Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it come with a carry cover?

A: The PolarPro Pivot Shoulder Rig System comes with a storage pouch.

Q: 2. What is the weight capacity for this unit? Could it support a moderately setup DSMC2?

A: Polar Pro does not provide a supported weight. However it would support RED DSMC2 setups in the 10-17lb range.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Ronin-M?

A: Hi Erik,Absolutely, I love mine! I have the Ronin M and the Ready Rig (with standard arms) and it is one of the best accessories I own! It's liberating, no more sore arms. I have been able to shoot continuously with my Ronin M and Ready Rig on jobs for over 4 hours with no fatigue..NO FATIGUE in my arms or back. I cannot comment on the Pro Arms but the standard arm design pefectly supports my Ronin M, Canon 7D MKii w/24 Shot Silencer follow focus, Atomos Ninja Blade recorder and TASCAM DR-70D mounted on the Ronin M cross bar. The Ready Rig is built like a tank and worth every penny. Just my 2 cents. - Chris

Q: 4. Will this work for handheld operation? Also would it work with the Letus Helix Pro gimbal?

A: The Ready Rig GS Stabilizer + ProArm Kit with Case can be use for handled shooting when using proper mounting solutions. The Ready Rig GS Stabilizer + ProArm Kit with Case should als be able to support the Letus35 Letus Helix Pro Magnesium Gimbal, but it may be difficult to operate the gimbal, again it would depend on how you mount the gimab to the straps.

Q: 5. Does the Manfrotto 502 plate work with this?

A: Regarding the PolarPro Pivot Shoulder Rig System, there is no mention of the plate being compatible or being a Manfrotto style plate.

Q: 6. Will this work with the DJI ronin 2?

A: Yes, if you keep the overall load of the Ronin 2 with camera at or below 30 pounds. The Ronin 2, B&H # DJRONIN2, weighs about 12 pounds and has a 30 pound load capacity. If the total of the Ronin 2 and camera goes over the 30 pound mark, you will need to look in to the Pro Arm Model, B&H # RERIGGSA, which has a 40 pound load capacity.https://bhpho.to/2CSe72b

Q: 7. Looking to use this whilst riding a motorcycle with a Ronin and dslr. Is it possible to use this without your arms or will the whole thing just bounce around?

A: It will bounce around.

Q: 8. How large is the rig, weight and carry bag? Will the airlines allow as a carry on or should I pack it with my checked luggage? I'm female, 5'6 in height and weigh 120lbs. I flying internationally and have three connections. Just wondering about carrying through the airports during connections. Appreciate any info, thanks!

A: The ReadyRig GS weighs 14 pounds and it takes up a decent amount of room. You are going to need to check it in to luggage.

Q: 9. Hi guys, short woman here. I'm only 5'3 and I have a Glidecam vest, but it's huge on me because I'm super short. Can anyone tell me what the length of the vest is to see if it'll fit my torso properly?

A: Just measured mine - The length of the padded section that will sit against your back is 50cm. The size of the vest is 100% adjustable so I'm confident that you will be able to find a good fit. The height of the shoulder pads can be adjusted up and down to accommodate all shapes and sizes!

Q: 10. What compatibility does the Ready Rig have with a handheld setup? No gimbal -- just a camera on a shoulder mount, for example. Can it be compared with an Easy Rig in this regard?

A: While the ReadyRig is designed to be used with a gimbal and to have both harnesses connect to a gimbal's top bar, it is possible to use this unit with a shoulder mount camera as well. You would probably just want to use a single arm and connect it to the top handle of your shoulder mount camera.

[0.03 lb] Used the Ready Rig with my Movi Pro and Red Scarlet-W in a shoot in Arizona. We were out in the blazing desert and the Ready Rig helps us shoot faster since we don't need to take breaks to set the camera down between shots. The operator can concentrate on the shot running over rough ground and not worry about dropping the camera.

We also used it on a boat to get jet ski footage. It added additional stabilization on the rocking boat. Ready Rig kept both the camera and the operator from falling off the boat since the rig is easy to grab on to support the operator.

I also bough the CineMilled Ready Rig GS Swivel. Highly recommended to turn the gimbal in tight locations like the bow of a small boat.

[0.03 lb] First of all, let's make this clear: The Ready Rig GS is NOT a steadycam device. It will not ever eliminate "steps" on your shots. It wasn't designed to do that, so expecting it to do it isn't exactly fair.

What it does do is really take the weight of your gimbal off your arms. We are using ours with a Movi 15 flying a RED Scarlet Dragon AND RED BRICK BATTERY using a Sigma 18-35mm lens, a Nyrius wireless video broadcaster, and an Optitron wireless system. And it handles all this perfectly. My co-DP on our current feature loves it, and when he's happy, I'm happy.

This is a very sold piece of kit!

[0.03 lb] It took me a while to pull the trigger on buying this Ready Rig and I can tell you that it’s definitely worth the investment. I have a pretty light set up (Ronin-M + GH5) however, without the Ready Rig I could really only operate the gimbal for a few minutes before my arms, shoulders, and lower back would start to fatigue.

Also, having to adjust settings on the camera & lens was also inconvenient while holding the Ronin-M with only one hand because it would put unnecessary strain on your wrist. With the Ready Rig, I’ve been able to operate my gimbal for over 20 minutes before I started to fatigue. The best part is that the Ready Rig holds your gimbal for you when you need both hands free to adjust settings on your camera (no more awkward one handed adjustments).

The unit paid for itself after a few shoots, my only regret is that I didn’t buy it earlier. If you operate a gimbal regularly, this is definitely an investment you won’t regret.

[0.03 lb] I've been through a few support vest options and jumped into the Ready Rig. This is one of the most comfortable support vests I've worn and it handles our gimbal rig and even camera for controlled handheld beautifully! Its very easy to balance and ive been able to suit up and connect to my camera rigs solo. Highly reccomend!

[0.03 lb] Love the rig (with the vega arms update) and the company and employees that builds it. Nice people and helpful.

Now personally I would really go for the vegas arm, it makes a huge difference in terms of vertical stabilization. I did the upgrade and can't recommend it enough if you want to be sure to have no vertical bounce when walking.

Be aware that having the lumbar accessory can have a big impact on your back. Or if you don't want to buy it, just have a scarf or a small wind jacket... that you can add in the back to fill any void, and your back will thank you.

Also I have just seen a video with the Ready Rig Wrist Support Straps that seem to offer awesome possibilities.

Ask ready rig about their demo videos they did during the pandemic, they have some great tips in there.

[0.03 lb] So, I've had this shoulder rig for a few days now. I've been using it with my Komodo, Raptor, FX3, and FX6. The shoulder rig has performed flawlessly. It's crazy how compact this thing is too. I thought this shoulder rig was made out of plastic (based on the photos on the website), but I was wrong. This thing is heavy (that's a good thing) and solid metal. Not sure what kind of metal but this is beastly. I've very happy with this purchase. This entire rig is easily configured to just about any video use.
