$329.97 $504.85

This 6 to 9-stop, 67mm Freewell Bright Day ND Filter 67mm 6-9 Stopis designed to mount onto lenses with 67mm front filter threads and provides an exposure reduction of 6 to 9-stops. Its 1.8 to 2.7 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally possible. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field or add motion blur. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually demarcated with numbers representing the different stop values and features side knurlings to further enable fast and precise positioning.

This filter is constructed from Schott B270 glass for enhanced clarity and color fidelity. Each glass surface is multi-coated to help eliminate internal ghosting and reflections. The Freewell 67mm Bright Day Variable Neutral Density 1.8 to 2.7 Filter is also coated for resistance to oil, dust, and scratches, offering greater protection to the filter and helping it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The coatings are hydrophobic as well, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

Variable neutral density filter allows you to apply differing amounts of density from scene to scene.

1.8 to 2.7 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally possible.

Providing a reduction of 6 to 9 stops, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Offers increased flexibility to use specific ISO settings or ISO films under bright ambient light.

Provides increased exposure flexibility while using cinema or video cameras within a designated film frame rate.

Constructed from Schott B270 glass for increased optical clarity as well as color fidelity.

Multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections

Coated for oil, static, dirt, as well as scratch resistance and provides an improved beading effect with water for more efficient cleaning.

Aluminum alloy filter ring assembly for durability while remaining lightweight.

Side knurlings along the front filter ring allow the filter glass to be easily rotated.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible as screw on filter fir smallrig mini matte box?

A: The SmallRig Mini Matte Box includes an 82mm adapter so it can accept the 82mm Freewell Mist Edition Threaded Bright Day Variable ND Filter.

Q: 2. What is the weight in grams of the filter itself (without magnetic lens cover)?

A: The Freewell 82mm All-day Variable ND filter weighs 71 g without the lens cap.

Q: 3. Is this VND "clear" or "off" before turning to position 2 or higher?

A: No. There is no way to turn it "off". The minimum filter factor / density would be 0.6 / 2-stops and 1.8 / 6-stops.

Q: 4. Is the ND filter "clear" or "off" before turning the dial to position 2 (or higher)?

A: There is a tint to the filter prior to adjusting it to a higher setting.

Q: 5. Does these have 82mm threads on the front to attach a lens hood?

A: I'm sorry, no.

Q: 6. I need this filter but with mist 1/8...

A: Here is the link to the same filter but with a 1/8 mist: https://bhpho.to/39elov0

Q: 7. May i know what is the full diameter of the filter for 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, and 82mm?

A: Sorry I can't measure precisely but the system is no larger than standard filters. The diameter is about 2mm larger than the thread size and flush with the lens barrel. The magnetic system is built in to the rim of the filters so it does not take additional space.

Q: 8. Does this kit come with a step up ring included? I thought I read somewhere it does.

A: This filter set does not come with a step ring.

Q: 9. Does this have a front thread?

A: Yes this filter has a front thread.

Q: 10. What is included in the box beside the filters and the cap? How do you clip the filters to the lens? Does this purchase includes something like a base magnet ring?

A: Beside the filter and the magnetic lens cap, cleaning cloth and case is included. It's a screw in type lens so it has thread that connects to the lens. Only the lens cap is magnetic.

[Aluminum] Searching for quality ND filters can be an endless journey. They range in price from around $30 to well over $200 each. Of course, like many people, I thought about getting Peter McKinnon ND filters. But, the problem with any product named after someone, the price is usually higher based on who the person is.

When it came time to invest in higher quality ND filters, I knew I'd be paying a lot more than usual. Then one day, while searching for ND filter reviews on YouTube, I came across one for Freewell. So, I took the chance and bought a 2-5 stop variable ND filter by Freewell. It cost $109. Which was way more than I've paid in the past, yet substantially cheaper than the $249 ND filters branded as Peter McKinnon.

Suffice it to say, I am extremely happy with my choice. I've gone on to buy more ND filters and a Polarizing filter from Freewell. I don't experience any vignetting or strange color shifts.

I highly recommend Freewell filters. I think you will be happy with the results.

[Multi Coated] These are better than any similar variable ND I've used. They are better built, spin smoother, and look better too.

[Glass] This is a great comparison for the other brand that is too expensive. Sometimes name/brand will think twice. But for me buying 1 VND compare to freewell 2 VND already, its a great winning choice. love this filter.

[Multi Coated] This filter is very nice. It has a good quality feel to it. There is a slight greenish color cast but it's super easy to correct with custom white balance. I bought a step up ring so I could use with my 85mm and my 50mm and it was a great choice. The hard stops are fantastic too.
