The light beige Countryman E2 Unidirectional Earset Microphone, Hirose 4-Pin Connectorfrom Countryman E2 Unidirectional Earset Microphone, Hirose 4-Pin Connectoris an over-the-ear earset, similar to a classic E6 earset, but with a shorter boom designed to work with Audio-Technica wireless microphone systems. It provides suitable isolation at the mouth, but with less visibility than an E6 omni earset, and can be used to capture audio for general speaking and vocal applications.

With an equalizing circuit built into the audio connector, the frequency response is tuned so you can experience full-bodied bass and precise highs that are warm and natural. The element, boom, and sub-miniature connector are all easily hidden on the user's face. The boom position near the ear helps to eliminate breath pops and vocal plosives on the mic. The detachable cable terminates to a Hirose 4-pin AN cW-Style connector for direct connection to an Audio-Technica 4000 Series, 5000 Series, or 7000 Series bodypack transmitter.

The E2 Earset redefines pure sound in a virtually invisible package. It offers better ease of use than a lavalier or podium microphone.

There are two aspects of the E2 design that make it possible to capture sound so far away from the mouth: strong off-axis rejection and precisely tuned frequency response. For on-axis interference, the frequency response tuning in the connector of the E2 allows you to fully capitalize on the proximity boosting effect of the mic to achieve even stronger isolation in the voice band.

Like the connector for the industry-standard E6, the connector for the E2 is built tougher and more water resistant than previous models.

Standard gain, for speaking and vocals.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how would this compare to MKE 600 or AT875R ?

A: In terms of specifications, the three mics do have differences in the way they perform, how they are powered, as well as in their physical size and features. The Panasonic AG-MC200G Unidirectional Microphone is 6.38" (162 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 160 Hz to 20 Hz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -40 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 69 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone is 6.89" (175 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 90 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -30 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 74 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone is a longer mic that can operate using either phantom power or a single AA battery and it has a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. The MKE 600 is 10.08" (256 mm) long and it has a frequency response range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 132 dB when using phantom power and 126 dB when using battery, a sensitivity level of 21 mV/Pa with phantom power and 19 mV/Pa with battery power, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB with phantom power and 78 dB with battery power. The frequency response range is the output range for the audio that the mic is able to reproduce and the maximum sound pressure level is the level of the loudest sounds that the mic can reproduce. The sensitivity rating is the amount of output gain for the input (a higher negative number indicates that the mic is less sensitive than a mic with a lower negative number), and the signal-to-noise ratio is the level of the desired sound compared to the unwanted noise (a higher number indicates a stronger audio signal with less noise).

Q: 2. How is this microphone powered? I'm thinking of a microphone that I can connect to a hand-held digital recorder so that I can capture the comments from a guide in the front of a bus when I'm sitting farther back in the bus in Israel during a two week trip, and I don't think that my recorder does 48 volts.

A: The AG-MC200G uses +48V phantom power and feature a standard XLR output. It cannot work with a device that does not supply + 48V phantom power.

Q: 3. Could this be used if plugged into an external recorder/mic pack (Rode Go II, Tascam, etc.)?

A: Yes, the Sabinetek SM-1 VlogMic+ Unidirectional Add-On Microphone for SmartMike+ and Smartphones could be used with an external recorder or wireless microphone transmitter.

Q: 4. can I use this with sony pxw-x70. is this too short??? Some thing else better than this mic.Sony ????

A: This mic would be compatible with the Sony PXW-X70. There are many others that would also be compatible, however the correct mic would depend on your particular needs.

Q: 5. how long is the cable?

A: Hi, the cable is 4.1 feet. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 6. What do I need to connect these mikes to a Zoom/MacMini teleconferencing system?

A: The Unidirectional Table Top Wireless Microphone from Revolabs is intended for use with Revolab's HD series wireless microphone and conference systems.

Q: 7. So it's powered by the cameras battery?

A: I think dynamic microphones do not use any power source. They're similar to phonograph cartridges in that way.

Q: 8. Is this mic also compatible with the Sony PXW-Z150 4K ?

A: Yes, it is a standard XLR connected mic, the model you mentioned has 2 XLR inputs. This will also work with any other equipment that has XLR, so it can be very useful for other equipment too.

Q: 9. Will this work with E-M1 Mark II?

A: The MM-LAPEL-2 is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II.

Q: 10. How does this differ from my mic150 shotgun mic?

A: The Panasonic MIC150 has a frequency response of 80 Hz to 16 kHz whereas the Panasonic AG-MC200G has a frequency response of 160 Hz to 20 Hz.

[Hypercardioid] This is a backup to one currently in use, great product

[Hypercardioid] I bought this mic to replace one just like it that I had for nearly 15 years! The old one developed an intermittent problem hence the replacement. The newer one was shipped promptly and as far as I can tell is just like the older one...so if I get 15 years of service, what more can one ask for.

[Plug-In Power] The Isomax headset is the best sound reproduction microphone for head worn gear. It captures your voice at full strength, including a whisper, and is perfect for live sound applications. It's easy to adjust for your head, and is comfortable to wear for long periods. This is money well invested!!!

[Plug-In Power] We have had an older version of this headset for a long time. So when looking for a new one we wanted to go with a Countryman again. Straight out of the box this sounded just as we expected. If you are in need of a pro headset for a singer type...they are bulletproof.

[Plug-In Power] With a hearing on the left and a cochlear implant on the right and add glasses I can still wear comfortable the headset. The voice pick up is always the same. It works!

[Light Beige] I am a Jazzercise instructor and use this mic 3-5 times per week. I bought it to go with my Audio Technica transmitter and receiver. It sounds SO much better than my original AT mic headset! It does not contact my skin so does not get soaked with sweat like my AT mic did. The sound is pretty amazing. It is lightweight and comfortable but I had to change the way I wear my hair when working out because the design hit my ponytail. So now I wear the ponytail a bit higher and clip this headset right below it. It does not stay in place without the clip. Maybe it would for someone with short hair. I was disappointed that this product did not come with a carrying case. I have to travel to my class locations and am currently using the small cardboard box that it came in.

[Hypercardioid] an excellent headset--we used this to replace a Shure that came in a wireless mic set and it's got a little more sensitivity and range for sure. I find it a little less comfortable than some, but the sound is excellent. Good for talks and performances

[Hypercardioid] I teach aerobics and use this mic in class. The last one I had lasted 8 years and would have lasted longer had it not been accidentally left on a cabinet and a heavy object thrown on top of it. grrr I am hoping this new one lasts as long or longer. I have tried other headsets and nothing sounds as good and is as comfortable as the countryman. You will get cracking sounds from moisture (hey, it's Jazzercise and heck yes I SWEAT!), but I have found that working to position the mic down and away from you mouth and cheeks help. This mic will pick up the sound just fine and it does not need to be right up against you mouth to do so. Yes it is more expensive than other aerobic mic alternatives, but it will last at least twice as long and sound so much better.
