The cocoa Countryman E2 Unidirectional Earset Microphone XLR Cocoafrom Countryman E2 Unidirectional Earset Microphone XLR Cocoais an over-the-ear earset, similar to a classic E6 earset but with a shorter boom designed to work with theater, live stage, and studio systems. It provides suitable isolation at the mouth, but with less visibility than an E6 Omni earset, and can be used to capture audio for general speaking and vocal applications.

With an equalizing circuit built into the audio connector, the frequency response is tuned so you can experience full-bodied bass and precise highs that are warm and natural. The element, boom, and sub-miniature connector are all easily hidden from the user's face. The boom position near the ear helps to eliminate breath pops and vocal plosives on the mic.

The E2 Earset redefines pure sound in a virtually invisible package. It offers better ease of use than a lavalier or podium microphone.

There are two aspects of the E2 design that make it possible to capture sound so far away from the mouth: strong off-axis rejection and precisely tuned frequency response. For on-axis interference, the frequency response tuning in the connector of the E2 allows you to fully capitalize on the proximity boosting effect of the mic to achieve even stronger isolation in the voice band.

Like the connector for the industry-standard E6, the E2's connector is built tougher and more water resistant than previous models.

Lower gain, for powerful vocals requiring the highest overload.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What do I need to connect these mikes to a Zoom/MacMini teleconferencing system?

A: The Unidirectional Table Top Wireless Microphone from Revolabs is intended for use with Revolab's HD series wireless microphone and conference systems.

Q: 2. Is the microphone mono or stereo?

A: This is a mono microphone. It is a single channel.

Q: 3. can I use this with sony pxw-x70. is this too short??? Some thing else better than this mic.Sony ????

A: This mic would be compatible with the Sony PXW-X70. There are many others that would also be compatible, however the correct mic would depend on your particular needs.

Q: 4. does the back come off of this model?

A: No it does not. There is no reason that the microphone should be opened at all. It is rechargeable if it is placed in the charger base and will last up to 8 hours per charge. I would strongly advise you do not attempt to open the microphone as it you may well void the warranty. If it needs servicing please contact the manufacturer.

Q: 5. I have a JVC GY-HM170UA camera and bought this microphone, but the camera does not recognize, all possible tests and still the same. Can anybody help me?

A: It would be difficult to determine what the issue may be. The mic requires phantom power to operate. This is provided by the camera when Input is set to the MIC+48V setting. This would be the most commonly overlooked. If you require assistance with your purchase, please feel free to email a Pro Video Representative here at provideo@bandh.com They will be best equipped to assist you.

Q: 6. how long is the cable?

A: Hi, the cable is 4.1 feet. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 7. how would this compare to MKE 600 or AT875R ?

A: In terms of specifications, the three mics do have differences in the way they perform, how they are powered, as well as in their physical size and features. The Panasonic AG-MC200G Unidirectional Microphone is 6.38" (162 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 160 Hz to 20 Hz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -40 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 69 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone is 6.89" (175 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 90 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -30 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 74 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone is a longer mic that can operate using either phantom power or a single AA battery and it has a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. The MKE 600 is 10.08" (256 mm) long and it has a frequency response range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 132 dB when using phantom power and 126 dB when using battery, a sensitivity level of 21 mV/Pa with phantom power and 19 mV/Pa with battery power, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB with phantom power and 78 dB with battery power. The frequency response range is the output range for the audio that the mic is able to reproduce and the maximum sound pressure level is the level of the loudest sounds that the mic can reproduce. The sensitivity rating is the amount of output gain for the input (a higher negative number indicates that the mic is less sensitive than a mic with a lower negative number), and the signal-to-noise ratio is the level of the desired sound compared to the unwanted noise (a higher number indicates a stronger audio signal with less noise).

Q: 8. Has anyone used these microphones for sound reinforcement in a small courtroom?

A: We have customers who have used these microphones in courtrooms and municipal meetings with great success..The microphone is designed to be placed flat on a conference table, features a unidirectional pickup pattern with a pickup area of +/- 45. The design is also impervious to noise caused by Radio Frequency Interference (RFI), so it can used with confidence around other wireless equipment, cell phones, Bluetooth devices, etc.

Q: 9. Will this work with E-M1 Mark II?

A: The MM-LAPEL-2 is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II.

Q: 10. Is this mic also compatible with the Sony PXW-Z150 4K ?

A: Yes, it is a standard XLR connected mic, the model you mentioned has 2 XLR inputs. This will also work with any other equipment that has XLR, so it can be very useful for other equipment too.

[Cocoa] We have bought products from B&H before and have always been happy. These mics are wonderful and provide good sound and durability.

[1 to 2 V] This is exactly what was needed. Is a replacement product for our system and it was easy to reintegrate. Works perfectly. Very happy.

[Hypercardioid] We had some feedback issues right out of the shoot, but this is a different mic than the E6 or any of the other countryman's. Once we got things equaled out we were in good shape and have much more consistent sound than ever before.

[Plug-In Power] We have so much trouble with other mics used before at our local church. Because we are renting the place so we cannot change their audio setting too much, ended up we always cannot hear to preachers speaking as when we crank up the volume, the feedback will come... We have heard about this brand Countryman E6 but didn't want to buy it as the price is a bit steep for us. But finally, I decided to buy it myself as I cannot stand listening to a good message with a bad sound quality! Most of the mics we've tried sounds good but nothing sound quite like the Countryman. This mic give a very natural sound. We can hear the sound of the presenters the same as to when they talk normally (without the mic) and boom! there is no distortion in the sound!. Also we have found that this mic help us to reduce hiss and feedback a lot as the mic is right next to the mouth so we do not have to crank up the sensitivity of the transmitter too much and we are now have to lower to volume of the amp because it's getting too loud! I also did a blind test with few people at church (i.e. not showing them which system I am using and let them vote which system sounds better). Every single person voted for E6 hand down. So there you have it. One thing I didn't like though is. I didn't know the different of each model until I bought one and saw the brochure inside. i.e. the differences between w5, w6, and w7. e6, e6i, and e6 flex, etc. If B&H have put the description of that brochure on the website it would be much helpful for other buyers.

[1 to 2 V] I bought this mic to replace one just like it that I had for nearly 15 years! The old one developed an intermittent problem hence the replacement. The newer one was shipped promptly and as far as I can tell is just like the older one...so if I get 15 years of service, what more can one ask for.

[1 to 2 V] We used this microphone with the Seinheiser EW100 G3 wireless body pack and Receiver. The audio quality is amazing. The clarity and natural sound will make this microphone your default preference.

[Hypercardioid] We use this mic in a church setting. We were using a lapel mic that came included with our AKG wireless system. Once we swapped out the lapel and started using the Countryman the difference was amazing! Sound was clear and crisp with no pops, hissing, or buzzing. For pro speaking environments this is a must have!

[Hypercardioid] Rock solid, great for active videos like sports demonstrations/workshops that require a lot of movement. Sounds excellent as well, only quirk is that it is a little quiet and requires more gain than my other lavalieres but doesn't hiss.

[Plug-In Power] This is a great Mic. I use it every week and it's crisp and clear, great for our podcast. BH got it shipped to me overnight when I was in a jam. I will definitely buy from BH again!
