Designed for complex 3D printing needs, the MakerBot METHOD X 3D Printer | High-Performance 3D Printingis bridging the gap between consumer and industrial 3D printing. It features a Dual Performance Extruder system, utilizing the included MakerBot Model 1XA and Support 2XA Extruders. Combined with the 212°F (100°C) enclosed build chamber, which circulates the heat, the METHOD X can print a wide variety of complex and durable ABS parts. The METHOD X is also compatible with ASA, PLA, and PETG filaments. For support filaments, the METHOD X can use PVA and SR-30 filaments.

The METHOD X features a metal frame that runs the entire length of the body to offset flexing. Combined with the spring steel build plate, the METHOD X provides a true flat surface for better part accuracy and a reduced chance of failure. There are also two dry-sealed material bays at the base of the METHOD X to store your filaments in optimal conditions. The 5" display has a 640 x 480 resolution and supports touchscreen controls. You'll be able to navigate menus and settings as well as monitor your print jobs. The METHOD X allows you to print via 10/100 Mb/s Fast Ethernet RJ45 LAN, USB 2.0 Type-A, and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n).

Note: MakerBot materials are sold separately. Removal of SR-30 support material requires Circulation Tank and Ecoworks cleaning agent, available from third-party resellers. For more information, please visit MakerBot's official website.

The METHOD X features a structurally optimized metal frame that runs the full length of the body to offset flexing. Less flexing means more consistent prints with better part accuracy and fewer failures.

The enclosed build chamber can reach up to 212°F (100°C). Control the temperature and quality of every layer. While heated build plates are effective at reducing warping, the METHOD X takes it further with full active heat immersion during the entire duration of the print.

The Dual Performance Extruder system accelerates print times and provides dimensional accuracy across every part. Each Performance Extruder contains a suite of sensors that detect when material is running low and allows for active jam detection during the entire print duration. The system also has more torque with a 19:1 dual-drive gear ratio, which keeps materials loaded and ready for reliable material extrusion at every layer. The lengthened thermal core has a fast start-up time, heating up in less than 60 seconds.

There are two material bays that form a seal that keep material free from being damaged from humidity. A suite of built-in sensors ensures that your material is stored in its optimal environment.

The METHOD X is compatible with ABS, ASA, PLA, and PETG filaments. For support filaments, the METHOD X can utilize PVA and SR-30.

You can print via 10/100 Mb/s Fast Ethernet RJ45 LAN, USB 2.0 Type-A, and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n).

The 5" display features touchscreen controls, allowing you to swipe, tap, and print directly from the METHOD X. With a 640 x 480 resolution, you'll be able to receive up-to-the-second status of your current print job.

A precision-calibrated print base and spring steel build plate provide true flatness for part accuracy.

[Enclosed] Sets up in minutes, has everything you need to get started, and after almost 200 hours of printing I've had zero issues.

[32 x 22 x 20"] This is my second 3d printer. It is a fabulous printer the build size is limiting. The performance and print quality are spectacular. Very quiet also.

[2] Handled everything I threw at it. Quick startup. Printed in sla and ngen so far. Multiple colors. Swapping filaments took a little experimenting. Found it best if you cut filament at 45 degree angle before attempting to feed new spool into head. Very quiet.

[500 mm/s] After spending a great deal of time with the original mini in an educational environment, I decided to order my own mini 2. Great print quality, a breeze to use, and nearly silent operation!

[Enclosed] I have logged over 48 hours of print time on this unit since getting it ~1 week ago. I has been in production since I received it and printed exactly as expected. I have had some failed prints which were a result of setting I placed- nothing caused by the machine at all. The only complaint I have/ issue I had is that the replacement filament function tends to cause a jam in the extruder head. So instead of reversing the filament out I'll snip it and manually extrude it through while threading the new filament in after.

Honestly, if anything this has provided way to needing a larger printer with dual extrusion capabilities for new use cases. There is no doubt I will opt for the Taz Pro after truly falling in love with the Mini 2.

In conclusion 11/10 - this is a phenomenal machine and I am really proud to own one.

[32 x 22 x 20"] Wow, what a difference in printing quality compared to the Lulzbot TAZ-6. It has network connectivity, USB support and an awesome case that makes printing ABS filament a breeze, at a very affordable price. Dremel is still supported, and for this reason, I decided to go with this ultra-reliable printer.

[32 x 22 x 20"] And the reason is that it works flawlessly out of the box. I previously bought a Creality machine and got so frustrated with it that I literally took it to the dump and chucked it. On the Dremel I first printed a tiny bit of the froggy then went right to my 88 hour 70% infill print job creating a 4" to 2" reducer for a computer fan for my racing sim. It is not finished yet but so far looks beautiful. This machine is not inexpensive, but quality and build convenience have a price.

I had a shipping problem between B&H and FedEx and the first machine arrived beat up. B&H corrected it immediately by shipping out a replacement without question.

[2] It made much easier to print ABS and Nylon. I own a creality and 3 prusa which I use for PLA prototypes, and I was looking for a higher end printer for final parts and dual printing. Definitely the best cost-benefit relation for my needs as it supports many materials. One E3D teflon nozzle is for PLA and the other E3Dnozzle is all metal. Decent printing area. Cloud is useful to manage and monitor prints.

[32 x 22 x 20"] I was able to print the rocktopus after calling tech support, as this is my first printer. One disappointing point was that you DO need a computer, just not all the time. The computer is needed for startup, and later for upgrading the machine and several manual controls. Its nice you can print using the SDRAM card, since Windows will reboot at some time during the day if it needs to, even if you are half way through a print. I also need to get a UPS to protect the machine during a print. Very good tech support, but I wish they had let a noob use the guide to clarify steps the builders know so well they dont write it down. Still, it is working, its very quiet and I made a model!
