The cocoa Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the highest gain for general chest-worn applications such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a hardwired cable that terminates to a 4-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Audio Technica AEW-T1000, AEW-T1000a, ATW-T1001, ATW-T35m, ATW-T601, ATW-T701, ATW-T75, and ESW-T211 wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Standard (gray band) for most uses

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the diameter of the shaft? I'm wanting to mount this in the mic holder on my Sony PXW-X70. It appears the mic holder would require a diameter of around 15/16 inch or 25mm. If the BP4025 shaft is narrower than that, are there mounting kits available to work with pro-level handles on cams? Thank you!

A: The mic holder attachment on most cameras have a diameter larger than most available microphones. We do offer a solution that allows mics to fit securely in these mounts. The ROCS Rubber O-Rings.

Q: 2. When shooting on a camcorder in the field, if I wanted only the center channel, so I could use the 2nd audio input on the camcorder for a wireless mic or some other input, which of the channels is mid if the mic is set to M/S and NOT doing an internal stereo matrix?

A: It ships with a 5-Pin xlr to 2 3-Pin xlrY-Cable. While It typically it is not marked on the cable which of the 3-pin xlr cable corresponds to which of the capsules, a quick and easy trial and error by independently testing each of the -pin xlr connectors, you should be able to figure it out in no time and with ease. I wish I would have a clear cut answer.

Q: 3. Can I use this as a mono mic for podcast if I do not connect one of the xlr's?

A: You could in that form just to connect oneside of the mic, just keep in mind that this mic is a condensor mic it still is sensitive and it will pickup ambience from the room if its not acousticlly treated.

Q: 4. Will this mic work with the Leica SL2S?

A: Yes. The Audio-Technica AT8024 Stereo/Mono Camera-Mount Microphone BH #AUAT8024 • MFR #AT8024is plug and play compatible with the Leica SL2-S Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 5. Is it possible to get a shorter cable for this mic?

A: Yes, shorter XLR 5-pin female to dual XLR 3-pin male cables are available. The cable included with the miic is 5-feet long. We do have a 6-inch Sennheiser ACS5 5-pin XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y Cable (B&H # SEACS), an 18-inch Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable (B&H # RECAXSTE), and a 4.9-foot Lewitt DTP 40 Trs - 5-Pin XLR Female to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male Audio Cable (B&H # LEDTP40TRS) that will work with the BP4025 microphone.

Q: 6. Does it come with a windscreen?

A: Yes, it comes with a foam windscreen that is effective in breezes up to about 7 mph.

Q: 7. Does the microphone come with a stand?

A: The Audio-Technica AT2040 microphone does not ship with a stand, that will be an additional accessory that can be ordered separately from our site.

Q: 8. I'm looking to shoot two or three people in one shot, with the boom overhead on a stand. Mostly indoors. Would this mic capture everyone's dialogue if there is no boom operator to move to the speaker?

A: A shotgun mic should be used to pick up dialog from one person, or professional sounding audio. If you use it to pick up two people, the sound will become thin. I would suggest using a boom person, or setting up two mics in a stereo configuration.

Q: 9. Are the swivel connectors made of metal?

A: Yes -the pivot points, yoke, and headband are all metal.

Q: 10. better than at875?

A: The AT897 is slightly more directional due to the length of the tube, as well as the option to self power via AA battery. These would be the major differences.

[Hypercardioid] I used this to replace the mic that comes with a Sennheiser ew 100 G4 and love the size. I have used a Countryman B3 wired mic for years.

[Hypercardioid] Needed a quality mic to record some interviews for a historical video series. Paired with my Sennheisser system, this little mic worked great. This is my 3rd Countryman mic and all seem solid. I'm happy with it.

[Cocoa] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.

[Plug-In Power] I like these wireless mics better than the Sanken COS11-D that I previously bought for my Lectrosonics L Series. They may not have the fidelity of the Sanken mics, but they are very clear sounding with nice low end presence (without it being too much). I prefer these lavs over others for their all around great sound while being extremely durable.. These can withstand heavy use, while the Sanken COS11-D metal windscreen quickly was scraped and dented in regular use.

[Cocoa] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear.

[Hypercardioid] Very good in general - great for the cost. The B3 pairs well with the Senheisser G3 wireless packs. It sounds better than 'starter' mics like the ME2. Sanken sounds a bit better but costs a lot more. I think the B3 is in the sweet spot for moderate budget TV and film. The capsule tips included help shape the sound.
