The tan Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Sony Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Sony Wireless Transmittersfeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the highest gain for general chest-worn applications such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a detachable cable that terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony UTX-B03, UTX-B1, UTX-B2, and WRT-805A wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Standard (gray band) for most uses

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this remote control be somehow programmed to control the ISO on a Sony A camera? I see that this is mostly used for zoom, but perhaps with the combo of the custom button, there is a way to control ISO. Thank you.

A: No.

Q: 2. The version I'm looking includes the Sony transmitter. Any chance this will still work on a Nikon or Canon camera?

A: The strobe is universal and will work with Nikon, Canon, and Sony. The transmitters are dedicated to each brand. In other words if you have a Nikon system you need the Nikon transmitter. If you have a Canon system you need the Canon transmitter. Each strobe will work with any of the three transmitters, but you need the transmitter dedicated to your camera system.

Q: 3. Can I use this with the Sony a6700?

A: Yes, you can use Sony HVL-F60RM2 Wireless Radio Flash with Sony A6700 and you may also see these as alternatives https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1729020-REG/westcott_4796_fj80_ii_s_touchscreen.html or https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1592784-REG/profoto_901232_a10_airttl_s_studio_light.html

Q: 4. Will this control Sony flashes set on wireless without a receiver?

A: You will need both the transmitter on the camera and a receiver for each flash.

Q: 5. Can I plug this monolight directly to 220V without an AC adapter ?

A: Yes. But you will need to adapt the AC wall plug for local use: AC Input Voltage 100to240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz

Q: 6. Will this flash work with a Nissin Air R receiver and the Nissin Air commander.?

A: Yes, the following unit is designed to work with the following flashes. Sony: HVL-F32M, HVL-F42AM, HVL-43M, HVL-F58AM, HVL-F60M

Q: 7. Is there a compatible receiver available for this that would enable a Canon 600rt-ex speedlite to be fired for supplemental lighting?

A: Unfortunately, there are no separate receivers offered for this system. The trigger only works with the internal receivers on the Impact Cruiser monolight.

Q: 8. Which batteries last the longest in these?

A: Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries (BH #ENAALU8) would be a good choice for the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System.

Q: 9. Will it work on the new A7r4?

A: As per Sony, this remote is compatible with the A7R IV.

Q: 10. Will this unit work with the Profoto B1, or B2 strobes ?

A: Hi Neil! Sony can't guarantee the 100% compatibility/functionality of a 3rd party flash. -Anthony

[1 to 2 V] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector.

[Hypercardioid] Great for iPhone and iPad. I wish it had a headphone output.

[Hypercardioid] Great product, easy to use and clear sound. Much muche better than original Me-2.

[Hypercardioid] You get what you pay for. We all know this. These mics are perfect for talk shows, commercials, guided tutorials, etc. Buy a few extra tie clips and you can clip them at multiple spots to keep the mix secure if your talent is moving around. We already own 2 of these and just bought 2 more to outfit a bigger number of people on screen.

[Hypercardioid] I bought the B3 as a replacement for my sennheiser ME-2 stock mic, because I do a lot of filming in noisy office environments with air conditioning and ventilation. I am so blown away at how well the B3 performs. It reduced the background noise significantly. In fact I bought a 2nd unit. So worth it.

[Hypercardioid] Using this mic in a professional TV environment. The mic sounds clean and gives a nice rich, full sound.

[Tan] Very good in general - great for the cost. The B3 pairs well with the Senheisser G3 wireless packs. It sounds better than 'starter' mics like the ME2. Sanken sounds a bit better but costs a lot more. I think the B3 is in the sweet spot for moderate budget TV and film. The capsule tips included help shape the sound.

[Hypercardioid] Where to start? Size: The B3 is small enough to be inconspicuous as a lapel mic, and can be hidden in a tie knot or hair. Sound: silky, picks up voices wonderfully without dropping all the room noise. Reliability: the cord is well built, shrouded in a material slick enough to minimize noise. The only challenge I've had has been popping the cap off the top to use one of the two alternates. All in all, it's manufactured, engineered and packaged wonderfully.

[Tan] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear.

[Tan] I'm a professional video guy but not a professional audio guy. I was having issues trying to hide big ole mics that probably shouldn't be hidden (due to size and causing clothing noise because of that). A professional audio friend of mine recommended this mic and I'm so happy that I bought it. Easy to hide, beautiful sound. I couldn't be happier. I bought this to use with my Sennheiser G3 wireless system. I would buy this mic again without a second thought.
