Carry your camera bag and other necessities with the 30L Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 Black 30Lin black from Peak Design. This versatile bag is designed for photographers, multimedia creators, or anyone seeking a pack that is size adjustable and compressible. Multiple magnetic latches on the top flap allow you to adjust the height of the pack from 20.4 to 24.5". The interior has three dividers so you can stack items in the main compartment. The dividers have foldout surfaces that can be configured to cushion and hold items against the pack's zippered side openings. The side openings are positioned to face you when the bag is rotated from back to front with either side facing upward. The dividers allow you to choose which items are most quickly accessed from the sides.

The pack interior has a zippered sleeve with dedicated pockets for a 12.9" tablet computer, a 16" laptop, chargers, and cables. Store and organize batteries, memory cards, small electronics, or personal items in slip and zippered pockets on the side opening interiors. The exterior of each side opening features a large open pocket for a water bottle, tripod, or umbrella. Each side pocket also has exterior carry straps with gear loops. Long exterior carry straps and additional gear loops along the surface of the pack attach equipment, accessories, or packable clothing against the front panel. These straps can also be used to attach items to the bottom of the pack.

Carry the pack with the wide, built-in top and side handles or wear it with the adjustable shoulder straps. For heavy loads, use the sternum strap to distribute the weight more evenly. The shoulder straps can be magnetically fastened against the rear panel when not in use and an integrated trolley sleeve mounts the pack to the handle of your rolling luggage for seamless travel.

Featuring durable nylon construction, this pack is weather resistant and has a waterproof bottom panel for further protection.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would 30L version fit under airline seats?

A: Different airlines have different requirements, however, based on the 'universal requirements' of 18 x 14 x 8 inches, the Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (Midnight, 30L) is too big to be an under the seat item.

Q: 2. How does this compare to the mindshift or mckinnon - cross-shopping all 3?

A: Unfortunately, all bags have their merits and it's hard to do a precise comparison of all three based on your use case. I'd recommend giving us a call or live-chatting with us and we can discuss them and potentially other options that would suit your needs!

Q: 3. does it fit z9 with 150-600 lens?

A: The Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (30L, Black) is large enough to fit the Z9 with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens (Nikon Z) attached. Note you will need to take most of the partitions out of the backpack.

Q: 4. Will this fit a Sony a7iv with 70-200GM1 attached(hood reversed)? Width-wise (not vertically)?

A: Yes the Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (30L, Black) will hold a Sony a7iv with 70-200 G1 from the side pocket. The dividers are movable to make a bit more room if needed.

Q: 5. Is this bag approved by the airlines? Fitting under the seat or overhead?

A: You will have to check with your airline; however, the standard carry-on size is 22 x 14 x 9". The Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (Midnight, 30L) is 24.41 x 14.17 x 7.8". So, it may not be taken as a carry-on for most airlines.

Q: 6. Has anyone else had any issues with the sternum straps or shoulder straps loosening up on their own? My straps have started to loosen up on their own and it happens all the time.

A: There have not been any reported issues with straps loosening on the Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (30L, Black).

Q: 7. Can this bag carry a Mirrorless with battery grip? Something along the lines of a Z9 for example?

A: Absolutely! The Everyday Backpack can definitely accommodate a battery-gripped mirrorless body.

Q: 8. How water resistant is it?

A: The Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 is constructed from a weather-resistant nylon, and features a waterproof bottom panel. If you want the entire bag to be waterproof, it is suggested to get a separate rain cover.

Q: 9. I like this back, but it is difficult to configure the dividers in such a way that all my Nikon Z 7II great is secure and not shifting around. I tried a Domke insert on a few trips, it worked OK, but Domke compartments a bit small for wide angle zooms. Are there any other solutions? Peak Design cubes do not seem to be made for this bag.

A: You can use wraps to protect your gear--even with extra room in a pack, wraps will keep cameras and lenses safe: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/16163-REG/Domke_722_19R_19x19_Color_Coded_Protective.html

Q: 10. How are the side entries for using camera gear? I’m coming from the more traditional camera backpack, curious if anyone can share their experience.

A: The side entries are very convenient and practical to use, just slide the bag around to the side or front and access the gear, very easy.

[Yes] Also, huge shout out to Rob K in the chats for the recommendation. B&H your staff is what keeps me coming back. Give everyone a bonus please.

