Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Needing to connect to existing Telex intercom system. Can I connect this directly to a Telex PS15 by building my own DB25 cable or do I need an interface (Telex DSI-2008) to make them work together?

A: The connections to the Fiber Converter require a 4 wire interface. You would need a 2 wire to 4 wire interface. Then build a custom cable with DB-25 for our end and whatever the 4 wire interface needs.

Q: 2. If i have a 5 camera set up how many fibre converters do I need?

A: You will need a Camera Fiber Converter and Studio Fiber Converter for each camera.

Q: 3. Is there a single mode Fiber Camera Extension for black magic? If these are at a stadium and my control room is 1/2 mile away?

A: Currently there is no Blackmagic single mode fiber extension for the Blackmagic Design Studio Fiber Converter. You may wish to consider the Sony Single Mode Fiber Camera Extension Adapter BH #SOHDCE100 • MFR #HDCE100.

Q: 4. Anyone have issues while filming 4K? Fotodiox will not work while filming in 4K, and the camera freezes up.

A: YES Work Perfect. I use with Canon lens and atomos assassin

Q: 5. Will an ATEM switcher control tally via ethernet or do you still need to run a GPI Tally Interface for these?

A: The ATEM switcher provides tally over the SDI connection. You connect the ATEM Program out to the Studio Fiber Converter SDI input #1 and assign a camera number. The camera will get tally in this way. You may optionally wire a 3rd party tally to the DB-25 connector but that has nothing to do with the ATEM and is not necessary.

Q: 6. The manual doesn't have any info on the audio outputs, I assume they are Balance and Line level?

A: Yes, the audio inputs of the DIGITAL FORECAST X-MC Mini Cross Converter are balanced and line level.

Q: 7. I have a Sony A7ii. And i'm looking for a 105mm f2.8 macro sigma lens. So will it work with mc-11 adapter?

A: Should work fine. I haven't found many lenses that dont. The autofocus might be touchy but if you're doing macro work you dont need autofocus anyway. Manual focus/focus peaking will be much more accurate for that line of work.

Q: 8. Does the Talkback 4K come with the Fiber connector as pictured in your description for the Talkback 4K interface? Can I connect BMD Talkback 4K Fiber Connectors to the BMD Studio Fiber connector and have intercom at the BMD URSA Broadcaster Camera Fiber back?

A: The Talkback 4K does not include fiber SFP modules, they can be purchased separately: 3G - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/654839-REG/Blackmagic_Design_ADPT_3GBI_OPT_Adaptor_3G_BD_SFP.html 6G - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1076394-REG/blackmagic_design_adpt_6gbi_opt_adapter_6g_bd.html 12G - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1447935-REG/blackmagic_design_adpt_12gbi_opt_12g_bd_sfp_optical.html Yes, you can connect the Talkback 4K to the Studio Converter to get talkback on an URSA Broadcast camera with a Fiber Converter attached. You will need an ATEM switcher to pass the talkback channels through. Newer ATEM switchers have talkback built in, so you only need the Talkback 4K if you're using an older model. Consult your manual to see if your ATEM model has talkback built in.

Q: 9. If I used this with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 on Sony a6500.. would it be safe to use in rainy weather?

A: I would avoid using any lens or camera in rainy weather without proper cover.

Q: 10. Are these hardware version 2 or newer? They need to be to be compatible with the TL-MC1400 and TL-FC1420 rack mount chassis.

A: The TP-Link MC220L Gigabit SFP Media Converter BH #TPMC220L version we are offering are V4.6 or later.

[0.885 lb] Works well with USB 3 and USB 2 (and below) devices, which is rare. The vast majority of optical USB cables available work with only one or the other. (A USB3-only cable won't transfer USB2 traffic even with a hub on the remote end supporting both.) This cable is transparent to almost all my USB devices, including a scanner that didn't work on a usb-over-ethernet extender previously. The only thing that hasn't worked through it for me was a bluetooth adapter -- though I'm not sure if that's due to the cable or the hub I have attached to it. If it matters to anyone, this cable shows up as 1a40:0101 Terminus Technology Inc. Hub.

[SFP] I am impressed to say the least. I brought two units and they are being used well over 500 feet. I have had no issues with signal degrading. I highly recommend this unit if you need to tranfer data over a very long distance.
