The SERIES8 Confidence lavalier is composed of two sonically matched elements in a single housing that are wired to two 3-pin LEMO connectors for Sennheiser SK, Shure UR1M, Zaxcom, and WisyCom wireless transmitters.

The all-in-one solution is suitable for live stage, theater, broadcasting, and production environments. The mic cable splits nine inches above connection to the bodypack and allows ample separation between both wireless transmitters. In addition, the paired microphone is factory matched in frequency and sensitivity, so that when vital backup is initiated, any difference in audio performance is nearly undetectable.

A: It will not work in your computer. That is a TRRS cable made for phones. You can try turning it into a TRS with this cable B&H # ROSC3 available on our website.

Q: 2. Would this work if I plug it in straight into my Canon 7D? Thanks.

A: The MVL lavalier is designed specifically for smartphone use and unfortunately would not be compatible with the input on a camera or portable recorder.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with dslr cameras? Does it need phantom power? Thanks

A: This is powered by the smart phone. It is not compatible with DSLR cameras. It is compatible with Mobile Phones or Tablets only.

Q: 4. Will this work on a audio recorder using a trs adapter?

A: The MVL lavalier will work with a TRS adapter when connected to a recorder that is able to provide plug-in power via its mic jack.

Q: 5. Does it work with ipad 2?

A: The Shure MVL will work with the iPad 2 and all other iOS devices such as the iPhone, and iPod. Connection via the headphone jack.

Q: 6. is this compatible with the VIXIA HF R50?

A: Not sure, but I tested my MVL with my Vixia HFM40 and it does not work.

Q: 7. Is this mic compatible with the DJI Mic 2 transmitters?

A: The Shure MOTIV MVL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Smartphones has a TRRS connector for use with smartphones. It would not be compatible with a wireless transmitter such as the DJI Mic 2.

Q: 8. Would this work on the 3.5mm adapter for the Gopro4 which is connected on the Gopro?

A: No - it is designed for devices offering a female 1/8 TRRS input like smartphones and tablets.

[Plug-In Power] I use this mic system for my Sony A7rIII rig. It works great whether it's using the lav or an XLR mic. My only reason I would give it 4.5 instead of 5 stars (but you can't give .5 here) is that the lav is VERY HOT. By that, I mean I have to turn down the gain literally to 1 on my camera. Anything louder is too loud. If you're interviewing a person who is talk very loud or singing, you're going going to get clipping. Fortunately, I have the XLR input so if I know things are going to get loud, I use that. I would definitely recommend this as your SLR/Mirrorless mic. 5

[6' / 1.8 m] I already had one of these, which worked great. Ordered a second one and a patch cord to put the two receiver outputs together into one into the camera. With both receivers mounted on cold shoe brackets on the camera, the mics work perfectly together and are audible through the headphone out jack on my Canon 5D Mk IV. No feedback, no level anomalies..... With great range and good tonality as well as clarity, work well indoors and out minimizing room acoustics and environmental noise. Beats shotgun mic setup hands down. What's not to like? 5

[Black] This X-Connector does what it's supposed to do. Thanks Point Source Audio for this connector, we went from Shure body packs to Sennheiser body packs. This is also good for taking your microphone to other venues and plug into other systems with the different X-Connectors for different brand wireless systems. I do wish there wasn't a chance to over tighten but Point Source Audio does warn on the connector to not over tighten. 5

[Plug-In Power] I own a couple sets of Sennheiser G2 E100's and they are great units, but sometimes they are a hassle with finding a good channel, resetting, and going thru a sequence to pair up. I got the XSW-D for a run and gun option that gets my audio working right away. Little hassle with a Sennheiser professional result. Looking forward to using these bad-boys in may interviews to come. 5

[Black] I am glad that I purchased the Sennheiser MZW102 windscreen for my MKE2 gold lavalier microphone. You will not hear and pops or scratching noises when you use this windscreen. I highly recommend it for older MKE2 gold lavalier microphones. 5
