The cocoa Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic with Detachable XLR Cablefrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic with Detachable XLR Cablefeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the highest gain for general chest-worn applications such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a detachable cable that terminates to a 3-Pin XLR connector for direct connection to Select 3-Pin XLR mixers, recorders, and other devices with an XLR connection.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Standard (gray band) for most uses

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I hook this system on my smart tv so I ca use the you tube app for karaoke?

A: Yes, as long as your TV has a 3.5mm audio output you can connect the two.

Q: 2. I want to record audio and video into my iPhone 5. can this product connect from the XLR output of a wireless lav into the iphone?

A: Yes, you may plug your LAV into the XLR port and the 1/8th inch into your iPhone and your headphones into the 1/8 inch port.

Q: 3. Will this allow me to connect a dynamic mic with an xlr connection to either a dji mic or rode wireless go 2? If not is there a connector that will do this for me? thanks!

A: Although this is not officially confirmed to work, it should technically be possible. Depending on the microphone, you may find the audio level to be lower than usual especially with dynamic microphones like the Shure SM58.

Q: 4. I want to connect this to the LiveU Smartphone APP. Connect a Microphone and connect Headphones to listen to the IFB coming out of the APP. Do you think this is possible?

A: If the app would work with ear buds and its mic, it should work with this cable. Note: you must use a dynamic mic with this break-out cable. It does not pass phantom power for condensers. Use a dynamic with highest output possible. I recommend getting a TRRS extension cable to use with it especially if the iPhone is in a protective case.

Q: 5. Does it requieres 48V phantom power?

A: No 48v will damage mic only 1.5 to 5volts on the transmitter to power mic, if you only have Phantom Power 48volts, get a lavaier with an XLR connection instead.

Q: 6. Could this be used to take a phone call on a radio show? making connections through a audio board?

A: Mix-minus is key to avoiding a feedback loop too.

Q: 7. Will this work safely with a Godox FL150R ?

A: Yes, the Genaray 12V Battery XLR Cable for MonoBright will work safely with the Godox echo system.

Q: 8. Hello! Is the mini XLR 3-pin end a male or a female? Thanks!

A: Hi , This mini XLR 3-pin end is a female .

Q: 9. is this mic compatible with the airline series?

A: Yes it is. The Samson Airline series accepts a TA3F connector.

Q: 10. Is there a version of this cable without a locking connector?

A: No, we don't make one like that. But you can easily push back the locking connector and it does not impede the use at all. I use one with a Blink 500 and Blink 500 Pro system all the time.

[1 to 2 V] This replaces a previous Countryman mic - fits well and even better with the brace that goes over the other ear. Great mic for speaking

[1 to 2 V] Use them for recording many events and amplification for live events. Only lament is that they are a bit fragile.

[Plug-In Power] Going from a Shure WL93 to a Countryman E6 is like going from a Ford Pinto to a Audi A8. The Sound is fantastic. We work in an incredibly reflective, medium sized hall, and feedback is no longer an issue. The only issue that I've personally encountered is that we are still using Shure ULX wireless transmitters/recievers, and even with the gain on both maximized, it's still not quite enough. Having to then add gain on the board adds some unwanted background noise; however, I don't blame the mics for this issue, but instead our wireless system. Overall, Great mics.

[Hypercardioid] The E6 is my earset of choice, since the quality of sound and comfort are priority for me and my presenters. NOTE: Since the earset is not part of B&H stock, the mics are drop-shipped directly from Countryman. I needed the mic within a week so I paid for 2-day shipping, since I was concerned when Countryman would process and ship the order. I was amazed to find out that they processed the order on the same day I placed it with B&H, and the mic arrived before the B&H order! Many thanks.

[Cocoa] I use these in a corporate speech and presentation environment. I have tried other knock-offs some of these knock offs have good sound quality, but sacrifice build quality, some are built ok, but sound like you are talking into a bowl with literally nothing from the lower mids down. Some look bad and sound bad. The Countryman E6 is the best performing and longest lasting ear-set microphone I have ever tried. They are really expensive, but in my opinion if you have the budget, they are worth it.

[Hypercardioid] I use these in a performing arts center with a Sennheiser wireless system. They work so much better than lavaliere mics, due to their closer proximity to the mouth. Hardly any EQ is needed to get them sounding loud and present. Their tiny size truly makes them nearly invisible on stage. I have used these for years and keep buying them, despite other options that have cropped up in the last few years, Countryman has given me no reason to switch.

[Hypercardioid] This is a great mic - it fits around the ear well and it is comfortable. The sound is crystal clear.

[Hypercardioid] I am a solo musician/children's performer and I used an E6 for 12 years. I finally made a mistake and it broke. I thought of the E6i...NOPE! I tried a friends E6i and found it does not hold it's shape like the E6. The E6i would not stay on my ear. It really is for multiple users. I'm sure it's great for that. If you want an earpiece that will keep it's shape and can picked up and put on mid-show(like I do) the E6 is perfect...and sounds amazing.

[1 to 2 V] Our pastor uses this mic for sermons and other events in a large sanctuary. We also record the sermons for online distribution and the recordings are crisp and clear. Because the mic stays the same distance from the mouth no matter which way the user turns their head, there are never any more quiet or more loud moments (other than the user raising or lowering their voice). This helps to ensure excellent consistency. I would recommend this mic to just about anyone. The only down-side is that it takes a little longer to put on and take off than most clip-on lav mics.
