Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use the Sony UWP-D27 to wirelessly feed a Sony A7s from my mixer’s two channel output?

A: Yes, the UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless System can be used to send a line signal from the left and right outputs of your mixer to your Sony a7s Mirrorless Camera. The 2 x UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitters can send the independent left and right outputs of your mixer to the URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver. The left and right outputs of the URX-P41D Receiver can then send a stereo line signal to your Sony a7s Mirrorless Camera by utilizing the XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter Kit (sold separately).

Q: 2. Is the dual audio output compatible with mirrorless cameras like the Nikon Z9? Or how would I input both mics to the camera? I'm trying to go an interview style film with 2 talents. Thank you.

A: Yes, the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is compatible for use with the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera. You would connect the output from the receiver to the camera's 3.5mm mic input using the included 3.5mm to locking 3.5mm cable and the audio from both microphones will be recorded by the camera along with the video.

Q: 3. If I already own a UC14 receiver with two transmitters, should I get another set for UC14 or should I get a different frequency band?

A: I would base the decision of whether to get another Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System on the same frequency range on how well your current system works. If you find frequencies are always readily available, and the range works well in your area, it may be sensible to get another system on the same range. The UWP-D27 has 2,772 potential frequencies, so adding two for a total of four would not necessarily be detrimental. On the other hand, another frequency range adds versatility if the existing system sometimes struggles to find open channels.

Q: 4. Is it at all possible to use this system with on a Red Komodo?

A: Yes, the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be used with the RED KOMODO Digital Cinema Camera.

Q: 5. What frequency would you recommend for Washington DC?

A: Radio activity varies by day, but for crowded metropolitan areas the UC90 band of the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is usually safest.

Q: 6. How do the sony mics sound compared to the sennheiser (g3,g4)?

A: The Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is an excellent wireless microphone system and very comparable to the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System. Both systems are very popular, however, Sennheiser does not offer a dual-channel camera-mount receiver, so for a camera-mount system with two transmitters, the Sony UWP-D27 is a great option.

Q: 7. Does the receiver have enough audio output to power a line level signal?

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver in the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System has an output level adjustment in its Menu options. You can set the level in 3 dB increments from –12 dB to +12 dB (full line level).

Q: 8. Can I use the Sony UWP-D27 for audio shooting with an iPhone 15 Max Pro with the Tilta system?

A: The Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is not designed for use with smart phones. You would require both a TRS to TRRS adapter and the appropriate digital input adapter for your phone.

Q: 9. I own this and want to add a handheld mic to that works with the receiver. Which handheld wireless works best with it?

A: You can use the Sony UTX-M40 Wireless Handheld Cardioid Microphone Transmitter that works in the same frequency band as the URX-P41D receiver (BH #SOUTXM4014). This is made by Sony, for direct compatibility with the URX-P41D receiver. Please keep in mind that you can only use up to 2 wireless transmitters with the URX-P41D receiver at a time.

Q: 10. What would be your frequency recommendation for someone who is traveling a lot in the U.S. (mostly in the midwest but occasionally the coasts)?

A: Any of these frequency bands will work just fine anywhere in North America under current FCC regulations. Part of the reason there are different bands is so that you can use many systems at the same time and within the same space so that they do not interfere with each other. Another reason is if you are going to be using the system in a place where there are already many other wireless systems, you can choose the one that resides outside of the frequency band that those systems run in, to avoid interference with those systems. If you are not going to be in a space where there is already a lot of wireless traffic, then any of these will work just fine, up to 300 feet line of sight between the transmitters and the receiver.

[Cocoa] I've mostly had middle grade lav mics. Not the worst but not the best. This mic is so great I wish I would have just bought this sooner and saved myself so much hassle.

Because of the size of the mic I can put on talent so much easier. There's way less rustling noise, which was the biggest challenge with the cheaper mics and the biggest frustration in even using lav mics.

This mic makes me want to use it in all situations now. If I had a shotgun interview situation I use to want to have a safety lav mic but didn't want to deal with the hassle of the other mics. Now I'm happy I'll have both shotgun and lav for my interviews. And for walk and talk stuff I know I'll have less post hassle in that this mic will be clear and clean audio with little if none of noise issues.

[1 to 2 V] I've been using B6 mics for a long time now for film. They sound great and are very easy to hide due to the tiny capsule.
I'm not sure DPA and Sanken Cos 11d have been dethroned yet, but this guy is on par as far as I'm concerned--especially considering the ease of hiding it.

[1 to 2 V] With an extremely low profile omnidirectional head, this is one of the best lav style mics I have ever used, and I have used them for over 20 years.

[Omnidirectional] Love the skinny cable and tiny mic on this lav. The carrying case is great, along with all the different response caps. Really warm, natural tones, my new favorite!

[Omnidirectional] I'm an independent video producer, and this mic has been a terrific addition to my kit. It's incredibly easy to hide and has great quality sound. I use it with my Zoom (but make sure Phantom Power is on, since the mic doesn't come with it's own power source!), and it's a great set-up.

[Plug-In Power] We were hoping to get a second Sanken cos-11D to have matching mics, but that mic has been on backorder for some time now. Needed a second mic for a job and we gave the Countryman B6 a shot. Very happy with its performance. And the case, accessories that come with it make it that much more valuable. They offer the mic for pretty much every receiver available. It was definitely worth it and we might possibly be looking at purchasing more Countryman B6 mics in the future.

[Omnidirectional] I am a pastor and I have used different types of wireless mics; but I must say that I am totally sold on this system. Clear crisp sound. Great!!
