The black Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Shure Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Shure Wireless Transmittersfeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the highest gain for general chest-worn applications such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a hardwired cable that terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Standard (gray band) for most uses

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the mic head of Shure BLX188 Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Mic adjustable to the position of the source of sound? Will the mic capture the sound when the speaker turns the head sideway?

A: The lapel microphones in the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System feature a directional (although wide) cardioid pickup pattern. When clipped to the collar, they should capture the speaker's voice in most orientations when the lapel microphone is oriented in an upward position, although perhaps to a lesser effect if the speaker turns their head.

Q: 2. Can I buy several sets on two different bands for 12 mics all working at the same time a?

A: Yes you can use 3 systems of the Shure BLX188/CVL in one band and 3 in another band to be able to use 12 mics at the same time without their signals interfering.

Q: 3. Can these be mounted in a rack, or does it cause issues with the internal antennas?

A: The Shure BLX188 receiver is specifically designed to be a tabletop receiver, and is not rackmountable as per the manufacturer. The only BLX series that are rackmountable are the BLX14R and BLX24R models of single channel recievers.

Q: 4. This will work with Wirless go system?

A: This microphone is incompatible with the RODE Go

Q: 5. Do these work with the paddle antennas to get more range or help with interference?

A: No, the Shure BLX88 receiver included with the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System has built-in internal antennas and is not able to connect to external antennas. For this option, you will want to consider using the Shure BLX4R, SLX-D, QLX-D, and ULX-D series receivers.

Q: 6. I saw it hads a 300' line of sight range. Will it xmit a very short distance through a wall or door?

A: It should like 75 feet, with the frequency it's on and hopefully it's not concrete and steel you should be fine. That freq is also not widely used so desensitization wouldn't be a issue and my work better then manufacturer specs. Sorry for the delay in response.

Q: 7. Are you able to output the sound of both Lav packs through only 1 output of the receiver?

A: The Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System does not have a mix output for both mic channels.

Q: 8. what is the difference between Hi8 and J10 Shure wireless systems?

A: Same systems, features, and performance characteristics. They operate on slightly different UHF frequency bands:H8: 518 - 542 MHzJ10: 584 - 608 MHz

Q: 9. Does the Lavalier on this Shure QLXD14/84 (X52: 902 to 928 MHz) come with a windscreen?

A: Yes the Shure WL184 in the Shure QLXD14/84 system comes with a snap-fit windscreen, as well as a foam windscreen.

Q: 10. This says "antenna diversity" so how does that compare to true diversity?

A: The Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System only specifies "microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity" but does not get more specific on the type of diversity implemented. This article provides a good explanation of the differences in diversity types: https://bit.ly/3J80yOw

[Plug-In Power] Needed a quality mic to record some interviews for a historical video series. Paired with my Sennheisser system, this little mic worked great. This is my 3rd Countryman mic and all seem solid. I'm happy with it.

[Hypercardioid] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear.

[1 to 2 V] I used this to replace the mic that comes with a Sennheiser ew 100 G4 and love the size. I have used a Countryman B3 wired mic for years.

[Hypercardioid] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.
