Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Q: 1. How do I record sound with this mic?

A: Hi,, good question. You see that tiny end there... you would buy the appropriate cord in the length you want to fit the input you choose. The wireless systems do different ends. Probably with a high-end product many opt for a wireless unit. Also, you need phantom power since it has no battery to boost the signal. All that is normal for quality audio. I have a plug in unit that supplies phantom power and I have a battery unit which was $20 I think. Yes, it seems like a lot to worry about. Those wireless units do it all in one. A mic like this can have an xlr end. They make it so you buy the end you want to have for this mic. In my case I have the phantom power in my sony recorder, too. The way to sync camera (poor) audio and recorder audio is with a program such as Red Giant Plural Eyes; that is worth owning. Hope this helped. Good audio to a must. No one wants to listen to poor audio. in school they taught us that audio is the one attribute that must be good or else...

Q: 2. What's the impedance on the headphone connector?

A: This headset connection on this mic would be best used with a headphone around 32 ohms.

Q: 3. My friend gave me his but neither him or I know if it has to have a specific program to work, does it? And can I just plug it in and will it work for iPhone 6plus voice memo?

A: It will need an adapter from Rode to convert it to work with the iPhone. I have found this to be a very good mic.

Q: 4. Will this work with a laptop? Need the adapter MICON-2? Does a laptop have the 1v power on its mic input?

A: The Rode Lavalier requires 2 to 5V of plug-in power for operation. It would be best to use a USB audio interface that has a dedicated mic input with a preamp. The interface can supply the proper amount of power for optimum performance and control of the mic. For the MiCon adapter, use the Rode MiCon 5 Connector for Rode MiCon Microphones - XLR (B&H # ROMICON5) which provides an XLR connector and allows the mic to connect to a standard XLR input. For a very basic interface, you can the Polsen XLR-USB-48 XLR to USB Audio Interface (B&H # POXLRUSB48) which is compatible with Mac and Windows, and no drivers are required. It also features a headphone jack with level control for monitoring and the USB cable is included. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat for further assistance and we can help you to find the best options for your application.

Q: 5. IS THERE ANY DEAD CAT that reduces sound noise?

A: The Sony ECM-LV1 Compact Stereo Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm TRS Connector comes with a foam windscreen to help reduce the impact of noise from light wind, however due to its unique form factor there is no specific, more heavy duty windjammer for this microphone.

Q: 6. Can I use this mic to convert spoken word to text on an iPhone 12 much like SIRI does?

A: Yes, when connected to an iPhone, the Polsen MO-IPL2 Lavalier Microphone with Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack for iOS Devices will replace the phone's internal microphone but should function with applications in the same manner otherwise.

Q: 7. Is possible to buy only the original sony windscreen for this microphone?

A: No, the windscreen for the Sony ECMLV1 Compact Stereo Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm TRS Connector is not available for purchase on its own.

Q: 8. Can this be used in combination with earphones for phone calls?

A: Yes. I used it with Samsung Galaxy Note 5 by attaching samsung headphone on the Mic Lav headphone jack and it works line a normal headphone with mic.

Q: 9. Can I use it with my iPhone adapter?

A: This is a stereo microphone, and will not work well with most TRRS adapters. I would recommend considering a mic like this instead: https://bhpho.to/3aH09Dn

Q: 10. If I shoot video with the iPhone without any app will this lavaliere work? Is it a plug-in and play?

A: Yes, the Polsen MO-IPL2 Lavalier Microphone Kit for iOS Devices is able to serve as audio source when recording video with the iPhone Camera app.

[Plug-In Power] I've been using B6 mics for a long time now for film. They sound great and are very easy to hide due to the tiny capsule.
I'm not sure DPA and Sanken Cos 11d have been dethroned yet, but this guy is on par as far as I'm concerned--especially considering the ease of hiding it.

[Cocoa] We were hoping to get a second Sanken cos-11D to have matching mics, but that mic has been on backorder for some time now. Needed a second mic for a job and we gave the Countryman B6 a shot. Very happy with its performance. And the case, accessories that come with it make it that much more valuable. They offer the mic for pretty much every receiver available. It was definitely worth it and we might possibly be looking at purchasing more Countryman B6 mics in the future.

[Cocoa] Love the skinny cable and tiny mic on this lav. The carrying case is great, along with all the different response caps. Really warm, natural tones, my new favorite!

[Cocoa] As a keyboard accompanist and supporting vocalist, I found it impossible to play my best when glued to a boom mic. I tried wireless but found it clumsy and the sound quality unreliable. Then I found this mic online. Yes, I have to remember not to stand up and walk away when it's clipped on, but it's well worth that effort. This wired lavalier has all the sound quality of a wired handheld and no wireless worries.

[Plug-In Power] Great sounding and incredibly invisible lav. I use it in docs for interviews or in narrative film for actors with tiny voices and wide shots where you can't get the boom close in. It is tiny, easy to hide and sounds quite good, especially combined with a pro wireless system like a Lectro.

[Cocoa] After using one of these on another film crew, I marveled at it's small size, big sound and the ability to hide it. As soon as I got home I bought one. I've used this on two client shoots already and the sound is great. Client's love it because the lav is almost invisible while the talent was walking around the set. Next time I need to mic more than one person, I'll probably buy another one - it's that good.

[Plug-In Power] Didn't take long listening to my audio track to realize that I got exactly what I needed in my interview and it sounded exactly like I wanted it to when I was shopping for a lav mic. The results speak for themselves and they don't disappoint.

[Cocoa] I'm an independent video producer, and this mic has been a terrific addition to my kit. It's incredibly easy to hide and has great quality sound. I use it with my Zoom (but make sure Phantom Power is on, since the mic doesn't come with it's own power source!), and it's a great set-up.
