The cocoa Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the highest gain for general chest-worn applications such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a detachable cable that terminates to a 4-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Audio Technica AEW-T1000, AEW-T1000a, ATW-T1001, ATW-T35m, ATW-T601, ATW-T701, ATW-T75, and ESW-T211 wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Standard (gray band) for most uses

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This mic looks like it has to be mounted in a vertical position to get proper L/R sound, correct? i.e., if I was to mount it from a left or right-facing cold shoe mount, I'd be recording an up/down stereo image, correct? Basically, can the mic be rotated in its shock mount, or no?

A: Hello to achieve a proper recording the mic must sit pointing forward and horizontal in the shoe mount. Any other configuration will not be conducive to a natural reproduction of the sound recording. Also it's extremely important to use the windscreen outside and to set proper volume recording levels in the camera. Best,MG

Q: 2. What does the limited 1 year warranty cover?

A: The Limited 1-Year Warranty covers failure due to defects in the manufacturing process.

Q: 3. Can I use line level signal on the AT897?

A: It only has an XLR out, so it will be a mic level output. It does have a spot where you can put a battery in, if you do not have phantom power in your recorder though.

Q: 4. Will this mic work with the Leica SL2S?

A: Yes. The Audio-Technica AT8024 Stereo/Mono Camera-Mount Microphone BH #AUAT8024 • MFR #AT8024is plug and play compatible with the Leica SL2-S Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 5. Does this connect to Zoom H5?

A: Yes if connected via the included 24 (0.61 m) Cable (5-Pin XLR-F to Two Standard XLR-3M Connectors)

Q: 6. better than at875?

A: The AT897 is slightly more directional due to the length of the tube, as well as the option to self power via AA battery. These would be the major differences.

Q: 7. Is the dust cover removable?

A: Yes the dustcover for the Audio-Technica Consumer AT-LP60XBT Stereo Turntable with Bluetooth (Black) BH #AULP60XBTBK is removable.

Q: 8. does it have a speed adjustment?

A: No. There is no speed adjustment.

Q: 9. Hard Question but what would be the similarities and differences between this mic and a mic like the Audio-Technica 4053 or the Audix SCX-1. Do all of these mics try and achieve the same effect? (because im hoping the BP4025 would be best both outdoor and indoor) . Are all these mics trying to achieve the same effect? If so which is most effective?

A: The Audio-Technica BP4025 X/Y Stereo Field Recording Microphone has some significant differences to the Audio-Technica AT4053b Hypercardioid Condenser Microphone and the Audix SCX1 Studio Condenser Microphone, with the main difference being its X/Y Stereo Pickup pattern. The BP4025 is a great microphone for capturing environmental sounds, ambient audio, or in any scenario where a stereo audio image is desired. The AT4053b and SCX1 are both mono pencil condenser microphones. The AT4053b has a directional, hypercardioid pickup pattern and the SCX1 has a slightly wider cardioid pickup pattern. Both are well-suited for studio and live audio recording and reinforcement applications and less suited for field recordings.

Q: 10. Is it possible to get a shorter cable for this mic?

A: Yes, shorter XLR 5-pin female to dual XLR 3-pin male cables are available. The cable included with the miic is 5-feet long. We do have a 6-inch Sennheiser ACS5 5-pin XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y Cable (B&H # SEACS), an 18-inch Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable (B&H # RECAXSTE), and a 4.9-foot Lewitt DTP 40 Trs - 5-Pin XLR Female to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male Audio Cable (B&H # LEDTP40TRS) that will work with the BP4025 microphone.

[Hypercardioid] I like these wireless mics better than the Sanken COS11-D that I previously bought for my Lectrosonics L Series. They may not have the fidelity of the Sanken mics, but they are very clear sounding with nice low end presence (without it being too much). I prefer these lavs over others for their all around great sound while being extremely durable.. These can withstand heavy use, while the Sanken COS11-D metal windscreen quickly was scraped and dented in regular use.

[Hypercardioid] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.

[1 to 2 V] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear.

[Plug-In Power] Very good in general - great for the cost. The B3 pairs well with the Senheisser G3 wireless packs. It sounds better than 'starter' mics like the ME2. Sanken sounds a bit better but costs a lot more. I think the B3 is in the sweet spot for moderate budget TV and film. The capsule tips included help shape the sound.
