Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could I buy two receivers, put them in adjacent rooms then switch channels on the transmitter to switch between the receivers?

A: Yes, if you have two Shure BLX4R Rackmount Wireless Receivers tuned to different frequencies, you would be able to connect one Shure BLX1 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter to either receiver alternately.

Q: 2. Can I buy several sets on two different bands for 12 mics all working at the same time a?

A: Yes you can use 3 systems of the Shure BLX188/CVL in one band and 3 in another band to be able to use 12 mics at the same time without their signals interfering.

Q: 3. How does one specify the termination & pinouts?

A: This headset provides a bare-wire pigtail for soldering your own connectors.

Q: 4. Hi, is A27M Stereo Microphone Adapter included in this set?

A: Yes It was included in the one that I bought.

Q: 5. I want to find a way to run Shure MX412's wirelessly using my existing Sennheiser G3 wireless belt pack transmitter combos. I tried to use Whirlwind 4x Phantom Power blocks but they introduced too much line noise to be useful. Any suggestion?

A: I would consider getting the Sennheiser SKP 300 G3 transmitter which will provide 48 volts of phantom power for your MX412. This way you will not be introducing additional electronics to your audio chain, potentially causing line noise.

Q: 6. can I add handheld wireless sm58 to this unit?

A: You can purchase a Shure BLX2/SM58 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter with the SM58 Capsule to use with the Shure BLX4 Tabletop Wireless Receiver included with the Shure BLX14/PGA31 Wireless Cardioid Headset Microphone System, instead of the Shure BLX1 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter with the Shure PGA31 Headset Microphone. However, only one transmitter can be used at a time with the receiver. If you want to be able to use both transmitters at the same time, you will need the Shure BLX88 Dual-Channel Tabletop Wireless Receiver.

Q: 7. is there a broadcast delay when turning the tx unit on? I do not see a specific mute switch.

A: Thanks all. Looking forward to adding this mic to our mix.

Q: 8. I have an Audio-Technica broadcast headset that is made useless by the excessive noise from the plastic parts that transmit into the microphone. Dies the Shure BRH50M have similar issues?

A: We haven't had any complaints regarding the Shure BRH50M.

Q: 9. CAN THIS BE USED WITH A PORTABLE RECEIVER? I MEAN A RECEIVER THAT IS BATTERY POWERED AND NOT MAINS DEPENDANT. THANKS

A: No. Shure does not offer any portable battery-powered receivers at this time.

Q: 10. Where are these made?

A: These are made in Mexico.

[Beige] for recording my classical guitar

[Beige] I'm a musician, producer and audio designer, recording professionally for over 5 years. The SM-81 has been the small diaphragm condenser of choice in many studios since it was released. I own a pair of them and have used them primarily as drum overhead mics, and for stereo mic'ing acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments. The SM-81 is one of the most accurate mic's I've used (what you hear is what you get). They are also very well made... like long, silver, cylindrical jewels. The -10db pad and low end roll off switches are easy to get to, but not easy to accidentally switch on or off. They are also one of the quietest (low self-noise) mics. Many jazz artists love them because of their accuracy. They also work quite well for recording choirs and pipe organs.

[Beige] This mic was recommended to me by a saxophone buddy who used this for both live performance and recording. This has served me well in both capacities and I was able to move around during the performance and play comfortably!

[Beige] Purchased two SM81-LC - Cardioid Condenser Mic by Shure to use for drum overheads. The bomb! These mics do not color the sound. What you hear when you play is what you will hear out of the mixer. Fantastic mics. I don't have any other instrument condensers to compare them to, and I will never need to. It couldn't get any better than this. I'm using recorderman setup with two additional mics on bass drum and bottom of snare. This is perfect for recording drums. Sounds fantastic on conga too!

[Beige] I was looking for an SM-81 to record acoustic guitars anyway - it was recommended to me by a friend who teaches recording engineering - and I thought the bundle was too good to pass up. It did not disappoint. The SM-81 is clearly legendary for a reason. I've now made multiple recordings with it, with several different guitars, and the tracks sit perfectly in the mix with no additional EQ and no fuss. Today I tracked a vocal with it and was stunned by how well it captured my voice. Very very impressed with this mic and I'm not sorry I sprung for the extras.

[Plug-In Power] I bought a pair of these to mic my C7 and classical guitar. Although I am still experimenting with various placements, all placements that I have tried have produced excellent results. Seems to be flat and accurate.

[Plug-In Power] Used for live sound with Allen & Heath WZ4 and QSC 16 kW system. Clear and crisp, very controlable especially going into low note vocals. This is a new purchase. Will have to see how it performs a few more times.
