Nothing brings low frequency content alive with clarity and precision quite like a Genelec subwoofer. The F One is able to reproduce low frequencies right down to 35 Hz with very low distortion—even at high SPLs—while its onboard room response controls and bass management allow you to precisely tailor the performance of your system to your room, enabling your main speakers to focus more efficiently on the rest of the frequency spectrum.

The F One also features analog, optical, and digital coaxial inputs, automatic input detection, and a range of remote control options, making it the ultimate hub for your home audio system. The system playback level can then be conveniently controlled by the F One's wireless volume control, and the subwoofer is also capable of learning IR remote control commands and supporting an optional wired volume control.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. poor bass response?

A: The bass drivers are quite small. You may want to consider a system that includes a separate subwoofer. At any rate this soundbar will sound better than most of the audio systems built into televisions.

Q: 2. My sound bar doesn't have any buttons for Bluetooth or wifi

A: You would use those functions on the included remote control that comes with the LG SK1 40W Stereo Soundbar.

Q: 3. Which do you recommend 8240APM or 8040BPM? ( I'm not mixing engineer. It's for my own project from composing to mastering by myself.?

A: the genelec 8040b i bought a pair and it was the best decision of my whole life the sound is flat but is the real sound obviously you need to start to fix your room with auralex and accoustic things

Q: 4. What's the difference between this (besides color) and https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1542976-REG/genelec_f1bwm_f_one_subwoofer_white.html ?

A: The white one also has coaxial and optical digital options, which the black one does not have.

Q: 5. Please advise if the Genelec 8020.LSE ESPRESSO Active 5.1 Monitoring System has a 220V power supply?

A: Our units ship as 120 VAC units only and cannot be externally switched.

Q: 6. Hello! Is this used subwoofer black or white? Because the photo is the black one. Thanks

A: This Audioengine S8 8" 250W Subwoofer (Black) BH #AUAS8B • MFR #S8 BLACK would be in the color Black. But we do offer it in White, BH #AUAS8W • MFR #S8 WHITE

Q: 7. Will these do OK at a distance of 3 to 4 meters from the speakers? Want to use it in a medium size bedroom.

A: Thanks. That page doesn’t speak about the distance between speakers and listener — just between speakers and walls, and angles among all the three. For this price the info should be more accurate: at what distance from the speakers does the quality fall off? There are reviewers who say they attach these speakers to TVs in their living rooms. Are they in such tiny rooms that their TV is 2 meters away from them? I doubt it. This is the info I need: would 4 meters be too much for these speakers costing thousands? 5 meters? What’s the number?

Q: 8. The price is for two monitors?

A: Genelecs are always priced singly; multiply the price by two if you want a pair. If you've never heard Genelec monitors, then you probably will think they're overpriced. But if you have discerning ears, and you do an A-B comparison between any Genelec and any other monitor of equivalent size, you will immediately hear the difference...and it's not subtle; it's not merely obvious, it's startling. Put another way, if you CAN'T hear the difference, you don't need to be spending money on Genelecs. Buy something cheaper. But if you want the best audio monitors in the world, nothing else even comes close.

Q: 9. does it come with the white version?

A: unfortunately, Genelec F One 6.5" 40W Active Subwoofer (White) is no longer available.

Q: 10. The red light comes on but it doesn't connect to my phone?

A: Press the Bluetooth button on the LG sound bar remote.

[40 W Peak] I've been using Genelecs in my edit suite for over 23 years and I've never purchased a sub until recently. Mixing for broadcast, the sub is overkill, right? WRONG! It make mixes come alive and my clients love the added fullness.

[16.895 lb] I bought the 8010's to have some portability when traveling and producing electronic music. They have a roll off at 65 HZ, just where bass gets beefy. Considering the size of the 8010's they do an excellent job in the mid and high frequency range...but they seriously lack in the deep end. I have since supplemented them by adding the 7040A and the difference is astounding. Yes, this sub has weight to it, isn't exactly small and the idea of portability is somewhat limited now but I'd do what is necessary to bring this baby along for the ride. I'm talking fullness across the board when combined with the 8010's that could well stand up to my home studio near fields.

