Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination that is optimized for low-light use, the Minox 8x56 X-lite Binoculars | High-Performance Opticscombine an ergonomic form factor with important optical features to give you an optic that offers performance from the predawn hours all the way through past dusk.

The binoculars 8x power brings your subject in close for observation while presenting an ultrawide exit pupil and extra-long eye relief, making them ideal for bird watching, hiking, and sightseeing. The massive 56mm objectives keep the views bright and sharp even in low and challenging light like at dawn and dusk or under heavy cloud cover or forest canopies. Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics and phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity.

Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to offset the weight of the front lenses without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy, while the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance—so the X-Lite binoculars will be more comfortable than yourself if the weather takes a turn to cold and wet.

Q: 10. Are the roof prisms in the Minox 8-44 X-HD phase-coated?

A: Dielectric-Coated Roof Prisms. This type of coatings are found on roof prisms of binocular and are there to increase light reflectivity - As the light is incident at a glass–air boundary with an angle less than the critical angle, total internal reflection does not occur at that surface. To solve this problem, a mirror coating is used on those surfaces. To quantify typically an aluminium mirror coating is used that has a reflectivity of 87% to 93%) or a silver mirror coating (reflectivity of 95% to 98%) is used. The light transmission of the prism can be improved by using a dielectric coating rather than a metallic mirror coating. This causes the prism surfaces to act as a dielectric mirror. The dielectric multilayer coating increases reflectivity from the prism surfaces by acting as a distributed Bragg reflector. A well-designed dielectric coating can provide a reflectivity of more than 99% across the visible light spectrum.

[56 mm] This pair of binoculars is phenomenal. I purchased them to maximize my low light viewing for hunting, fishing, and bird watching and they have exceeded my expectations. My deer hunting does not involve super long distances so the 8X magnification is perfect. The binoculars are also amazing in bright light. You will not be disappointed for whatever use you can imagine for them.

[56 mm] Absolutely great glass. I've used a lot of different glass over my life and the Burris Signature HD 12x50 is outstanding. Great clarity, well-built, and durable.

[Yes] I used these binos for the last two years and finished an Alaskan moose hunt with them this September. They have performed very well. There is a little low light blur compared to some of the high end stuff I’ve used, but that would be comparing apples to oranges. For the price these offer a great value. Some people might say the lighter feel seems less durable but I sure appreciate the lighter weight hanging in my bino harness when we’re out all day and those things are hanging on me for 12-14 hours. Having these with me this week we’re key to being able to judge some of the bulls we saw.

[8x] These bino's are outstanding quality for the price point. The fit/finish is top notch and I really like the design. Super clear, easy to focus and has great eye relief for with/without sunglasses. I'm hooked on Burris, the quality of the optics I have from them are all in par with optics I spent almost twice as much for. Couldn't recommend them more.

[7 mm] Hello,
I bought this Signature HD 12 X 50mm and I simply Love this thing. I’m going to use it for Hunting and other outings. I will now be looking to Burris for all my future purchases. Not to mention that a Company that backs their products the way Burris does is saying a lot about a Company that Believes in their products.
Thank You Burris…
