Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to use another cartridge like the VM610MONO?

A: Yes, the included headshell will work with any 1/2" mount type cartridge, like the Audio-Technica Consumer VM610MONO Dual Moving Magnet Conical Stylus Cartridge. When ever changing cartridges it it recommended to recalibrate and balance the turntable.

Q: 2. Baass sound good?

A: Yes, it captures low frequency sound very well, very accurately, without being overwhelming. I record at music venues, and it captures the bass just like being in the room.

Q: 3. Can any 5-Pin XLR Female to 1/8" 3.5mm Stereo Jack can be used to connect the AT BP4029 to Canon R5 camera? If so, which one do you recommend?

A: The Audio-Technica BP4029 (AT835ST) - Stereo Shotgun Microphone requires power from 3-Pin XLR inputs to operate properly and cannot connect directly to a 3.5mm input on a camera such as the Canon R5. A small camera mixer such as BH #SASRPAX1 Saramonic SR-PAX1 Two-Channel Audio Mixer, Preamp, Microphone Adapter would work to achieve this setup properly.

Q: 4. Can I use this as a mono mic for podcast if I do not connect one of the xlr's?

A: You could in that form just to connect oneside of the mic, just keep in mind that this mic is a condensor mic it still is sensitive and it will pickup ambience from the room if its not acousticlly treated.

Q: 5. does it have a strobe indicator for speed ?

A: No. There is no strobe.

Q: 6. This mic can output both X/Y channels to each XLR cable, so I'm going to use it on a recorder like the zoom f3. Should I set the phantom power of each channel to 24V or 48V? Or is it both possible? The specs say '11-52VDC, 7mA typical (both channels total)' confuses me. Because this mic outputs two XLR cables, is it calculated by adding up the phantom power of the two? Please excuse the beginner's question.(24V+24V or 48V+48V ?)

A: The dual XLR outputs of the Audio-Technica BP4025 X/Y Stereo Field Recording Microphone should both be connected to XLR input sources with phantom power engaged. Although 48V is the most common, this microphone will work with input sources offering 11-52VDC from each output.

Q: 7. The manual refers to using a third party app when using a cell phone. Do you have a recommendation for the app or what the app might be called? It also says "it doe snot support the partial original recording of android systems" What does this mean?

A: For smartphone shooting, customers must separately purchase a TRS-TRRS audio converting cable, and pay attention to set the mobile phone mode to 'Flight Mode' to avoid incoming call interference(It does not support the partial original recording of android systems, the third-party APP is recommended to be used in this case. Comica Audio: Email support@comica-audio.com

Q: 8. What is the length of the boom arm when folded closed and the clamp removed?

A: The folded length of the Audio-Technica AT8700 Adjustable Microphone Boom Arm BH #AUAT8700 with the clamp removed is approximately 16 inches.

Q: 9. How can i know what kind of off brand lavalier microphone can be screwed in this transmitter?

A: The Comica Audio CVM-WM200C PRO transmitter is compatible with lavalier microphones which have Sennheiser-style locking connectors.

Q: 10. What is the width of the stereo pattern?

A: Unfortunately Audio Technica does not provide detailed specs regarding width of the pattern. The manual, which is available on the Audio Technica website does include some polar pattern diagrams at different frequency ranges that may help.

[1 to 2 V] As a keyboard accompanist and supporting vocalist, I found it impossible to play my best when glued to a boom mic. I tried wireless but found it clumsy and the sound quality unreliable. Then I found this mic online. Yes, I have to remember not to stand up and walk away when it's clipped on, but it's well worth that effort. This wired lavalier has all the sound quality of a wired handheld and no wireless worries.

[1 to 2 V] We were hoping to get a second Sanken cos-11D to have matching mics, but that mic has been on backorder for some time now. Needed a second mic for a job and we gave the Countryman B6 a shot. Very happy with its performance. And the case, accessories that come with it make it that much more valuable. They offer the mic for pretty much every receiver available. It was definitely worth it and we might possibly be looking at purchasing more Countryman B6 mics in the future.

[Omnidirectional] After using one of these on another film crew, I marveled at it's small size, big sound and the ability to hide it. As soon as I got home I bought one. I've used this on two client shoots already and the sound is great. Client's love it because the lav is almost invisible while the talent was walking around the set. Next time I need to mic more than one person, I'll probably buy another one - it's that good.

[1 to 2 V] I've been using B6 mics for a long time now for film. They sound great and are very easy to hide due to the tiny capsule.
I'm not sure DPA and Sanken Cos 11d have been dethroned yet, but this guy is on par as far as I'm concerned--especially considering the ease of hiding it.
