereo pair to record chamber music and clarinet. This mic records sound very accurately, and is perfect for my use. Easy 5 stars and recommendation for the price.

[Solid-State] Got while it was 40% off - great sound. Much preferred over the TLM 102/103. It's super sensitive to plosives/handling noise - so that's been a learning curve but I am very happy I made the investment.
