This K&F Concept Slim Circular Polarizer Filter 62mmfrom K&F Concept Slim Circular Polarizer Filter 62mmis a 62mm multicoated glass circular polarizing filter that helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a nonmetallic surface. The light from the sun becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges and filters directionally polarized light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from nonmetallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

This filter is constructed from Japanese optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, and it features multicoating to prevent internal ghosting and reflections. It is made with an aluminum alloy filter ring that can be rotated to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect. The slim design reduces the potential for vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How much stops of light does it reduce?

A: Unfortunately, a filter factor is not provided by Nikon for this CPL.

Q: 2. Is it stackable

A: No, the K&F Concept Nano-X ND2-32 Variable Fader & Circular Polarizer HD Green Coated Waterproof Anti-Scratch Japan Optics Filter (77mm) does not have filter front threads.

Q: 3. Hoya 82mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter and Hoya 82mm EVO Antistatic Circular Polarizer Filter. Which one is better and why? Why HD3 so expensive? Is the photos will be different?

A: The HD3 has harder coatings, and uses a higher quality polarization film.

Q: 4. What is the recommended cleaning for this polarizer?

A: You may use a product such as the Pancro Professional Lens Cleaner (4 oz), B&H # PAN001 and a Sensei Microfiber Lens Cleaning Cloth (Gray), B&H # SECCMF77G to clean this filter. https://bhpho.to/2Vlp07b https://bhpho.to/2MkTd27

Q: 5. Is the .3 stop light loss number in the specifications accurate?

A: I suspect that there is some semantics involved. However, I find the in my terms the factor is 1.3. By this I mean for example: holding the shutter speed constant, I get a reading of f9 without the filter, with the filter on and adjusted for maximum effect it will require a aperture of f5.6 for an equivalent exposure. I was mislead by the point three as well, but it is still better than the 2.5 or a bit more that conventional filters of this type yield.Hope this helps.

Q: 6. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.

Q: 7. Does this filter come with a case?

A: Yes, a storage case is included.

Q: 8. Does this have front end filter threads such that a Lee adaptor can be put on?

A: This has front end threads

Q: 9. How does the Hoya Brand compare to Heliopan or Sony circular polarizers?

A: Hoya makes a very good filter and is comparable to Sony and just under Heliopan's quality.

Q: 10. Can I put it on a sigma 30 mm lens?

A: In theory you could with a step down ring, but you'll get vignetting on the edges. I'd recommend getting the correct 52mm filter.

[0.15 lb] I have never regretted or disappointed in the performance of any K&F products

[Multi Coated] Every photographer should have a polarizer to handle glare.

[0.15 lb] love this Polarizer, low profile helps eliminate vignetting. your lens cap will not fit but you dont want to leave it on anyways.

[0.15 lb] Good price. My work does not require the most amazing optics so why overpay?

[0.15 lb] Doesn't block the lens at all, nice and short for no barrel affect. Inexpensive.

[Multi Coated] I got this to pair with a Tokina 14-20mm f/2.0 EF-S lens. It does a great job and the lens sharpness doesn't suffer noticeably from the extra glass. One downside is that if there is a strong light source like the sun in the frame, it causes some nasty circular flares in the image, but this is a problem with every other filter I've used as well, so I'm not sure I'd ding it a star for that.

[Glass] I love the K&F filter line. This us one of many that I have.
Very well built, dose it's job BEAUTIFULY, Great quality and results at a fair price. This filter is for my 10mm - 24mm lens. VERY, very slight vinyetting at 10mm, and the CPL handled the job amazing

[Aluminum] I am a film photographer and I bought this for my Pentax f/1.4 50mm lens to shoot long exposures of waterfalls. For such a low price I was prepared for problems but all of my images were beautiful and consistent, no difference in picture quality at different exposure times and different lighting conditions. The fact it is waterproof was greatly appreciated since the spray radius off some of the falls was quite impressive. Overall very pleased especially for the price, I would def buy from this brand again.
Good to note: I primarily shoot black and white, and the only color shots I took with this filter were at night, so I can't really speak to how it might affect colors. What I did shoot looked accurate and I don't see any discoloration.

[Glass] I'm honestly surprised at how good this Polarizer is for the money. No discernible color shift or noticeable sharpness loss on my copy and it just does what it's says it's supposed to.
