The black Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Shure Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Shure Wireless Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as in presentations or sermons. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can this microphone work with external voice recorders such as Zoom h1n?

A: No, the Shure CVL Centraverse Cardioid Lavalier Microphone is not compatible for direct connection to the Zoom H1n Portable Handy Recorder. The CVL has a TA4F (4-pin mini-XLR female) connector and the input on the recorder is 3.5mm TRS. In order to use the CVL, you would need to use the Shure Wired TwinPlex Microphone Preamp with Belt Clip - TA4F to XLR (B&H # SHRPM400TQG) together with a phantom power supply such as the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery (B&H # XVP1), and an XLR female to 3.5mm TRS male cable like the Kopul XRSM 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA Stereo Mini-Plug Cable - 1.5' (B&H # KOXRSM015B).

Q: 2. Can you replace the cardioid mics with omni directional mics?

A: Yes, there are many omnidirectional replacement lavaliers compatible for use with the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System. The microphones in this system are not currently able to be swapped pre-purchase, but additional mics could be added. The following link shows currently listed omnidirectional lavalier options from Shure, which is a small sampling of potentially compatible omni microphones: https://bhpho.to/3977fE5

Q: 3. Do these work with the paddle antennas to get more range or help with interference?

A: No, the Shure BLX88 receiver included with the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System has built-in internal antennas and is not able to connect to external antennas. For this option, you will want to consider using the Shure BLX4R, SLX-D, QLX-D, and ULX-D series receivers.

Q: 4. is any of the three available frequency bands less vulnerable to interference? I want to use them in a deposition setting that changes from day to day from high end conference rooms to witnesses homes.

A: I can't speak to the 3 different band versions, but I can say that each version has a wide array of sub-bands you can choose from. Further more, the receiver has a function where you can have it select the sub-band with the least amount of interference -- it scans every band and then sets itself to the cleanest one. You then just set the transmitter to match. It has worked very well for me.

Q: 5. Does this come with a windscreen for the mic?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 6. Can you adapt the XLR or 1/4 To go into a computer 3.5 mic jack safely without risk of damaging the computer or do I need something like a Scarlet And if I can adapt it without a scarlet witch adapter should I use I know the basics but I don’t know if the output of the mic is TS TRS TRRS

A: The best practice for connecting a mic to a computer would be through an audio interface like a Focusrite Scarlett or similar product. This will allow for better sound conversation to the computer, and lower noise possibilities.

Q: 7. Will these work for stage singing, i.e., a musical with four singers, in both open spaces and closed venues? Thanks

A: This system could be a viable option for stage performance, but it depends on a few factors. First, know you will need 4 of these systems to allow for 4 wireless mics to run at the same time. Second, you would need to confirm which frequencies are available in your performance area, this would tell you what frequency ranges to use and whether this system can hand 4 mics at one time. This can be done using Shure's Wireless Frequency Finder. We would recommend giving us a call at 800-606-6969 to assist in finding that information. Lastly for musicals, you'd probably want a lower profile lav mic you could hide on the performers head, or in a costume. Here's a recommendation for that type of mic BH #SHTL47TOMTQG.

Q: 8. Is this suitable for use with the MXW1 bodypack or do you need the WL185 instead?

A: Yes, the Shure MX185 Cardioid Wired Lavalier Microphone, with its XLR preamplifier removed, is compatible for use with the Shure MXW1 Hybrid Bodypack Transmitter with Microphone.

Q: 9. Can this system be upgraded to a multi-channel system?

A: The BLX series is offered as a single or dual channel system only. There is no way to upgrade a single channel system, however multiple single systems can be purchased for a multi-user system.

Q: 10. Does this come with a hard case or soft case? Or just retail packaging

A: The Shure BLX wireless system comes in the original retail packaging and does not include a case. We do have a Gator Cases Carry Bag for Shure BLX Dual-Channel Wireless System (B&H # GAGMDUALW) which is sold separately.

[0.46 lb] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.

[1 to 2 V] Very good in general - great for the cost. The B3 pairs well with the Senheisser G3 wireless packs. It sounds better than 'starter' mics like the ME2. Sanken sounds a bit better but costs a lot more. I think the B3 is in the sweet spot for moderate budget TV and film. The capsule tips included help shape the sound.
