Standard 24-105mm zoom is designed for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 36-157.5mm equivalent focal length range.

Constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range.

Four aspherical elements, including two made from extra-low dispersion glass, help to minimize distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range in order to maintain edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination.

One ultra extra-low dispersion element and two extra-low dispersion elements greatly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing in order to produce a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.

Macro design provides half life-size 1:2 magnification ratio and a minimum focusing distance of 11.8" for working with close-up subjects.

Optical Image Stabilizer minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting, and also supports 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 for increased stabilization performance.

AF/MF switch permits quick changing between focusing modes and a zoom lock switch can be used to prevent the lens from extending when not in use.

Splash, dust, and freezeproof design benefits working in inclement weather conditions down to -14°F.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

[0.5x] It's the all important workhorse lens that most full frame shooters must have in the bag, and it's a good one. I bought the S1 for video use and this came in the kit. The f/4 is fine for me on the S1 and still gives some nice shallow depth of field at the long end. The stabilizer is great and while it's a larger lens it's weight is very manageable. While I wait for more affordable lens options to become available it's perfect for getting comfortable using the S1 in everyday use.

[Autofocus] Having owned the Lumix dc-s1r now for close to two years and taken 2000 plus photos using 8 of their Lumix lenses I own, I thought I would clarify this lens for those who may snub it like I did. When first released without the film-ware update I had major problems with accurate focus etc. The renditions were not even close to the Lumix 50mm f1.4 prime lens I owned. Last month , after shooting fall landscapes for a week, I placed it back on the camera having the new film-ware. My original reservations by and large have vanished and I found myself enjoying photography without changing lenses as often. The 24mm widest range is really pretty sharp and I find the 105mm to be a great match for an occasional quick portrait. Wide open or stopped down this lens performs at about 85% to 90%quality of the 4 additional Lumix zooms I own. The macro is actually better than I tested before and the lens, along with the stabilization is really a portable dream to use. Color is excellent and out of focus areas are not bad at all. Just thought I should share my original reservations and final conclusions.

[84° to 23°] I have been using it on Leica TL2. I'm very happy with it. It works on APS-C.

[f/4] Caveat: This is not a perfect lens—no lens is. It isn't the sharpest lens for pixel peepers, but it is sharp.

This lens is light. Its AF is fast, smooth, and accurate. Its bokeh isn't too far off a 2.8 lens. The OIS is solid. The macro function is surprisingly good. It's weather-sealed. It feels like a modern-day, high-quality lens. (Nothing is like the old metal MF lenses in build quality.)

It will do 90% of what 90% of people need 90% of the time at 90% perfection- I did that on purpose. It is a tough call between this and a 24(28)-70mm f2.8. I got this due to the extra reach. Plus, at 105 at f/4, lens compression beats a 70mm at f/2.8. Plus, I like a bit of overlap in my lenses if possible.

If this lens fits your needs, buy it. There is nothing missing here. 2.8 bokeh and light gathering don't hold a big practical advantage over this f/4 lens (even when not considering the price, size, and weight!). When I need low light or Shallow DOF, I grab one of Panny's excellent 1.8 primes. There is a noticeable difference at f/1.8- f/2.0.

This lens and the 85mm f/1.8 would be a tremendous do-everything combo, allowing portraiture work. Then, build out your lens selection from there.

[77 mm (Front)] This Panasonic 24/105 F4 lens takes great photos as well as being a great video lens! You can still get some nice bokeh at F4 to 5.6, the background is soft and pleasing to the eye of course!! Great starter lens for the S1R or the SL2!

[84° to 23°] This is the most versatile lens I've ever owned. Very good AF and fairly small for what it is.

[f/4] Got a Panasonic S9 and wanted a faster lens with more range than the 20-60 that came with the camera. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't balance on that small reflex but it works out better than I thought it would. It's good, high quality glass and I'm very pleased with it.
