This white JVC KY-PZ100 PTZ NDI Streaming Kit with IP Controllerfrom JVC KY-PZ100 PTZ NDI Streaming Kit with IP Controllercan be used as a single camera or part of a multi-camera shoot. It features a 1/2.8" sensor and captures 1080i/p and 720p footage to a microSDHC/SDXC card slot (microSD card not included). The PTZ camera features 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs and can simultaneously output video while streaming over its Ethernet port or an optional USB Wi-Fi adapter or LTE modem.

The KY-PZ100 supports RS-232C, RS-422 control signals and IP control via its RJ45 connector (Ethernet port). You can program over 100 presets and positions into the camera, which enables you to pre-plan your show. The camera can be mounted on either a tripod or ceiling, and with its POE capability you don't need to worry about running an AC power cord.

Q: 1. Is the iris control smooth, or is it a series of click presets?

A: The smoothness of the Iris should depend on the camera you are using with this unit and how it is set up. However this unit should allow you to go from f-stop to f-stop just as you would with any camera.

Q: 2. What's the power needed to run this camera. Need to get the right poe switch

A: To supply power to this unit, use a DC 12V or PoE+ (IEEE802.3 Type2) power. Make sure you have the correct voltage. You can also use the supplied AC adapter for the DC 12 V power supply.

Q: 3. Can this controller be used to control other brands PTZ cameras? Eg Panasonic AW-UE70

A: We would be of the opinion that no, it would not be able to operate other brands of PTZ cameras. If you have a Panasonic AW-EU70 we would suggest using the Panasonic Remote Camera Controller B&H # PAAWRP50.

Q: 4. Can this controller operate with the JVC LS300 and other JVC IP camcorders?

A: Yes. These cameras and the ATEM switcher offer 422 CCU control.

Q: 6. Is it compatible with camera controller on Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K?

A: The PanTiltZoom iOS app is only intended for use of PTZOptics cameras, as per the manufacturer. We do not recommend using this app with the JVC KY-PZ200 HD PTZ Remote Camera with 20x Optical Zoom.

Q: 9. When using this with the JVC KY-PZ100 Robotic PTZ Network Video Production Camera, do I need a network router in the mix, or just a PoE switch to connect the cameras? That is, can I have just this controller and the cameras attached to a switch as a standalone setup?

[12x] I use this controller for up to three PTZ 30x cameras, via PoE Ethernet. Nearly every feature of the camera is accessible through this controller. Besides pan, tilt and zoom, I regularly use manual exposure control, and up to 10 preset positions for each camera. A particularly nice feature is the ability to attach an HDMI monitor to view the currently selected camera via Ethernet RTSP. You set the speed one notch below that of your HDMI or SDI video. This is an essential feature when working with software (e.g., WireCast) or hardware (e.g., SlingStudio) which has a significant lag time. The monitor lag is only a few frames, which is easy to accommodate. I ultimately bought two Superjoy controllers, because I rely on it for nearly every job. 5

[30x] We use this in a church sanctuary to control three PTZ cameras. Previously, we had PTZ's IP SuperController, which was frankly, a pretty bad experience. We took a chance one this newer iteration and we love it. Solidly built, responds well, controls what we need and most importantly has not once had to reboot itself at the slightest static shock. 5
