Minox 8x26 X-Lite Binoculars Compact Lightweight Opticsdesigned their Minox 8x26 X-Lite Binoculars Compact Lightweight Opticsto be your go-to optic for all of your outdoor activities.

Their 8x power brings your subject in close for observation while preserving a comfortable exit pupil and eye relief, making them ideal for bird watching, hiking, and sightseeing. The 26mm objectives keep the form factor highly compact and light to easily fit in most pockets, packs, and bags without weighing you down. This combination of power and objective size make these comfortable binoculars to carry, hold, and use all day long without causing fatigue or eyestrain. Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics and phase-corrected K9 roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity.

Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to cut weight without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy, while the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance—so the X-Lite will be more comfortable than you if the weather takes a turn to cold and wet.

Q: 1. dose it come with BAK 4 glass ?

A: The Vortex 8x26 Vanquish Binoculars do feature BAK 4 glass.

Q: 2. Do the vortex binoculars come with lifetime warrenty

A: Yes it does. All come with VIP unlimited, unconditional lifetime warranty. No receipts, no registrations. Just get a form from their website, put it in a box and send it in.

Q: 3. Will this light work with Pentax K5 DSLR?

A: According to Tiffen This light will work with any camera that has a flash shoe mount. It is not an ETTL flash, the camera will make the flash fire but cannot control the light intensity being projected. The user will have to adjust his camera settings to match the flash output manually. This flash also works as a constant light for video applications.

Q: 4. What are the main differences between X-Active 8x25 and the older Minox BV 8x25 (62059) they replace? I compared the specs and can see the X-Active are a few ounces lighter but not much else. Are there any differences in terms of optics?

A: Its a newer coating and a newer procedure on putting the coatings on. Better image color results and improvement in light transmission

Q: 5. Willthis work for nikon d300 spec?

A: As far as I can tell it will work with any camera that has a hotshoe.

Q: 6. How durable is this product? Does it produce enough light for macro and for use on a mini cam corder?

A: The Lowel Lowel Go Lite Compact LED Light well constructed and sturdy. Its 54 super bright LEDs.will be perfect for adding light when used on a Mirrorless camera or camcorder.

Q: 7. Can this unit accommodate a Sony HDR-CX405 HD Handycam with a Vello CB-600 Straight Flash Bracket attached? How about this same unit attached to a Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 Digital with the straight bracket.?

Q: 8. Is the flash output adjustable?

A: Yes, the flash output is adjustable. There are 10-step dimming. The Kalvin temperature is not adjustable.

Q: 9. Are the roof prisms in the Minox 8-44 X-HD phase-coated?

A: Dielectric-Coated Roof Prisms. This type of coatings are found on roof prisms of binocular and are there to increase light reflectivity - As the light is incident at a glass–air boundary with an angle less than the critical angle, total internal reflection does not occur at that surface. To solve this problem, a mirror coating is used on those surfaces. To quantify typically an aluminium mirror coating is used that has a reflectivity of 87% to 93%) or a silver mirror coating (reflectivity of 95% to 98%) is used. The light transmission of the prism can be improved by using a dielectric coating rather than a metallic mirror coating. This causes the prism surfaces to act as a dielectric mirror. The dielectric multilayer coating increases reflectivity from the prism surfaces by acting as a distributed Bragg reflector. A well-designed dielectric coating can provide a reflectivity of more than 99% across the visible light spectrum.

Q: 10. What is the kelvin temperature without the adapters?. Is it daylight?

A: The Kelvin color temperature of the Lowel Go Lite Compact LED Light without any filter is 5500K. It is daylight.

[3.25 mm] Super compact and lightweight. The glass is as good as any high cost glass I've ever looked through. No artifacts. Depth and color is perfect. I wear glasses and these binoculars cause no issues for me at all. My friend w/o glasses was also surprised at how clean and clear the view is through these. I'm thrilled with the performance of these binos.

[26 mm] my second pair, one for outside home, one for inside use.

[3.25 mm] Sturdy, compact, light weight. Has rubber lens covers for the ocular and objective lenses, and comes with a fabric case, cleaning cloth and very nice padded neck strap. The strap could easily handle a much heavier binoc and is consequently too bulky to fit in the case. I replaced the strap with a neck cord which works fine on such a light weight binocular and fits in the case. Clarity is very good, but with my glasses 13mm eye relief is inadequate, and I doubt 15mm would be much better. I see the full field of view without glasses, so will be using without. I have a large head and the inter-pupillary distance when the tubes are close to full separation is ok. The focus wheel works well. Overall, seems a quality unit.

[3.25 mm] As with so many others, we were looking for a light-weight binoc. for travel and as a side issue, we wanted durability and some degree of water resistance because we'll also be using them around water. Preliminary use has been positive, even our 9-yr old could use them with ease. We have an older equivalent pair of Nikon -- and the sight through the Vortex is superior. Appreciated the fast, reliable service of B&H, too.

[1.165 lb] I really struggled with the choice for a small pair of waterproof hiking/kayaking binocs...so many choices. I decided on a reverse porro and liked the look of the Vortex. I had these in my hands about fifteen minutes and fell in love with them. So comfortable to hold and look through, and the view is awesome. I was torn between the 10x and the 8x, and in the end decided on the 8x and am so glad I did. I couldn't be more pleased.

[3.25 mm] These are bigger than a pair of Nikon compacts I have but the small weight and size disanvantage is negligible. The quality of the image and ease of acquiring your subject and focusing quickly is well worth it. We have two pairs of these. I liked my wife's pair so much that I sold the Nikons and bought another pair of these. They also have an incredible waranty.
