The Manfrotto 504X Fluid Video Head with 635 FAST Tripodfrom Manfrotto 504X Fluid Video Head with 635 FAST Tripodfeatures an open bridge design that provides a stable, smooth performance while reducing weight. The head's patented bridge technology allows for a wider top surface and longer sliding plate that add stability and balance. The head features a flat base with a 3/8"-16 female mounting thread that allows compatibility with a wide range of tripods, monopods, sliders, jibs, and dollies, and a variety of rigs.

With its ability to support up to 26.5 lb, the 504X can be used with a variety of video and photo cameras and rigs. The pan and tilt counterbalance system includes four presets from 0 to 4.8 to 9.7 to 14.3 lb, enabling proper balance no matter what the camera's size or weight.

At the same time, variable friction components with clearly marked degree scales and vibration-free movement bring new levels of fine-tuning to your tilts and pans. A leveling bubble keeps horizons from tilting, even in the dark, while independent disc-brake locks make sure the head stays secure when at rest.

Whether you're using a pro camcorder or an accessorized DSLR, the 504X provides a 504PLONGR-1 sliding quick release plate with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads to balance the camera properly on your rig. The head is made from durable aluminum and includes a pan bar that can be attached via rosettes on either the right or left side to help create smooth pan-and-tilt movements.

[6.085 lb] This is my second Fluid head . What can I really say about this new Manfrotto 504 x Fluid head ? Smooth as Silk.... Wonderful panning and easy control. Maneuvering lock and release of all function are a breeze. I have it on my Gitzo fits right on the top of the plate, No need to purchase a Bowl Adapter any more.. Photo is my set-up Sigma 300 2.8 EX DG HSM with Canon 5D MARK IV. John Joulakian I do not do video I will use it for Photography, This works better then any ball heads . [Yes] This video head is well made and very smooth. I had doubts about the four step counterbalance, but so far no problems. This video head is not small or light, especially compared to photo heads. However, it works great and is built like a tank. I expect this will last for many years to come. 5

[Fluid Head] I took a chance in I took a chance with this new model after reading many negative reviews. I'm glad I did. It is fingertip smooth and with just a little bit of brake drag, it handles with a light touch for positioning at any point. It also has no wipback. Give this one a try. My rig weighs in at 7.7 Lbs. 5

[14.5 x 9.8 x 8"] The FAST system greatly simplifies and speeds up the raising and lowering of the tripod, which is fantastic! The twist leg adjusters are quick and easy and I can't imagine myself going back to the old way of raising and lowering a tripod. However, at the same time, I feel like there are some real improvements that can be made to the system. I'd love to see a more rubberized grip on the twist adjusters, as the current ones are a harsh texturized plastic and I'm really not loving their feel. The carbon fiber legs are sturdy and strong, but I'd love to have a FAST tripod that's not quite so heavy. I'm a 5'2 female with a rigged out camera, so the weight of the tripod is key to my being able to maneuver it. I'll be selling this set of legs and purchasing a lighter weight FAST if it comes available. My last comment, I have had an issue with legs untwisting themselves in transit and extending on me when the tripod is folded and I'm carting it around or getting in and out of the bag. This has been a bit annoying and quite awkward at times but I'm willing to live with it for the exchange of the simpler leg extension design. 5

[Yes] Love Manfrotto Tripods. They are so durable and hardy!! This model offers alot. Has a counter balance, vertical and horizontal drag. Also offers a level bubble with a light. Mid level spreader included. 5

[Yes] I have this and 645. 645 is my favorite ever for sure. However, this one is just as sturdy. Very well built. It's quick to extend. Literally seconds. Probably be at your desired height in less than 10 seconds as you get familiar. However, the twist lock of the legs are easy to turn accidentally when moving it around. Because of inertia, holding them by it may make it rotated and then extend out more by accident. So be sure to lock them tight enough, and move them around by anywhere other than the rotating tubes. If you do that, you'll be happy. 5
