[1] Love this concealer, I wish more of bubblebee's concealers had the bottom guard as well. It does a great job at eliminating fabric noise, even with rough canvas.

[0.01 lb] I recently bought two of these for my Countryman B3 lavalier mic (I needed one, but at $17 I thought I might just as well get a spare right away).

I'm using the Countryman B3 mic with a Tentacle Sync Track-E audio recorder, which only allows for monitoring during recording via Bluetooth using the Tentacle app, and that entails serious lag that would be too distracting for me because this is part of my setup as a solo shooter, doing both video and sound and conducting interviews myself.

The Tentacle Track-E is simple to operate once you get the hang of it, and not having to deal with wireless issues is a plus for a solo operator. But the lack of live monitoring means not knowing if sound from the lavalier is being affected by rustling caused by friction against clothing, which is not a good to discover in post (even if Davinci Resolve's Voice Isolation effect can now help with that quite a bit...)

During my most recent shoot I was able to use this Bubblebee Lav Concealer and not only did it aid in placing the lav on my subject (inside his T-shirt to keep it concealed), but also in preventing all rustling sounds. The subject was an artist working on a big canvas on the floor, so he was moving around quite a bit.

The concealer comes with a clip, a fabric guard, an extreme wire fabric guard for course fabrics, and six pieces of hypoallergenic Lav Concealer Tape, which I have yet to try.

Do keep in mind that this concealer is made specifically for the Countryman B3, which has a tiny capsule, so don't assume this will work with any other lavalier mic.

I'm glad I bought this accessory and will not use the Countryman B3 again without it!

[Black] We bought these to hide the mic better on our guest speakers. There was a little concern that we would lose some performance on the microphone, but we have not experienced that. These were on backorder, but they were worth the wait!

[Molded Rubber] I bought these in an attempt to better utilize the Countryman B6 Lav mics I have. Placement and visibility is always a concern with live broadcasts. With the Lav Concealers, I have more options to hide the mic- yet still get great sound. Love this product from Bubblebee Industries.

[Molded Rubber] I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of these for use in our livestream broadcasts. We have been using a headset worn mic, but there are times when the talent do not want to wear a mic on their ear, or it is just better to not see the mic at all. The ability to conceal our Countryman B6 mics inside the collar or under the neck line of a shirt or blouse is fantastic. Initial tests are great and I cannot wait to expand their use.

[Molded Rubber] I'm a camera operator that often records interview sound and I was having a very challenging time getting clean audio with my standard lav mic and clip holder.


I ordered this item in hopes of eliminating clothes rustling. I used it this weekend for the time and I was very pleased with how everything turned out. I did about 12 interviews over 2 days, with a bunch of amateur athletes and I did not notice any rustling sound whatsoever.


Before this lav concealer, I used the rycote circle sticky things, and I do like those still, but this Bubblebee concealer is way easier to take off, put on new tape, and stick on the next interviewee in a fast paced environment. Now that i know it works I'm ordering one more black one for my second mic, and a white one for special occasions.

[0.01 lb] These have come as revelation to me. After doing a few dozen interviews with lavs over the years, mostly at an amateur level, I've recently been getting more commercial video jobs. These are so useful, they really cut down on unwanted noise and the supplied fabric tape works perfectly. But do be ready to to fiddle with it a bit. The countryman B6 is so ridiculously small (which is mostly good a thing) that working it into this lav concealer can be a pain. I recommend some good plastic tweezers.

[1] They get sticky over time when I use adhesive tape. So I clean them with water and goo remover. Works well. The mic fit is snug.

[Molded Rubber] Throw away your ugly microphone clips. Bubblebee's lav concealer will hide the microphone from view resulting in a more pleasing shot. If done properly, you shouldn't ever get noise from rubbing fabric. Game changer! I own two - one for each lavaliere that I own.
