[Aluminum] I love Wooden Camera. I've never had a product from them that wasn't exactly as promised. This top plate is extremely well machined, and fits like a glove. A perfect addition to my FS7MK2. I love having multiple mounting points for wireless, monitor, lights, what have you. A little on the pricey side, but you usually get what you pay for

[15 mm LWS] Works great. Obviously pretty heavy, but makes sense for it to be sturdy aluminum. Cool that it works well on its own and also can support the pl adapter.

[6.1 oz / 172 g] It's not only a better place to have it (lower and forward) than the factory place, but the hex screw on the factory plate is such a nightmare. Only took me twice of loosening it and tightening it for it to strip, and now I can't loosen it any more. If I was you, I would order this Zacuto top plate at the same time you order the camera and replace it immediately before you, like me, strip the factory screw.

[15 mm LWS] After looking and trying few other V-lock backs for my camera, I decided with this one. More money then competition, but IMHO way better design and versatility. Main decision was proper design of the foot that connects to the FS7 top rear part where the camera's multi-pin plug is hidden under the plastic cover. Movcam design protects this area properly away from elements, unlike other cheaper solution where this area stays open on both sides due to bad design. Solid build, nice finish. Once mounted, looks like it came with the camera...

[6.1 oz / 172 g] Bought this after reading a few reviews about the Anton Bauer one I was going to get because people had problems with the Anton. This works great, plugged it in and bolted it on. I use my Anton Bauer Dionic batteries on it which helps with rear weight on the FS7. The Sony rear attachment was too expensive for me at the time so this works nice if you want to use gold mount batteries.

[Aluminum] My biggest gripe with the Shape FS7 V-Lock quick release baseplate was that it only secured to the camera in two spots. This piece solves that particular problem, giving you three points of contact between the base and the camera. There is a threaded screw hole dead center in front of the U. It's a shame it is not included with the plate and that it took a call to Shape to find out exactly what this piece did and how it fit into the package. However, since I feel like my rig is much more secure, it's money well spent.
