[0.33 lb] Profoto has the reputation of being expensive, but giving great light. This softbox is no exception. I love the quality of light I get from it.

Other reviews have called it poorly designed, being hard to put together and take down. I don't think the criticisms are fair. It's just a question of technique and practice.

I suspect some people are trying to assemble the rods in the wrong order. It's necessary to assemble rods opposite to each other (3 o'clock position then 9 o'clock, etc.). If someone is trying to insert rods next to each other around the periphery, they will likely fail.

On disassembly, the rods will be under tension. If you pull up on the rods as you take them out, it will reduce the tension and be much easier to accomplish. The quality of light from this softbox is worth the effort.

[0.33 lb] Purchased this as got tired of the metal beauty dish. I do have one issue, the poles do slide out of the front sometimes when setting up. Wish they had some way of better securing it, seems I have to hold the rods in while hooking up the speed ring as they pop out the other side sometimes even when they are in the little housing for them if not fully secure. The fabric is great and the light is beautiful from it.

[0.33 lb] This is a bullet proof box. I like the short fall off and concentration of light. Great for a Key on single and double people shots.

[0.33 lb] I have a lot of Profoto gear and the octabox has been a great addition. This is my go to light shaping tool for portraits. Build quality is great though it can be a pain at times setting up. All in all, you can’t go wrong with Profoto

[0.33 lb] I use this octa for on location, studio, and wedding shoots and I absolutely love it. Setup is a breeze and I just leave the rods in the octa to make setup quicker. I pair it with my profoto speedlight speedring and they work so well together.

[0.33 lb] There's a reason that Profoto has some of the most quality products around. This softbox is solidly built and once I figured out how to set it up it was fast and easy to build it. Despite the solid construction, the weight of the softbox is light and it doesn't get hot when used with their 500/500 D1 lights.
