The black Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Lectrosonics Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Lectrosonics Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version is ideal for use as a head mic in theater. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3-Pin XLR connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics UH200d, UH400, and UH400a wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used in combination with earphones for phone calls?

A: Not to be used for phone calls. The in-line connector hosts a 1/8 TRRS and a dedicated switch that allows you to connect your headphones for monitoring your recording or a second iRig Mic Lav.

Q: 2. Is the 3.5mm plug compatible with the mic input of a SONY PCM-D100 recorder?

A: No. This is meant to be used with a Sony wireless system.

Q: 3. How i setup Lectrosonics SNA600a or Sennheiser A2003UHFwith Sennheiser Reiceiver 112G3? Is it feasible?

A: The SNA600a is like a slide rule. You loosen the screws and adjust the length so it matches the scale to the frequency you are operation on. Then tighten the screws and rotate the 2 arms so they are at 90 degreed to the scale. The Sennheiser antenna is not adjustable and covers the whole of the UHF range. These are 2 different kinds of antennas. The SNA600a is omnidirectional and the Sennheiser A2003UHF is directional. Which one is best would depend on the situation you are working in. Think of an omnidirectional mic vs. a cardioid. They have different pickup patterns and serve different purposes.

Q: 4. Does this have a limiter or at least dual-level ability like the far cheaper Tascam DR10L? I see things I like about it but with my talent flying solo out there it would be nice to at least equal the Tascam in reassurance for me.

A: Split Gain mode records two different tracks, one at the normal level and another at -18 dB as a “safety” track that can be used in place of the normal track in the event that overload distortion (clipping) has occurred on the normal track—up to 23 hours on a 32GB card. The recorder allows for a wide range of input gain adjustments for mic- to line-level signals.

Q: 5. Is this mic compatible with a Sony URXP03 receiver?

A: Microphones do not work with receivers. This microphone will work with most SONY wireless bodypack transmitters.

Q: 6. What format does it record in?

A: The Saramonic Blink 500 ProX TXR Transmitter/Recorder records in Wav format.

Q: 7. What is the shortest focal length lens that can be used with the ACTUS-B6 (Sony E-mount) that will focus at infinity with the bellows contracted?

A: With the standard bellows the Cambo Actar 24mm is the most common, widest angle lens, that will allow for infinity focus with that combination.

Q: 8. Does anyone know if this mic could be connected to other devices, e.g cameras, recorders, if a 3.5mm TRRS to TRS adaptor was used?

A: Unfortunately it has not be tested, and can not confirm operation on a device other than smartphones however, using the proper adapter, the mic should function when connected to a device that is able to supply power to the mic. When adapting however, the headphone connection on the unit will not operate.

Q: 9. Does the product come in a hard case, for easy transport?

A: The product does not include any case other than the retail box it comes in.

Q: 10. Is there any way to use this with an iPhone 12 pro that doesn't have a plug in spot?

A: Yes. You can use the iPhone 12 Pro with the IK Multimedia iRig Video Creator Bundle All-in-One Streaming Setup for Smartphones. All you need is the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) which will allow you to connect the IK Multimedia iRig Mic Lavalier Mic (B&H # IKLMSPT) that is included with the kit to the Lightning port on the iPhone.

[Plug-In Power] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear.

[1 to 2 V] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.

[1 to 2 V] I used this to replace the mic that comes with a Sennheiser ew 100 G4 and love the size. I have used a Countryman B3 wired mic for years.

[Black] I like these wireless mics better than the Sanken COS11-D that I previously bought for my Lectrosonics L Series. They may not have the fidelity of the Sanken mics, but they are very clear sounding with nice low end presence (without it being too much). I prefer these lavs over others for their all around great sound while being extremely durable.. These can withstand heavy use, while the Sanken COS11-D metal windscreen quickly was scraped and dented in regular use.

[1 to 2 V] Absolutely amazing. Super small. Easy to set up and use. Crisp clean audio without any adjustments in post. And very good at reducing noise and clothing rustle. I'm in love with these. GOOD AUDIO MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

[Omnidirectional] Needed a quality mic to record some interviews for a historical video series. Paired with my Sennheisser system, this little mic worked great. This is my 3rd Countryman mic and all seem solid. I'm happy with it.

[Black] I love these, I have been using them for a decade. They are very versatile: hair worn, over the ear with a purchase or home made rig or as a lavalier unit. Great response and clarity and very durable.
