The blue 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Lever Ball Head Bluefrom 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Lever Ball Head Blueis an Arca-type ball head with a load capacity of 88 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included QR-OCTA Quick Release Plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by using the clamp's push-and-pull cam lock lever. When opened, the lever can be rotated and flipped over so that when used to lock the clamp, the direction of the lever's motion best suits either a right- or left-handed user.

Dual retaining screws are included for use along the underside of the plate. These screws prevent the plate from accidentally sliding off the ball head when the clamp is opened. The quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform while a built-in bubble level along the edge of the clamp opposite the cam lock lever accommodates landscape orientations.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Under the primary locking knob is a secondary locking knob, which controls the ability to rotate the head 360°.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I screw the leg (using it as a monopod) into the Siriu l-10 monopod head? The thread size for the l10 is 3/8".

A: With the 3 Legged Thing Winston 2.0 Tripod Kit with AirHed Pro Ball Head the leg gets screwed directly into the center column to turn it onto a monopod. You could use the Sirui L-10 Monopod Tilt Head on the top of the center column.

Q: 2. Can it work with a acra foot plate for long lens?

A: Yes, the 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Lever Ball Head is Arca-Swiss compatible.

Q: 3. Can I use this with the iFootage CB3 C180F monopod base? also, is it strong enough to handle a Sony FS5 (weight 10 lb)?

A: Yes, the 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Ball Head (Matte Black) is compatible with the iFootage CB3 C180F Carbon Fiber Monopod with Mini Tripod Base, and it would be more than strong enough to handle the 5-lb Sony FS5 (including a lens).

Q: 4. Sorry for the dumb question, is this waterproof?

A: The 3 Legged Thing Legends Ray Carbon Fiber Tripod with AirHed Vu Ball Head Set is not waterproof.

Q: 5. How do you convert it to a boom?

A: The center column of the 3 Legged Thing Charles 2.0 Darkness Magnesium Alloy Tripod with AirHed Pro Ball Head does not turn into a boom arm. One option would be to add this Sirui HA-77 Horizontal Arm to it and then the Sirui would be a boom arm. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1325160-REG

Q: 6. Hello Dan, Will this work with a Slik Pro 500DX ?

A: The 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Ball Head (Matte Black) is compatible with the Slik 500DX Pro Tripod Legs - Supports 10 lb (4.5 kg), but you will need the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3j64irK.

Q: 7. Would this work with an L bracket?

A: Yes, this Arca Swiss head is compatible with Arca Swiss compatible L brackets.

Q: 8. Will this head slightly shift direction as you tighten the ball, especially when using long focus heavy lenses (for which this head is rated)?

A: once the ball head adjustment knob is in the locked position, the head will hold up to 30kg from top-down in a secure and stabile position.

Q: 9. Is this solid enough to use with a benro gimbal head?

A: The 3 Legged Thing Leo 2.0 Tripod Kit with AirHed Pro Lever Ball Head (Bronze and Blue) is sturdy enough to use with a gimbal head.

Q: 10. Can it hold heavy lenses like Nikon 200-500 with nikon 6?

A: Yes, it supports 66lbs.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] If you appreciate a well designed, light weight, compact tripod, the 3 Legged Thing Leo 2.0 would be a good choice. I bought this for a trip to French Polynesia and it performed flawlessly. It held my Nikon D850, a heavier camera, well even at full extension. It is easy to use, collapses into a fairly small space, comes with a carrying bag, and can be converted into a monopod. I only got the tripod, but there are a number of accessories, including several different styles of feet. This is a well thought out piece of equipment that is supported by other 3 Legged Thing equipment and accessories.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] This is a great tripod. It is lightweight, easy to travel with, and super sturdy. I use it for my day job of real estate photography, and I can also pack it and travel with it easily. Best purchase in awhile!

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] When my AirHed arrived, I couldn't believe that such a compact, lightweight ball head could handle the 80 pounds as advertised. After a weekend of shooting with a big, heavy camera and 600mm lens, I realized I had underestimated the 3 Legged Thing. It's as smooth and steady as my friend's Really Right Stuff's much larger ball head. Congratulations to the Brits.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] 3leggedthing for the 2 legged humans..
Had been using Mefoto for over 4 years and even though it does not weigh much than this, somehow this feels very light ( my friend also confirmed the same)..
Very easy to setup and use.. Tried my D750 with the Tamron 150-600 on it and it was sturdy and did not wobble when it was setup on an open bridge..
Thumbs up!!!!

[Ball Head] Since I am a film shooter and my camera of choice is the 67 Pentax the last head I used would not lock in place to hold the weight of this beast The Pro Level Ball Head locks in and holds my Pentax rock solid. Excellent choice for a head on a travel tripod

[0.915 lb] magnesium alloy (not aluminum) contributes to strength. very simple head with no tension ability. the gap in the head adjusts to accommodate any arca plate (very important as they vary)