Now onto the review of the bag.

Pros: 30L v2 is extremely comfortable and holds my A7iii, Sigma art DG DN 24-70 2.8, extra batteries, some vintage lenses with room to grow. Tripod fits great in the side pocket and a 1L water bottle snug and secure.

Everything is well thought out and the dividers really are a bonus.

Tested it in the rain and my gear was dry!

Cons: price. It's not a cheap bag but honestly shouldn't be at what you're getting.

Works as advertised.

[Yes] Im really happy with this bag. First of all, it's aesthetically really sharp. Second, the back and straps really nicely padded for comfort. I've taken this on a few long hikes and it's been great. Third, and most importantly, it fits all my gear. I really love the cubby hole style system for organization. The pockets in the side are good for small items and the outside pockets can easily fit a water bottle. Probably my favorite thing is the the built in straps that tuck away nicely. I use the straps on the bottom to attach my travel tripod to the bag. The only downside to being able to fit all my gear is that I always end up bringing all my gear, even stuff I definitely won't use, leaving me to lug around a bag that's twice as heavy as it should be. But that's a me problem.

[Black] This bag has so many great features, yet it still has a couple areas that it could be improved. For instance some of the inner packets could be mesh fabric so you could see what's inside the pockets. And the divider system could use some improvement and additions. I found it hard to setup the divider system for my camera and lens kit, because the easy popup dividers didn't do their job when the backpack was put on, then turned onto it's side to enter the compartments. Smaller Items like Flash, extra batteries, filters, wireless remote, would rattle around between dividers.
The features I particularly like are the tripod pocket, straps and anchor points to attach items to the outside of the bag, weather proof, mostly quiet latch to enter the top of the bag, easy strap adjustments, and overall look of the bag.

[Yes] I've been able to use this bag for school, carrying lunch, multiple note books, binder, computer, etc. and still have no weight or space problems. Easily transformable into a camera bag to hold a large R5 with battery extender rig and a Sigma 150-600, again with no weight or tiring problems. Magnets everywhere make things super sleek and easy to use. Reliable so far, no complaints.

[Yes] This is since I got the bag my every day backpack! Perfect to go to work and fit my laptop, lunchbox, tech pouch. In the weekends when I'm out shooting the dividers help me to carry my camera, lenses and drone. No worries when rain surprises me, it's just weatherproof. Love this bag.

[Universal] Functions great by itself. Holds five lens and one body and still extra space for a 3L sling bag for light travel. Aesthetically matches other PD product such as silver Capture and the PD Tripod case.

[Yes] This bag is the perfect combination of functionality and durability. I have used it extensively on airplanes, and it fits nicely under the front seat. It is very water resistant, and even when it's soaked by the rain, my laptop remained dry, and the other compartments had only minor dampness.

It can also be easily used as a single bag for traveling, as the customizable compartments can easily become 1 unified space, accessible from 3 sides.

[Black] I have used a 20-L Everyday V1 bag for years-school, vacation, business trips, hiking, you name it-and have ZERO complaints. It's tough: I've put it through the ringer, yet it still looks right-out-of-the-box new. It's water resistant: it's been soaked in rain more than just a few times, and my tech has never gotten wet. It's versatile: when I jump from one task to another-work to hiking, for example-I just rearrange the interior "shelves" to suit my purpose. It has more space than one might think: when working, I take a 15" laptop, 13" tablet, notebook, lunchbox, and water. When hiking, I take a DSLR, two lenses, a 13" tablet, a first-aid kit, snacks, and water. And it's well-structured: it can stand up on it's own-a BIG plus for any bag-and it's very easily organized. I bought the 30L Everyday V2 bag simply for the extra space. It's just as awesome as the V1, with only a couple of notable differences. While the V1 bag has more pockets in the interior sidewalls, some of those pockets in the V2 are easier to access. Also, the V2 has magnetic latches in the straps, which secure them to the body when not in use-very convenient. To my knowledge, there is no backpack that I'd rather use. It's expensive but worth it.

[Yes] Beautiful, functional, durable. I carry mostly video editing gear (15 laptop, lots of external hard drives and SSD's, various cables and chargers, mouse) and some camera gear (memory cards, batteries, camera parts). It holds a ton of stuff, keeps everything neatly organized, and looks great. It's pricey but I'd buy more of them
