The gray 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Ball Head Grayfrom 3 Legged Thing AirHed Pro Ball Head Grayis an Arca-type ball head with a load capacity of 88.0 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included QR-OCTA Quick Release Plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's knurled, locking knob. Dual retaining screws are included for use along the underside of the plate. These screws prevent the plate from accidentally sliding off the ball head when the clamp is opened. The quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform while a built-in bubble level along the edge of the clamp opposite the clamp's locking knob accommodates landscape orientations.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Under the primary locking knob is a secondary locking knob, which controls the ability to rotate the head 360°.

Q: 2. Could I use a Wimberley gimbal head (wh-200) with this?

Q: 3. What is the size of the plate and how it mounted to camera?

A: The arca-swiss plate provided with the 3 Legged Thing AirHed Vu ball head is 38mm / 1.5" in width and screws into your camera's mounting point via the 1/4"-20 screw on the plate.

Q: 4. Can I screw the leg (using it as a monopod) into the Siriu l-10 monopod head? The thread size for the l10 is 3/8".

[Ball Head] Smaller than expected for its weight capacity and the knobs are smooth when tension applied. I just wish they made a larger one.

[Ball Head] I love this ball head. I've used a number of heads and this is by far the best I've used. Construction is sold and most importantly to me is it says in place even with heavy load. All 3 Legged Thing products I've used have been top quality.

[0.895 lb] Bought this as I couldn't stand the ball head that comes standard on the excellent Peak Design carbon fiber tripod. It doesn't add noticeable weight and it's only a few inches longer to pack this already very compact tripod. As an added bonus I don't need to raise the center column and more.

[4.8 x 4.4 x 4"] I bought this to use with a Peak Design tripod with the Universal Head adapter, since I wanted to do pans, and the stock PD head doesn't have a panning capability. Panning axis has just the right amount of resistance, and the large knob locks the ball securely for my DSLR with a 200mm. I didn't miss/don't see the need for a separate friction control on a ball this size. Great compact travel head.

[Ball Head] Needed for my new carbon fiber tripod legs. Lightweight but strong, excellent load bearing and simple to operate

[Yes] I am using this ball head on one of my Astro Photography rigs. It is quite tougher then I expected and has no problem supporting a heavy load. My heaviest DSLR rig with lens and guide scope & camera weighs 16 pounds and this little beauty handles is just fine.
I would purchase another one of these if needed... with out hesitation.

[4.8 x 4.4 x 4"] I originally purchased the 3LT Punks - Travis which comes with the airhead Neo ball head. This is a great travel tripod and I love it. However, my gear has now expanded to include the Canon 6D M2, and a Sigma 150-600. I started to notice the NEO was struggling to hold my camera in position, particularly when the lens was extended to 600mm. Rather than upgrade the whole tripod, I thought I would first start by upgrading the ball head to the airhead pro. It works like a charm, even at 600mm I was able to take a tack sharp photo of the moon, The camera was rock solid. Arrived very quickly (I’m in Canada) with no issues or hassle. Very happy, would recommend.

[0.895 lb] It works as advertised. The quality and performance is perfect. Definitely recommend. I added it to the Peak Design CF tripod for the panning aspect.