[85 Hz] I have this subwoofer paired with the Genelec 8020D's. It is a perfect match. It provides accurate punchy base, but not overpowering. My listening area is in a corner, but with the provided adjustment dip switches in the back I was able to tailor the bass to my liking.

[Black] I run and operate a busy color suite in South Florida. As a full-time Colorist my first and only concern is helping my clients achieve their vision by making their film and video projects look color perfect.But.I recently wanted to add big theater sound. But - how to do that on a budget, and within the physical limitations of a medium size color suite. Enter Genelec. The 7040A Studio Subwoofer by Genelec is the perfect companion for the 8010's. Easy to set up. Easy to calibrate for your needs. I will always remember my first Genelec moment. As my client's movie trailer played on my color monitor - the 2.1 sound blew me across the room. Close your eyes and you won't believe that this kind of sound is coming out of speakers this small. The 7040A Studio Subwoofer is the key to it all. That - my friend - are the Pros. The Cons? Only one, I can think of: the dip switches. I'm used to volume controls - so it took a bit more fiddling around than I thought I would need to get the sound the way I wanted. The manuals for both speakers and Genelec's website come up short on the kind of help that I needed. It took a little time. But once I understood the dip switch ecosystem - I was good to go.That said - the 7040A Studio Subwoofer by Genelec is a great buy. And, combined with the 8010's - you have one POWERFUL 2.1 audio system. That. Should. Blow. You. Away.Best, Jim --------

[Aluminum] I am a video editor and I use these with 8010's and I couldn't be happier. They bring my projects to life. I am totally sold on Genelecs and I will be buying bigger and better speakers from them when it makes sense. This simple setup with the Apogee Duet connected to my Mac Pro is more than i need but everything that I want. Being able to immerse yourself in your project is very important to making it he best it can be. Having sound as punchy and clear as this is integral to finding my creative flow state.

[85 Hz] For being a small enough to seemingly hide under a desk, the whole room can accurately hear, and feel, lows in the studio sound system.

[1 (Down-Firing)] I have been mixing in the professional environment for over 30 years. I mostly do film and have a small editing suite in my house. This is the perfect addition for a small mix room to accurately monitor low end frequencies. It will keep you from being surprised when your films or videos, show and play on big systems!
You won't be sorry you bought this!

[Yes] I spent a long time looking into various 5.1 surround bass management solutions that would work with regular Windows audio as well as audio through a DAW for studio and game development use. There are various software solutions for each, but most would not give consistent results between Windows system and DAW audio.

I started looking for either a bass management hardware unit (some add latency) or a surround controller with bass management (way more expensive than this sub), then came upon the few Genelec subwoofers which have built-in surround bass management.

I only have a 5.1 surround system so I chose this sub, and am happy I did so. While the cost is higher than I would like, there aren't that many other subs that handle surround bass management, and it handles both bass management and LFE duties well. The manual is comprehensive, and there are little switches and a knob on the side that allow you to customize rolloff, boosts, power saving, 4 phases, and sensitivity.

Noise floor is very low, and it pumps out enough oomph for my calibrated small home studio even with the largest rolloff as well as the lowest input sensitivity. I'm not using it to shake the house, but rather to hear the lowest frequencies correctly while mixing and listening to all kinds of stuff. It's also smaller than some other subs, and that's a plus for my room as well.

I don't really have anything to complain about for this sub other than Genelec's pricing, but since there are few subs that handle surround bass management and I didn't find any cheaper than this, it is what it is. Great product.

[Class-D] The 8030C is a fine speaker but it struggles below 90Hz and is hopeless below 60. The 7050C works perfectly with a pair of 8030C. Setting up the phase and sensitivity took maybe 5 minutes. Getting it out of the box took longer. If you have a set of Genelec monitors, especially the 8030 or smaller models, this sub is a no-brainer.
