This Haida Drop-In ND Filter M10 Holder 16.5-Stopfrom Haida Drop-In ND Filter M10 Holder 16.5-Stopprovides a 16.5-stop exposure reduction across the entire image area, allowing a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required to be used. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping you to shoot with shallow depth of field.

This drop-in filter is made specifically to fit the Haida M10 Filter Holder System. It is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity, and does not affect the color of the image. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes 10-layers of anti-reflection multicoating. The additional nano coating provides an improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for easier cleaning.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

[5 x 5 x 1"] Made from aluminum and fits in very precisely to the M10 holder, this is a quality filter. I really like the whole M10 system, and this is one of the best filters in that line.

[5 x 5 x 1"] Allows for very low ISOs to photograph the Sun. The color tone is slightly warm, but easy to adjust in editing software. The top row of this image is with this 16.5 stop filter and the lower images are with the 20 stop Haida filter. Sony A7r3 and Sony 200-600mm lens.

[0.22 lb] I purchased the Haida setup to help capture the 2024 total solar eclipse. It worked out surprisingly well. There were no light leaks and it was fairly easy to manipulate. And since then, I've captured some other images of the sun during this active sunspot cycle.

[Multi Coated] Filter worked great for photographing the sun before and during today’s eclipse! JPEGs straight from my camera from using it are attached, and I’m thrilled that this filter came through on such a rare and time sensitive event.
