Offering light intensity, color, and power options, the Smith-Victor Edge360 13" Bi-Color LED Light Kithas a circular form factor that renders natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subject as well as a soft, flattering quality of light, thanks to its built-in diffuser and edge-lit LEDs. Color is variable from 3200 to 5600K to seamlessly integrate into any ambient light condition, match other fixtures, or for creative expression. The light's high CRI rating of 95 indicates advanced proficiency in accurate color rendering. The Edge360 is dimmable too, from 0 to 100% without flicker to save you the bother of jockeying the light back and forth for the required light intensity. And while it draws only 45W of power, the Edge360 outputs the equivalent of a 360W tungsten flood fixture.

The Edge360 is ready for worldwide use via its included 100 to 240 VAC adapter, but it also has two NP-F slots for separately purchased batteries to accommodate situations where AC power is unavailable. The Edge360 is provided with a padded carry case for storage and transport.

A: The housing on the Smith Victor Edge360 is comprised of plastic.

Q: 2. Does this have a fan in it and does the fan make enough noise to be picked up by an on camera mic?

A: The information we have on the Smith-Victor Bi-Color On-Camera Ring Light is that that is passive. So, it does not have a fan.

A: Watts are a measure of energy usage. Lux are a measure of brightness output. The luminous output at 1 meter of the Smith-Victor Edge360 18" Daylight LED is 1600 lux. This is roughly equal to the same luminous output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb.

A: The length of the load , (the section that the camera is attached to), according to Smith Victor, is 7.9". The Smith-Victor Bi-Color On-Camera Ring Light works with two Sony NP batteries, as well as the AC option using the AC power adapter. At this point there is no adapter from NP to V mount.

Q: 5. Is this light suitable for content creation? (Ex. Youtube, Twitch, Facebook)

Q: 8. What parts are needed to adapt this unit's rail system to a Manfrotto PL200 q.c. socket?

A: Since the rail mount has a female 3/8-16” thread and your Manfrotto 200PL plate has a 1/4-20” male thread, you would need a Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing B&H # OB1039 to reduce the thread size on the rail mount to hold the Manfrotto plate. https://bhpho.to/2KJTdu6

Q: 9. Is the casing metal or plastic?

A: The casting on the Smith-Victor Bi-Color On-Camera Ring Light is plastic.

Q: 10. Can I mount an iPhone to this ?

A: Smith-Victor Bi-Color On-Camera Ring Light was design for camera with lenses that have a tall profile. You can use different accesorias to make this ring light work with a smarts but it will be limited and your smart-phone will probably need an add on lens to avoid vignetting since the ring is to narrow and deep for most smartphone built in lenses.

[100°] I'm not super into equipment and I've never reviewed any of my purchases before, but I think this light deserves it. For my simpler shoots where I don't want to set up my Aputure 300d and light dome, this is doing the trick SO WELL. It's so tidy and cool looking and streamlined and the output, to me, seems great. My only complaint is that the 1% level is actually kinda bright!

[Yes] Just received this a week or so ago. I shopped through the many similar lights and there were many available for less money but this one appeared to be of superior quality for a reasonable amount of money. So far I'm not disappointed. As long as you don't require battery use this one offers a larger diameter than most in its price range with a pleasing quality of light. My uses include some product shots and main lighting for computer camera Zoom/FaceTime etc.

[CRI 95] Love the soft light produced by this light is like having a softbox setup but way easier. Now I have a pretty portable setup using this one and the 13” Edge 360. Perfect for interviews and even light a photo session.

[5.35 lb] I love this ring light, its so bright that I have to put it on 10%, it had different white temperatures and you can use 2 Sony batteries, but I use a mount battery that plugs into the barrel jack port instead so taht my camera fits flush on it. it is heavy, but with my camera on it and all the pieces it weighs about 4 lbs.. I did have to buy different rods 15mm because the one it comes with are super long like 8

[45 W ] I had some smaller rectangular, side lite LED lights that have been using that are LEDGO or something, which are also good, but not as bright and not round. This should make nice catchlights in the eyes if I use it in such a way. I wish there was a nice power block tether like the LEDGO lights have. Kind of a rubber thing that hangs off a knob on the light stand to keep the power brick from dangling. I think this had some velcro that came with it but that's defiantly not the same or as good.

I actually haven't tried it with the batteries yet, but I assume it would be the same. If not, I will report back and take off at least one star if not.
I know they make a color temp variable version too. I wish this would have been it, but it was on sale and I can deal with daylight balanced light.

[45 W ] The color temp of this LED light is 5500 - not higher and not lower - for all 3 of the ones that I own. The color rendition for skin tone is excellent on my Sony A7S3. I have used two as a Key pushed though a silk. The color and the overall light is excellent. I only wish they made a brighter (more output) version. Maybe a 24 will be their next one and I would buy it if it ever happened!

[Passive] The color output and brightness is enough for me. It's big and have removable batteries, which is nice if you have backup.
