It is made of aluminum with a focus on sturdiness, and it has a hollow design, so it is lightweight. [13.8" / 35 cm] I did not use this clamp for photography, but instead a mounting clamp to attach a shooting table to my wheelchair. I shoot 10m Air Rifle with aspirations for making the Paralympics and needed a small quick-disconnect clamp to mount the extruded aluminum table. The Impact Atom clamp works perfectly for holding a stable platform and if I'm lucky, you'll see it during the Paralympics in Rio or at least in Tokyo 4 yrs later! [13.8" / 35 cm] This little guy has been a great time saving investment. It's easy on the pocket book and allows me to easily add or remove my LED lights from my monopod when shooting on the go digital stills or hd video. It takes just a few seconds to clamp down and works great. With the male to male 1/4 adapter screw, it easily held my 7 field monitor in place! It's built rock solid and I'm looking forward to picking up a few more in the coming weeks! 5
